I am going to WDW in Aug..I will be going with my 20 year old daughter and my 1 year old son:love: my daughter is trying to do the Disney inter :thumbsup2....anyway I have not been to Disney in many years and I need lot's of help:woohoo:

Yay for trip planning! I have never been in August but have heard the end of August is low crowds. I priced All Star Music for 5 nights(8/26-8/8-30) with 2 base adult tickets and the Disney site quoted $980. I don't know if they will run any kind of discounts at all, bring snacks and your own water into the parks to cut down on food cost. The baby is free so that's nice! Will you fly, can you drive? We have a family of 5, so it's always cheaper for us to drive. Good Luck and happy planning!:goodvibes

I am going to fly.. When do they do the free dining?

Last year, Free Dining started on 8/25/12. The Bounceback offer at the time was for this coming August and I think offered free dining starting 8/18/13. I am really regretting not booking while we were there since we usually do. We have gone with free dining for the past 7 years and I really hope the rumors are not true about none at all or limited free dining this year.

It will be easier to help if we know what your "budget" is. My idea of affordable probably isn't the same as yours. So if you give us a dollar figure that you're working with, we might be able to help you figure something out.

Also, has your daughter been accepted into the CP or is she just interested in it? There's a Disney website that explains it in very vague terms (who qualifies and what they need to do to apply). There is also a CP forum here on the disboards when current, former and CP wannabees hang out. She might get more insight into the program from there.

We have been going in August for many years now. Last year was July and we were really wishing it was August. The crowds are very managable and resorts are in value season around mid month so rates are at the lowest. We have had free dining many times and really love it....we would never pay for the dining plan. Really, it's not free though. You will pay rack rate for the room but for us it's a deal. We are a family of 4 WDW adults and like to stay at the value resorts....under these circumstances it's a good deal.
