Yuck! I can't believe how much I weigh right now. I have to lose nearly 100lbs to get to my goal weight. I have nobody to blame but myself for this weight gain though. Tomorrow lent starts, and I am going to start eating healthier and making time for exercise. I have to do this, I have never weighed this much in my life, it's just gross. My goal is to weigh 153 princess: and I am currently at 244 . I used to chock it up to having to work nights, and going to school full time, but that really isn't any excuse. It is time to make some changes in my life, there are things I cannot change right now (such as the crappy house I live in), but there are things I can control, and need to. This downward spiral has to stop, and it stops today! I will keep you all posted.

I am right there with you. I want to lose about 50, was 40 before our trip  a month ago.

Good Luck!!!

When I read your post I felt like I understood how you felt. I currently weigh 225-230 depending on if I have had a good week or not! I am doing Weight Watchers and I really like it, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE food and lots of it, so sometimes I have trouble controlling myself. Please continue to post!! I believe that we need to seek encouragement from anywhere we can! Good luck
Keep us posted on your progress!! :thumbsup2

Hello, Tinkerbell!

Sounds like you're really determined to lose. You can do it!!! Two years ago, I weighed 220 and began to lose. Five months after I started, we went to WDW and I couldn't believe how much easier it was to get around!!! At that point, I had lost 45 lbs. Now, 75 pounds lighter, I practically fly around the parks when we go to WDW! Well, not quite. But I feel so much better and truly enjoy our WDW visits more now than ever!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Good luck! Debbie

I completely understand how you feel. My Dr. thinks I should be around 150 (not my goal weight). That leaves me about 80lbs to lose. That seems so daunting and overwhelming. I just started again and am trying to take it one day at a time.

Hi!

Ugh - I know how you feel. I went down to 122lbs and because of stresses and changes at work I ballooned up to 192lbs... I've been dieting and excercising since January and now am down to 170 - need to get back to 120 before summer! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I hear ya! :( I've got to loose about 50lbs. and get my health problems in check (diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol etc) so I am now on the WW plan and joined Curves 1 week ago and in the past week I've lost 3 lbs. I am kind of disappointed as I really expected to lose a lot more the first few weeks but I shouldn't complain I guess, as a weight loss is still better than a weight gain! :goodvibes

Good luck with your journey! :thumbsup2

Well I started my "eating healthier" plan two days ago and am still going strong! Usually the first two days are the hardest for me, once i'm over them and I get rid of that initial headache from decreased carbs i'm golden. I haven't stepped on the scale yet, and I think I will try and refrain from that until at least friday morning. The real test comes tomorrow when I have to break my habit of stopping for a chai tea latte on my way to college! I plan on starting to exercise next week, I have to give my body some time to adjust to the new decreased intake of food. The snow is melting here, and I just saw a FAT picture of me from Christmas which I may put right on my computer to remind me to stay on track! I hope everyone else is doing well on their healthy eating plan!

I know how it is to need to loose a lot of weight but I think I would change part of what you said. Don't look at it as a must do or a have to. Look at it as a want to. Typically, when people say they have to do this or someone says that you must do this, that is when you resist more. But when you say that you want to do this for all the right reasons, then you have a higher rate of success. I know we are all here :cheer2: for you to make your goal. I have also started a thread called Dieting for Disney. There are a lot of people over there getting good advice on diet tips. Plus, they are getting a lot of motivation and encouragement. If you are interested, come over and look at it, we would be happy to have you. :thumbsup2

Keep up the great work!

As I was reading through this thread it reminds me my feelings of being overwhelmed with having to lose a lot of weight. I also started a week and a half before lent and then started exerciseing at lent. What seems to be helping me is the short goal challanges. I want to lose 10 in march and 15 before April.

When I aim towards smaller goals, it seems possible.

March 15, 2006 5lbs gone!
I know it's water weight but at least it feels like accomplishment, still cheat free!!!

I just got back from Weight watchers.I may as well quit.I followed the diet all week and gained a pound.I am 222lb and my goal was 155 but they set 131 which I have not weighed in 20 yrs! it it just too hard to thin k about losing so much weight. Is this board for people trying to diet? I need to lose for my helath. I am 41 and falling apart!

I know how you feel. I need to lose about 80 lbs. I am not putting my focus on the end, but rather smaller goals. I set my ticker for 50 lbs. I joined the two challanges. I am trying lose 10 for March and 15 for Easter.

It seems to be helping me to keep focused.

That is a really good idea. It is overwhelming to think about trying to lose so much!

SNOWWITE...DO NOT QUIT!!! You can do this!!! I have alot to lose as well. 48 more pounds to goal, and even though it is not as much as you(cause I know that is what you are thinking) it felt like 100 when I started. I would like to give you some advice if I may...

Instead of letting the the program work for you, YOU work the program. My biggest tip I can give you is to follow the guidelines on page 34 of the welcome book. Make sure you are taking your vitamins, get in your water, make sure you get in your healthy oils(2 tsp. a day) choose whole grains over white flower. AND make sure you start to move...even if it is just a 15 minute walk at first. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

If you don't mind why don't you post what your typical day of food consists of and maybe we can see where you can make different choices. I know how frustrating it can be, but just hang in there and stay on these boards. It is such a motivation for me to come on here and hear everyone else losing weight, because I think if they can do it then so can I.

Set small goals for yourself. Like, after 10 pounds you can treat yourself to a movie or something. Get a ticker at the bottom of your signature. I have notices looking at that and seeing that it used to say 63lbs to go and now saying 48 pounds to go makes me so happy. I know that 48 is still a long way to go, but 48 is way better than 63.

DO NOT GIVE UP!!!! YOu can and WILL do it!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Where do you get a ticker?
It isnt that I dont know what to eat or that I need to move.It is jsut that I have some medical issues making it very painful to exercise and sleep. When I am tired and stressed it is harder to chop veggies and remember to write it all down.

you can get a ticker at www.choosing2lose.com this is my favorite sites because I like the backgrounds there.

You can also get one at www.3fatchicks.com, only I do not know where the link is to get them there. (that is a really good site to keep motivated too.)
