I must have a serious problem

I am sitting here feeling sick realizing that it will probably be difficult to ever get a villa at BLT or THV at 7 months. I am so crazy! Is anyone else so addicted that they feel this way? I need to just realize how blessed I am that I can actually to Disney so much and not worry about where I will never get to stay!

I am from the "I am happy to be there group" so I generally don't mind where I stay. (And not getting BLT won't be an issue, MK is my least favorite park which makes BLT pretty low on my list)

Take 2 aspirin and call your guide in the morning.

:rotfl2:

Seriously, I think you'll eventually get in.

Well, while I'd like to try out BLT or THV at 7 months sometime, it really doesn't bother me if neither is available any time soon. After all, we have years to try..and we are just as happy at our home resort of OKW.

There will be availability at both of the resorts at the 7 month mark.

The resort that might be the hardest could be GCV.

I'm also in the camp that it wont bother me if I don't ever get to stay at BLK(MK is our least fav too), but I liked the little models of the THV, and I'm hoping I can pull that one off some day.

You'll get into BLT at 7 months. Some times will be more difficult than others but it's a big place. There is so much inventory out there now. GCV will be harder since there is only one DVC out west.

I can understand the stress, I would just like to know that I got the dates/room size and view that I am interested in. After that it will be nice to be able to book airfare and all the ADR's that will be needed etc. I guess I am more anxious because this will be our "first trip home" since buying DVC and I guess I would hate to be shut out of our 1st choice the very first year. We'll see in a few weeks when BLT opens the reservation window.

With a wait list, both are likely to be reachable much of the year.

People have managed to get AKV Concierge at 7 months and there are only 10 rooms max (5 two bedrooms). I think flexibility is a big key but even without that I think you'll be able to try them out.

I too put myself in the "Just glad to be here" group.
The Dis helps me with my other related addonitus disease. SOON BWV SOON....lolpirate:

I'm sure you'll get to go eventually. {{{calmingvibes}}}

Me? I'm just so happy to buy into DVC after 8 long years wth no Disney that I probably care less about resort and room than most people.

If you told me I could go every year and we'd be staying at an All Star I'd still be doing the happy dance.:cool1: All I ask is that it be on-site.

I'm sure once my initial enthusiasm dies down I'll get a bit more picky, but right now I just consider myself lucky to be going. I know lots of people aren't this year.

Is there anyway two memebers can "switch points"? Because I own at both SSR and BLT, but would very much love to try BCV. Just wondering, I'm not sure if that's even possible. It would be nice to help each other out kind of thing.

You could each make a reservation for the other. There is a category for "Trades" on the Rent/Trade board. Be sure you read ALL the sticky threads at the top of that board before posting as the rules are very specific.

Member Services would basically consider it a mutual rental, ad will not become involved. It is a private transaction between the two owners.

Put me in the "even more happy to be a SSR owner" group. After being the "ugly step-sister" of resorts, it is nice to be desired!

But seriously, the tree house might be a little challenging at first, but I think BLT won't be a problem in the right seasons.

I think the higher point reqirements at BLT will likely make it possible to reserve at 7 months.

I am honestly "just happy to be there" too, but as we are looking to plan our October 2010 trip our top 3 choices are all in the "hard to get" category. We plan to stay in a studio (suffering from lack of points) and really want AKV concierge, BLT MK view or BCV.

That being said, our back up plan is AKV savannah view--not too bad for a back up -eh? ;) I mean, if that is "settling" than I can handle it.

I'm lucky in that OKW is my favorite resort, but actually, i've stayed at almost all of them now, except HHI and AKL. And right now, I just got a 7 month ressie at AKL as well.

You'll be able to stay there. Resorts go in and out of fashion.

I think THV would be the more difficult reservation to get simply due to the numbers of units. I think BLT shouldn't be that much of a problem unless you are looking at holidays.

I can see no reason to need to switch. I booked the BCV last week for May and for Aug. I got the exact days that I wanted. My home is Saratoga but we have only stayed there once.
