I got my new FIRM exercise video's in yesterday.

I was really busy last night, and didn't get home until after 10pm. I still had to pack for my trip today and opened the video at around midnight last night. I just thought I would look at it. Well it looked easy enough (of course she was only in the warm-up). So I pulled my fanny lifter and sculpting stick out (that thing is pretty darned heavy) and tried it. I couldn't even keep up with the steps in the warm up. They did some things sitting on the fanny lifter doing squats, and I could keep up for that for the most part (except when they stood and did these lunges/kick things.
Then they went to aerobics. So I thought cool, no fanny lifter or sclupting stick..........I should be ok with this. She started calling out all these moves and doing these fancy steps...............I was so lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I basically just stood there and looked at them. They were going so fast that I couldn't even catch what she was saying...........let alone try to move my feet the way they were.

Leslie Sansone in the WATP's does everything nice and simple for folks like me. I really hope I can get these moves down. Especially after shelling out $89. They do seem to look fun once you get them down..............but man they make me feel so lost and uncoordinated.

I guess when I am on my FIRM dates, I won't be getting much of a workout for a while!

Hi Melanie - first of all - way to go for trying something new.....

My sister has the Firm tapes w/ Fanny lifter (no stick) and she had a hard time getting started, but has since gotten better (still not always w/ the video tho). I think like with anything new it will just take time and practice - maybe I'll borrow this from my sister tonight so I can tell you tomorrow how uncoordinated I am :D :D :D LOL!!!

Keep it up - it WILL get better!

You'll get it down, I have confidence. :) It's just like any other involved thing -- you have to learn the moves first, and it'll take a while, but once you learn them they'll become second nature. :)

Good luck!!

You'll get it soon! I've been doing Firm tapes for about a year, and some are more difficult then others. But, if you just keep doing them, it becomes easier each time, something just clicks!! I really saw a change in my body when I started FIRMing, I really think they're great tapes. Good luck!!

LOL!! I have the tapes too! I was an athlete in h.s. and college but in my old age I have become sooooo uncoordinated or at least the Firm tapes make me think so!

It just takes time to get the routine down and they get easier!

I have laughed at myself so hard I have had to stop the tape and rewind!

Good luck!

Melissa

Melanie I"m so not laughing at you i'm laughing with you! I did the same thing two days again. I tried before and i thought because i was 240lbs maybe it'll be better but i have to tell you IT'S not.LOL I even watched the dang thing first last time to try to move along. But she's barkin moves i can't figure out and by the time i think i can step the step she's moving on without me. I agree i could do some of the slower pace movements. But she was jumping hopping to the side and then a kick thing and the arms strewn in some direction i was so confused.LOl Now the ab scuplt is wonderful and i highly recommend it. I just have not been able to follow the other two in my set. The ab one i'll do for a long time.LOl I love that one wonder why.:) I'm not giving up though i'll try again and agian and eventually maybe i'll get in half the tape.

Almost anything is hard the first time. Don't give up on it. I have found myself in your position -- you're so pumped up about the video, pop it in -- and then try for a minute or two and eventually end up standing there just watching and confused...lol. It's perfectly normally. Keep trying and soon you will have it down pat! And kudo's to you for trying something new! That's great!!

Melanie,

You are not alone. I thought the same way when I first stated with the Firm tapes. I don't have the stick thingy, just the fanny lifter. There is one move on my Cardio Sculpt tape where you are stepping up, then lunging back off, moving your arms at the same time and you keep switching feet back and forth. I thought I would never get that. It actually didn't click for a couple of months. I would just step up and down off the step during those difficult times. Eventually, it did click. I may be slower than most, ha!

Don't give up. I agree with the others who have used the Firm. It really does firm things up. I used it 4-5 times a week from Jan - May, took the summer off and just started up again last Wednesday. I feel firmer already.

Hang in there and Good Luck!

Lissa
