I recently started a new job and I get Christmas day through January 4 off. DH told me to book a WDW vacation. Are we crazy or what?! Any tips?

You know what you're getting yourself into (which is a good thing!) so just pack your patience. :upsidedow Utilize RD, late nights, and FP+, and develop a good touring plan. It's insanely crowded but also one of my favorite times to visit simply because of the atmosphere. Our Christmas trips are more about taking in the ambiance and people watching than anything else.

KMB, I just agreed with you on another thread and I will do here as well! We've done WDW at that time of year many, many times. We have always found rope drop to be the trick....get there early, you'll be amazed how much you can get done. And at that time of year, I believe hoppers are incredibly helpful. If you are staying on site, take advantage of AM EMH, and then hop out for lunch, pool, nap, what have you, when the crowds descend. Generally we go to another park for dinner/fireworks later.

We haven't been since FP+ has been introduced, but my plan would be to do rope drop at the am emh park, and then schedule our FPs for our second park.

Regardless....it's a fun time of year! And as KMB said, you are aware of what you're getting into, so that's half the battle. :thumbsup2

You can do it! We had a blast in 2012 and will do it again this Dec!

Rope Drop.
Effective use of a touring plan
Rope Drop. :D

Patience.

Late nights that aren't EMH - we rode walk on rides between 10p-1am in the MK. so much so we didnt even have to get off of some of them to ride again! In line to meet princesses at 12:59am - and had a blast. :D

Thank you for the replies!! :goodvibes We are going to aim for the rope drop! Great idea!! :thumbsup2 We've been so many times that if we get to ride 5 rides (including FP+) per day I'll be happy. We love hanging out at the pool and we love the Disney parks when they are decorated for the Holidays!

My resort is booked, already have premium annual passes, so now I need to figure out a creative way to get to Florida without paying premium seasonal air prices. :rolleyes1

It is crazy crowded but it is amazing!!! It is our favorite time of the year. We will be back this year. We do RD and late nights.
Remember to pack extra patience ;)
