I must be a snob!

I know the feeling.

On our last couple of trips we did the moderates. And that was a step up because before we were married we had tons of trips to Disney and they were all off site. Didn't know any better.

Our next trip is a treat from my Mother in Law. She gave us an incredible budget and I've booked the Polynesian lagoon view for 4 nights and then the AKL concierge for 5 nights. Because it is 7 of us going we of course need 2 rooms.

What in the world am I going to do when I have to pay for my own trip next time. After doing concierge and the deluxes, I'm sure I'll be hooked.

Oh well, enjoy it for now and take out a loan for the next trip.:p

I know what you mean Lizzie.

Believe me you find a way! We bought the kids a new car and I swore we would give up a trip and we did, but they wouldn't give up concierge. They said they would rather just stay home, talk about being a snob!;)

LvsTnk - that is too funny!!!!!
It sounds like you have created a "monster":p
Well its good to know that there is a new generation of Disney snobs right behind us!

...does your mother-in-law wanna adopt any daughter-in-laws??!?!?

But seriously, being a DS (Dis-snob) isn't the WORST thing in the world!! Not experiencing Disney is:( !!

Too funny kimmar067 - I think I'm about all she can handle. LOL

We are truly lucky. She came into a little inheritance and decided to take each of her children and their families on whatever vacation they wanted.

Well my 2 sister in laws wanted Hawaii. They thought we were crazy to pass it up. Especially when we said we wanted to do Disney. But hey - to each his own.

And frankly poly and akl concierge to me is a dream.

Maybe one of the kids will forgo college so we can do concierge again. LOL (oh and I was just kidding);) :p

gonga,

That's 3 monsters and one GIANT sized one (DH)! Curses to my MIL who started the whole thing with her DS!!:teeth:

This thread is just cracking me up.. LOL

I read the whole thing today - one by one with a coffee.

It's so nice to know I am in such good company ~ everytime I ready a post - it's like I wrote it... but I didn't.

I don't feel so alone anymore...

>>^..^<<

It has gotten so bad that I have my mom convinced now too!! She wanted me to cancel our reservations (off site) for March 22nd to do conceirge now!! I told her not this time but we will have a lot of fun planning our next trip! We are actually looking MORE forward to our next visit than we are for our visit in March...

By the way I am taking the DVC tour just to see what I am missing.... Why do I torture myself?

I too, love reading all these posts. I truly laughed at the post by "disneyvoice", where her sister exclaimed " there was no way they would spend those "outrageous" rates just to stay on WDW property." After some research, she finds her sister paid MORE off-prop, then they do ON property in a WDW hotel! YEAH...I LOVE these stories! ;)

Also, love the ones from " LvsTnk" about the KIDS & "lizzie64" about the NEXT TRIP after the SPLURGE! I could have written these very posts as well! I often wonder about the "standards" which we've instilled in DD. She loves the "good life" (Concierge, FC travel, suites, etc.). It is difficult to go back, once we have "tasted" opulence. :p

You said it all, KIMMAR~"But seriously, being a DS (Dis-snob) isn't the WORST thing in the world!! Not experiencing Disney is !!" DITTO! ;)

"Ain't it the truth, ain't it the truth???!?!!?"

lizzie64: now you've gotten me G R E E N with envy...The Poly is my next dream destination!!!!! Make sure to have moment of silence when you are sipping on that first Kona coffee;) !!

Disneyitis (Dis ney i' tis) n 1.condition related to the uncontrollable
desire to return to the World. Subjects with this condition are known to
frequent notefiles, web pages, and newsgroups. Only known relief is a trip
to Walt Disney World. There is no permanent cure....and no cure is being
researched as those afflicted don't WANT one! Has also been known to infect
Disneylanders. People who suffer from Disneyitis have also been known to
spend an unusual amount of time at their local Disney Stores to temporarily
relieve some of the symptoms associated with the disease. They will also
tape,watch,re-watch,and re-re watch Disney videos,specials,parades,vacation
planners, etc. Also will subscribe to Disney Magazine, and will read every
brochure on Disney they can get their hands on. They will sport hats, coats
jackets, pants, and carry bags with Disney logos. Can't go more than one
full year without going to the world without becoming suicidal,or worse,
Homicidal! And no matter how many vacation days they take, they always seem
to get ticked off at everything one or even two days before they have to
leave the world and go back to the rat race.

How true! You gave me a good chuckle with your definition. :)

Just spent an hour and a half at my local disney store. Gazing at all the stuffed animals, longing for my Buzz and Peter, salivating at the park hoppers passes.

Snap out of it fool - Come back to reality.

68 days to go.
