What is the point of the photopass? I can understand if you want that one magical photo of you and your family in front of Cinderella Castle with Tink sprinkling pixie dust on your vacation or have your youngster hold Tink while standing in front of the Castle. But...For everything else? I know I'm young, but I remember the good ol' days where my mom asked the character attendent to take a picture with the whole family plus the mouse. Or when I watch home videos in big, VHS format, you can hear my mother trying to coax me into looking at the camera while I insist at staring at the Beast. But since I started working here....I noticed how much they push the photopass. (This is all prompted by an email saying that I can get the Disney photo CD thing for a mere $100-a 20% saving! Could we make it 40% by adding my discount?)
One of my first days in the park, way back in January, I went to the MK judge's tent to see the Princesses and the character attendent kept PUSHING me to take the photopass even after I clearly stated that I'd rather use my camera. Now, I know some of the photographers will be nice enough to use your camera for the pictures that really matter (i.e. The BIG one with Cinderella and you smiling and what not) and I apprciate these cast members because they don't paint me into a corner of actually using that photopass card. I, for one, have never liked the idea of photopass and after receiving that email, I don't think I ever will use a photo pass card again.
$100 dollars to get pictures that you can take off of your personal camera and print them for $.25 at your local CVS....
