I was going through old pictures and found this:

We had this mickey statuette made of butter at CRT in 1998. I haven't seen it anywhere since then. We thought it was the coolest butter... EVER! :lmao:

(apologies for the picture quality... camera flash and butter do not mix well)

Awww that's so cute! I never see cute things like this in resturants, why did they stop doing this? Nice pic :thumbsup2

I remember the Mickey butter! Our first trip was in '93 and we ate breakfast at Tony's at MK on our first day. We were all so impressed by the butter! :lmao:

1) We had this is 1989 at breakfast.
2) They were so cute and made WDW so special.
3) You know, just one of those MANY tiny touches.

They had that @ CRT back when the menu was different. That was good stuff. My 31year old brother LOVED Mickey butter & brings it up often enough.Had a laugh when I saw ur post. Ya, like why not bring it back?

That is so cool. I'm sure it was a cost cutting measure. It's cheaper to just toss a few pre-wrapped butter pats on a plate or slice a piece of butter vs. paying someone to mold the butter either into these cool statues or press the various imprints into custom pats, then unmold them.

It's a shame. This is wonderful.

This is the sort of thing that makes me a little sad about the direction the parks in general are headed in. This was a relatively easy thing to do, that maybe cost them some labor, but certainly nothing crazy. They keep taking away these tiny details, but continue to raise their prices and give us less and less for more money.

Brings back good memories. I miss all that specialized butter to. I can remember being a preteen and thinking that was the BEST. Ahhhh the little details

Back in the late 70's and 80's....many a trip we took and always stayed at the Contemporary Resort....the gameroom took our breath away....Gulf Coast Room, Pueblo Restaurant with the wheeled padded chairs, under the monorail....and yes....the mickey butter pats...just attention to little details made us wanting to keep coming back...alot of changes over the years....some good, some not so good....but we still enjoy.....

This is EXACTLY the way we feel!:sad2:

Not only did they have Mickey butter, they also had apple butter, too. Wish they'd bring those back. :sad1:

I remember that! We never really ate at restaurants in the parks when I was a kid, so when we had my eigth birthday dinner at Cinderella's castle it was really memorable. Well, that and my dad thought it was funny to cut off Mickey's head. But his sense of humor is a little twisted like that.
