We are currently at WDW, and it is our first trip here. The bright spot of our trip has been the Nick hotel where we are staying (fabulous hotel!). I am not sure what it is, and I don't want to start a debate, but after several trips to Dland, this visit to WDW is just not the same for me. There are so many things I like better at Dland, that I find myself missing that experience while out here in WDW. Has anyone else ever felt this way? I just don't "feel the magic" out here. :confused3

Personally I prefer Disneyland. mostly because of the proximity of everything. I do love Disneyworld, but if given the choice, want to go the original.
I'm so glad they brought Tower of Terror to Disneyland! That just makes it complete.
I hope you enjoy your time there, and watch for the unexpected differences. I found that to be very enjoyable!
ENJOY!

I love Disneyland and can understand how you can miss it. Hopefully you can come back soon. We are going to Disney World this summer and would LOVE to hear about your experience at the Nick Hotel. I want to stay there this summer. What kind of room did you get, and did you request a certain one beforehand? :flower:

Hi there,

I can understand how you would miss Disneyland, it IS the Original Magic Kingdom, after all. Try seeing WDW for the vacation destination that it is. There are so many fun things to do there. When we went, we only spent a little time at the Magic Kingdom, and spent more time exploring Epcot, MGM, & Animal Kingdom. I was able to enjoy the parks for what they have to offer. Hope you can do the same. :)

We just got back from six days in WDW. We went to the Magic Kingdom on three different occaisions. Two at night and one afternoon. I agree, I just could not feel the magic there. It didn't work for me. That could be because every corner I turn in DL brings back memories of family and friends and WDW didn't have that for me. I loved their Tomorrowland but did not like their Fantasyland. I thought Liberty Square was o.k. and did find their Haunted Mansionn to be quite good. Missed the Matterhorn, and Alice and Mr. Toad and StorybookLand and Casey Jr and Toontown and so forth. Adventureland was pretty nice. Enjoyed Cinderellabration and the castle is gorgeous but I just didn't get that special magical feeling.

Having been twice to Disneyland (2 weeks in 2002 and 4 weeks in 2004) we decided to dive WDW a try this year...BIG MISTAKE!!!
We didn't "feel the magic" either, yes, it was nice but the weather was awful (first 2 weeks in July) and the transport is terrible.
We missed Disneyland so much that we are desperately trying to get there again in August 2006, it just costs so much.
Love Ella
P.S. we did enjoy Discovery Cove though.

We have been to DL many times and we LOVE it. Last summer we tried WDW for the first time. We had a terrific time overall but did not really enjoy the Magic Kingdom. We all agreed that it lacked the magic of Disneyland (our favourite!) and really paled in comparison. We will return to WDW in the future but don't think we will bother with MK again. The rest of the parks are great and the experience is so different from DL that the two locations (outside of DL and MK) can't really be compared.

I can relate! We really enjoyed the MK - but not the same as DL.... Our favorite at the World is EPCOT - and that one park will bring us back to WDW again and again - they really did it right there! :flower:

I can understand how you feel! I think you always love your "home park" , the one that you are the most used to, know where everything is and the one that has all those special memories. We love MK and certainly spend a lot of time there enjoying our favorites: Mickey's Philharmagic, Wishes, Spectro and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. But we enjoy Disneyland's Fantasyland so much more as well as POC, Space Mountain and just the overall feel of Disneyland itself. We do however love WDW due to Epcot, Animal Kingdom and all the onsite lodging and dining choices. We probably like MGM the least of any Disney park but still enjoy our time there. I love both DL and WDW but the charm and Walt factor at Disneyland just makes it number one for us. We also love DCA and just don't get what all the negativity surrounding that park is all about :confused3 .
