I know, we miss bear too. My DS asked where he was when we went to Hollywood Studios this past February. Last year, my daughter cried because Rolie Polie Olie was no longer there. I buy the Rolie Polie Olie dvd's and we watch them sometimes. I did not see Bear anywhere but on the signs. Oh well. :sad1: RIP Bear :sad1:

I loved Bear, too. My DS (7) has the huge Bear beanbag chair that we got from the Disney Store. He still hangs out in it. (And tries to pile it into his bed to sleep with.)

I know that I've seen the DVD's at Best Buy. I know that a couple of years ago, the Disney Channel would run it at 4 or 5 in the morning. If they still do, it's at weird hours.

What is there now? I didn't bother to go back there to Playhouse Disney since my kids are older, but I didn't realize it was gone either.

I miss "Out of the Box". My son was 3 when we watched that show together - and he and I would always sing the last song...

"So Long, Farewell, to you, my friend,
It's time to go, until we meet again.
It's been great to play and sing together,
and now it's time to say good bye... (little hand clapping part.)
So Long, Farewell, to you my friend,
It's time to go, until we meet again.
It's time to go, until we meet again."

Right around that time, my son's grandfather died. At the funeral, they asked if anyone wanted to say anything. Without any prompting, my DS3 volunteered to go up, and he sang that song to his grandfather -- he even paused to make the little hand clap part. There was not a dry eye in the house.

What is there now? I didn't bother to go back there to Playhouse Disney since my kids are older, but I didn't realize it was gone either.

I'm trying to remember. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pooh and Friends, Handy Mandy and Little Einsteins. My kids liked the new addtions but really missed Bear, Stanley and Rolie.

Another mom missing Bear here! My oldest two kids are 8 & 6, and we used to watch Bear (and PB & J Otter and Out of the Box) when they were little. Bear was our absolute favorite! My youngest is 15 mos and he loves to watch the Bear videos that we have. I bought him some Bear DVD's on eBay this Christmas. Who am I kidding, I bought those DVD's for me...but I'll let him watch them. :rotfl:

Luckily, we still have all of the stuffed toys and the plastic Blue House playset, but we'll still miss Bear on TV and at WDW.

now my oldest is 15 ..She used to watch puzzle place and the voice of leon I think was bear:angel: . Yes I do miss bear my youngest is 4.:grouphug:

ot
dose anyone else have a child that watched puzzle place..
do you think leon was bear?

My dd7 was so in to bear and rolie polie olie we was little. I miss them we have tapes for both but its not the same. I can remember when my dd was two and she started preschool they had show and tell every day and every day she would bring her bear he was so worn that he had a little whole in him on day about two or three years ago my MIL decided she was going to throw him away and she did I was devastated b/c I have had every intention of putting him in her memory box. We do still have her big bear and Ojo that we got her in disney though. I can remember when my dd was 3mths old she would sit in front of the tv and not move and be completely silent when rolie polie olie came on and she then moved on to bear. The only thing I wish the most is that we would have been able to see them in disney to take pictures with them but we never did.

Playhouse Diney but at like 10pm. So I tape it for my 3 yr old!!!

Just an FYI...if you're looking for Bear in the Big Blue House dvd's that you might not have, try your local library. I found ours has several available for check-out! My 4 year old twins LOVE bear. We really missed him in JAN at Playhouse in Hollywood Studios.

Its not on here anymore we have three different disney channels and it doesn't come on any of them so you are lucky it was cute show as my dd got older she really enjoyed watching it.

Our house misses Bear, too. DD9 watched him all the time when she was little, but DS4 has only known him through DVD's and Breakfast with Bear. We knew he'd be leaving Playhouse Disney Live! at MGM (yes, I know it's DHS now, but it'll always be MGM to me) so we caught the show several times during our last trip. :(

We love bear and ollie. My DS6 loved Bear, we still have his stuffy, one of the few he kept. We have a few DVDs that all the kids love to watch. I miss Ollie more. It was one of my absolute favorite kid shows ever. All 3 of my kids love Ollie. We still read the bedtime book at least once a week, "Ollie's super silly ray" and wish we could find the show. Has anyone seen episodes on DVD? We have the movies, but would love the show.

On Playhouse Disney Australia, there was such an uproar when Bear was removed, he was returned to our screens at 7pm each night. DD is now 5 1/2, but around a year ago when it was off, she was devistated. As it's 7pm, it serves as her quiet time (books are in the afternoon) and she is ready for sleep at 7.30.

Also last year they also removed Stanley and Rollie Poly Ollie. Fortunatley, somehow, they returned them also.

DS (now 8) loved Bear! That was such a great show. I used to record it for him(yes- video, pre- DVR days!) and could always pull out one of those tapes to give him some quiet time! DD is 5 and still likes to read some of the Bear books that we have.

A funny/cool thing is that the actress who was the voice of Luna was from our town and my son's school is named after her- Lynne Thigpen Elementary! There is a display in a glass cabinet in the school with pictures of her and he was amazed when I told him that she was Luna!

:)

We love bear too...especially Luna and the goodbye song...but I am happy that they changed up the playhoouse disney show...it needed a rehab bad.:)
