There are things about this job I like but there are things I hate.

For instance there is a patient from August that I still haven't been paid for. I was asked to see this patient... she is new and was having some problems. then after the fact there was an insurance issue, and the nursing home was supposed to pay our company directly since they practically begged me to see this patient. ( we have seen patients with this same insurance in the past, there was no reason to believe it would be a problem)

so they are dragging their heels paying, and my company has not paid me for the work I did.
I kept reminding my boss about this, because at year end things have to be resubmitted or its a lost cause.
finally she told me to put in for administrative time for it.

finally. she should have done that months ago as it is not fair for me to do work and not be paid. I thought I had been more than patient since I saw this patient in August and it is now December.

the other thing is I can never be sure I will be paid for all the units I bill in a pay period.
I am not paid by the hour, but am paid for the billing I submit.
like today is pay day and my check is about $100 less than what I thought it should be based on the units I submitted.

when I get my paperwork tomorrow or the next day I will see why. ........ Usually its an insurance issue, like certain ones require authorized visits so They have to call to get more, but they won't pay me, they note it in my check paperwork, then I call the office tell them to call for more visits. then I have to resubmit the paperwork.

the benefits are the flexible schedule, I can basically make my schedule, the hours and days I want to work.

but not being able to count on my check amount really bugs me. Especially when the discrepancy is a large amount. I have had even larger discrepancies in the past. They always rectify everything..........eventually, but sometimes I wait a month or more ( usually more )to be paid for some of my billing.

I have had other companies like this one approach me about jobs, so I know there are jobs out there like this one.

and there is always the option of going back into primary care.

but then I have a set in stone schedule, for this job I don't , I can change my schedule as needed.

so it is a matter of giving up flexibility to have a job that actually pays me correctly and on time.
maybe I just needed to vent today. I don't know.

I'm right there with you. I am glad to have a job but I can not stand mine. I work in a call center for a major bank and we have such strict call metrics/sales quotas to meet that the stress is eating me alive! I want to look for another job but I have been on work comp for several months due to an injury, so until my hand heals I'm stuck in the muck. good luck on your search!

I hope you get unstuck soon!

I do like my job overall, just the little snag about not being paid properly most of the time:sick:
