One thing that I forgot to add is that if you have any other pets make sure they get along with them. For example, if you have a cat (or other small animal including rats, hamsters, rabbits, etc.), you wouldn't want to get an adult huky unless you know for sure that it is good around cats (huskies like to chase small animals). If you get a puppy, you can get just about any breed because if he/she is raised with another animal, they will be able to get along with most of the time. I had a husky and she got along GREAT with my cat. One fact to consider is that once a dog hits the age of 2, they become harder to adopt out of humane societies. If you are busy, an older dog (I don't mean like 8 or 10, although that would be very kind if you did) would be great for you. You won't have to worry about house breaking and, if you are lucky, they might be already trained.
