The Hospice care workers seem so wonderful. They are so caring... We may not have a lot of time left, the nurse kind of hinted that we need to be prepared now. We had thought maybe three months by the doctors words, but things seem to be more progressed than was originally thought.

The counselor was at Moms house this afternoon, and met with the family. They left us a booklet on what the progress will be, and we are seeing a lot of the signs already, that Mom is prparing to go.

Moms official diagnosis is renal failure, due to her diabetes. She refused dialysis about two months ago, because she didn't want to prolong her suffering, she said she wanted to get it over with and just move on.

I tried to be supportive, but I dont want her to move on.:(

Thank you all for the prayers, and kind thoughts.......

I am so sorry about your precious mom, TinkerPixie. My thoughts will be with you. :(

So sorry for what you're going through. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Sorry to read about your MOM, Tinker:( :( :( . I've had several patients over the years who finally decided to end dialysis treatment. I would have to say that each one of them truly seemed at peace with the decision.

My best to you and your family,

Tinker~ I'm sorry to hear such sad news...:( {{{hugs}}}

We have used Hospice three times. (2 of my wife's brothers and her father) The Hospice people were all wonderful and really helped with the stress. My prayers will be with you.

That aside, my wifes mother has been on dialysis for a year now and is doing great. I fact she is in our kitchen now whupping my wife at Uno.

Oh Susan. I'm so sorry. :( My heart is breaking along with yours. I can imagine how hard it is to let your mother go. {{{{Hugs}}}} I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. Hospice is a wonderful organization and helps both the patient and their family to cope the best way possible. It helps with a dignified way to dying.

God Bless you all.

Oh, Im so sorry to hear this. I know how hard it is. We went through this with FIL this summer. The first diagnosis was 3-6 months, then it was a month, and he was gone in 2 weeks . It was amazing how fast it happened, but we all admit it was for the best. As hard as it is to let someone go, its best that they dont suffer.
More Prayers & Pixie Dust on the way!!!!

Oh sweetie, what a difficult time this must be for you, I can't even imagine what it must be like. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie, remember that we are always here for you when you need to talk.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We had hospice with my dad and they are a special group of people and I feel very fortunate they were apart of our lives.
Seeing a love one die is such a hard part of life. But I must tell you the day my dad died was such a peaceful moment. He died with us and as much as I hated his leaving I understood. If that makes sense.
Take this time to reflect and talk! It means so much! Bless you and your family

I am so sorry to hear that you are experiencing these difficult days. I will be praying for your strength and peace. I lost my mom and dad 8 years ago and I can remember how impossible the letting go was. Sometimes it still feels just surreal. It is a testament to the love you share with your mom that it is so hard to say goodbye. I feel for you so much!! It will be ok.. that's all I can tell you. Somehow, it is all going to be ok... I am praying for you.

I am sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this but I hope the hospice people will help you deal with this difficult time. When my grandmother passed away the hospice was a godsend to my mother and the rest of the family.

:( I'm sorry to hear that you're going through all this with your mom. If it's her decision, I can see how you would need to honor that decision. That's probably one of the toughest things in the world to do.:( {{hugs}}

Hospice workers are the most kind caring people I've ever met. They came for daddy and were always so upbeat. Besides that they can get the patient to do almost anything they want without them even realizing they are. ;) May God give you peace and comfort.

I'm so sorry. I am glad that you have the hospice people to help. I'm sure the stress is unreal for all of you. I'll be praying for peace and also your mother's comfort.

Again, Susan, so sorry to hear this. As said, hospice can be a great comfort at a time like this. My prayers are with your mom, you and your family, Susan. {{Hugs}}
