I may need help understanding....?

I booked a one B/R at BLT next August (my home resort) for 6 nights....with the intention of "possibly" changing to a one B/R at OKW because we can stay there for 10 nights. When I did this I had to bank 60 points from this use year.....

If I do change to OKW will there be a problem because of the banked points? I was hoping to do an even exchange kind of thing but it occurred to me I may have jumped on BLT too soon. Will those 60 points go into "holding"...and all that goes along with it? Or am I okay?

Sorry...owner since 2009 and NEVER banked or had points go into holding. My use year is August

If you make the change more than a month out, your points won't go into holding.

If the OKW reservation takes fewer points, the unneeded ones will go back to the use year they came from, which would include the banked points returning to the use year into which you banked them (not their original year).

If you haven't passed your banking window for the non-banked points (which is March 31 for an August use year), you can talk to MS to make sure they use all the banked points for the OKW reservation, then whatever is returned can still be banked to the following year. If you are already past your banking window at that point, returned points will stay where they are and you would have to use them by the end of your use year.
