In his troop, the only boys who seem to advance quickly are the leaders' sons. There are two merit badges for which he completed all the requirements about 3 months ago, but no one ever seems to have the time to check him out on them.

Congratulations!!! I know it's alot of hard work, but I know you've learned and grown alot also. Two of my brothers are Eagle Scouts and my oldest son just earned his Bear and is moving on to the Webelos.

Scouting is an excellent program.

Congratulations! You must be SOOOO proud of yourself. Our son is now a boy scout and has been involved for 5 years -- he is working on his fire safety merit badge. I really want him to keep going to become an Eagle. It is an amazing accomplishment. I hope he has your dedication for the long haul.

My DH is an Eagle Scout (once an ES, always an ES). He was presented his Eagle award from President Gerald Ford. He said it was the most amazing day (even if it did take place in a corn field next to the train tracks [security reasons]. He sat on many ES review boards before DS was even old enough to join Tigers.

DH has now been Assistant Den Leader for 3 dens of Tigers, Den Leader for DSs Den/Patrol, Cub Master and now Committee Chairman. He could hardly wait for DS to get in first grade to join scouts. DS in now a 2nd year Webelo looking at the local troops.

There is an amazing set of statistics somewhere that lists how many presidents, astronauts, etc. have been ESs.

Congratulations on your award and thank you for choosing a project that can help so many.

Stay involved and help guide those boys that are coming up through the ranks. It may be one of the most important things you can do with your life.

Congratulations! As an Eagle Scout myself, I can truly appreciate the sacrifice and effort you put forth.

I still have the video of my Eagle Court of Honor. I recently converted it from a VHS tape to DVD. And I still have the letters that President Reagan and President Ford sent to me.

I'd counsel you to continue to seek out ways to grow as a person and as a leader. Eagle Scout is a wonderful achievement and speaks volumes about your character and personal initiative. Don't stop there though.

ps. skip summer camp for the Jamboree. I was on staff at the Jamboree in 1988. I did the Brownsea Island troop that recreated the first ever scout camp with Baden Powell. It was much better than a week at summer camp. I'm sure you can apply to be on staff. It's worth it!

My DS 16 has been a life scout for 2 years all he has to do is his project....I just hope he finishes soon...he's done so well in scouting....

My son was accepted to the engineering school he wanted to attend, while a friend with better grades and a higher SAT score was turned down. The difference was his Eagle Scout Award and a Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
