I made a mistake. Is it wrong to ask?

I have a short trip coming up for Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party on Friday. Bringing two of my dearest friends in the world for the weekend. I thought I would be at a work conference until Friday morning.

A botched procedure in Montana led to an emergency hysterectomy so I am at the tail end of my medical leave.

I have been looking to add Thursday to the weekend so I can prepare the villa for my guests. I have 4 Owners' Lockers and know the 4:00 p.m. room assignment will conflict with the start of the party but didn't think I could do anything about it as I assumed I would be far, far away in the midwest.

I have been stalking day and night to add an extra night for a 2 bed for Thursday so I can prep everything. I am suffering from menopause brain - never thought it was real but I assure you, it is. One car accident - my fault and nearly a second; hoping it is anesthesia and not lifelong.

The problem: As I have been stalking constantly; the 2 bed at OKW openmed up and I clicked on it without a functional brain. Unfortunately, it is the "Near Hospitality House". The rest of my reservations is for a regular 2 bed which is what I prefer. I have never wanted to stay near the hospitality house (and points were never the issue).

It's too late to cancel it - leaving in 2 days. Should I ask at the front desk if they can join the reservation and join it to the other? Someone could get an upgrade should they be there for an extra night - I certainly don't want the point difference. It is it a huge Disney Crime? DVC crime? Completely uncouth? Has anyone ever done it before? It is a waste of time?

The front desk folks know me well as I am there quite often - always pleasant.

Thank you in advance.

I don’t think it’s wrong to ask but the staff might not have the room available to make the switch. Hope it works out and you have a great trip, sounds like you need it!

Doesn’t hurt to ask… points are the same so no difference there… but it requires that there be availability. They can’t solve your problem if it creates one for someone else.

Do take it easy… it can be a difficult recovery. Wishing you a wonderful trip!

I'd call MS tomorrow, before you arrive, to see if they are able to assist. They would/should contact the resort.

BTW - it's no point difference for Hospitality House or non-HH category. It's just a way to designate what buildings the rooms might be in.

Would you call MS or Front Desk?

Please update us if you call!

I have a similar situation going on at the Polynesian... Had to add a night and could only book it in lake view studio, but I'd MUCH rather just stay in our standard view another night! I still have a little time for the wait list to come through

Definitely call MS. If you call “front desk” you’ll probably get someone in a call center somewhere who doesn’t understand what you’re asking and can’t help if they do. The Front Desk might be able to help if you’re standing there in person.
