I made a HUGE mistake

If you activate the annual pass on April 30, 2006, then you can use it from April 30, 2006 THROUGH (not just 'to' or 'until') April 30, 2007--at least that's the way they explained it to me at the ticket window when we bought our APs--and our APs have the word 'through' on the back. Technically, the pass ends at the end of the day on April 30, 2007. You shouldn't have to worry about this, though, since your 2007 trip ends on April 28th.

Here's one other little issue.

What happens when you upgrade is you are charged the difference between what Ticketmania PAID Disney and the AP price. That will probably be LESS then what you paid Ticketmainia. (I have no idea what the markup is on tickets!)

You wouldn't happen to know the hours of the Downtown Disney Guest Relations, would you? We would need to go in the evening, probably after dinner. Thanks!

Does anyone have the answer to this? Thanks again!

What credit amout would Disney give you if you bought discounted tickets from Ticket Mania and then upgraded them towards AP's? Would you get the Disney gate price, Disney pre purchase price or the actual amount you paid to Ticket Mania. If you bought 10 day MYW tix with all options I think you could save about $45 per ticket.

I'm just wondering if this is a way to actually get AP's at a discount since I have found no other way to get a discount (unless you are FL resident).

I think that I would get the Disney pre-purchase price because they are Disney pre-purchased tickets. Ticket Mania sells them just as the Disney Store, I think??

DTD Guest Relations is open as long as DTD is. 11 PM?

Yeah, I don't know what Ticket Mania paid either. How will Disney be able to know, so that I pay what the actual difference is??

I certainly don't want to pay more than I should be paying, based on what I paid Ticket Mania in the first place. I hope that there is a way for them to accurately check. Ugh!

Anyone know anything about this??

You will be charged the difference between Disney's price for the tickets you purchased and Disney's price for an Annual pass.

So the regular Disney price for my tickets will be deducted from the annual passholder rate? That makes sense.

Does Disney have a way to track where tickets were purchased, because sometimes we buy direct from the Disney Store, sometimes from the park windows and sometimes from Ticket Mania.?

Just wanted to add that you can also upgrade through the mail if you are not actually in WDW (Call them for the address). :thumbsup2 And yes, I bought mine through AAA and they said I could upgrade up until 14 days after the first use of the tickets, so your tickets should be fine!

Lorelai,

Have you considered a 10 day PH? For just a very few dollars more, you can get the 10 PH, no expiration, water park fun and more. Dh and I almost got an AP but since we're not totally sure that we'll get back within the year's time on the AP, we went the 10 PH no expiration route. This way, if something comes up that prevents us from going more than once in the year's time, it will be okay because of the no expiry option. We can go this year and if it's 4 years before we get to go again, our tickets will still be good to go. Of course, that would NEVER happen! :teeth: Just an idea. It also depends on the number of days you'll be staying for both trips, 5 days one trip 7 the next? Then, the 10 day would not work for you and the AP would be the best avenue.

Do know that with the AP comes the free park parking, some meal discounts, etc. So, if that stuff matters to you, you might want to go the AP way.

Just some thoughts on the matter.

You know, I never thought about that either. We would probably do 4 or 5 days this trip, and then 6 or 7 next April. Hmmm, it does give me something to think about. Thanks!
