We had planned a brief WDW trip for a few days last Thanksgiving. We decided to stay at Pop Century for a few days. It seamed to be too much trouble to bring the camper and set up for just a few days. Yes, it was nice for a change to have no chores to do, no dogs to walk, no check-ins at the kennel. We got up early every day and were at the parks before opening. We did all the best rides and attractions early before it got crowded, so that part was good. But, that's it. There was nothing else to do and we spent all day at the parks. The goal of having more time to have fun was great, but boy was it tiring. Plus with no free dining, we spent a LOT of money on Disney food and drinks. I can't believe we did not stay at the Fort! It's so much better than a hotel. I even missed some of my "chores" like walking my 2 Huskys 3 or 4 times a day. Having most meals at the camp is a bit of a chore, but its also better and saves so much money. The best part of the trip was the day we went to the Fort for the HDHR. It was great as usual. We had a GC reserved so we picked it up and enjoyed looping for an hour before the show. After dinner we looped for while more before we headed back to the hotel. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing evening. Well, we will never go back to WDW unless its to stay at our beloved Fort Wilderness. Now we are working on ways to make our trips to the Fort even better, but that's a story for another post.
