I live in NC, as some of you know from the southern food thread, I think where I live is great because I am 1 1/2 hours to the mountains, 4 1/2 hours to Myrtle Beach and 20 minutes to Charlotte. The people are so friendly, the food is so good. The only things that are troublesome are the heat, humidity and mosquitos. Other than that, I love my home state. What is great about your state?

Home of the bravest, toughest and most resilient people in the world. Not to mention Niagra Falls, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, the Yankees and the Rangers. 9/11/01 NY will never forget.

Love CT except for the summer with the heat, humidity, & mosquitos [but I do mange to tolerate it]
rolling hills, rivers, lakes, Long Island Sound, fall colors, county fairs, 60 minutes to NYC, 2 hours to Boston, 6 Flags in MA, NY, & NJ for when I can't get a WDW fix. Can't ask for more. Well I can but this will do for now.

Yes, all that - I'd add the Bills and the Sabres, but that might tarnish the image a bit. ;)

Besides the $#%^$#@! SNOW today we love where we live in the foothills of the Adrirondack mountains. The four seasons are great although our favorite is the fall when it is chilly and we can have a fire in the yard with friends after doing yard work all day. We are close enough to the suburbs and to the cities, NY ,Boston and Montreal.
Hey Disney loves our hometown so much they are making a new DVBC resort named after it!My kids can't wait to wear their Saratoga Springs Cross Country shirts their!

I live in Central Mass.....its a short drive to the BEAUTIFUL Berkshire Hills where I grew up, with gorgeous bigger than life fall color....It just isnt Christmas unless its a white Christmas in New England with snowflakes making it just right to cuddle inside by the fire with DH ....or apple-picking at Nashoba Valley Winery in the fall with friends and the dog. And we're so close to the heart of American History, Boston, with the North End dining, Mike's Pastry, Fenway park, I could go on but......

......I'm trying not to stay too attached. I am 32 yo and have lived here all but 9 mos of my life. DH has been lucky in his USAF assignments, but in 3 years we must move finally.....

I've made a promise to him that I'll go if its FL and closer to WDW!!!!! :smooth:

My state's right next to North Carolina! I live in South Carolina about 50 miles south of Charlotte. Like you, we live so close to the beach and mountains.

Nothing could be finer than to be in Caroliner ........

Poohbear, you're adding to my homesickness! You definately summed up the state.
I love Mass, and I can't wait to be back in May.. never realized how much I liked having the ocean nearby, until I ended up far from it!

I hear ya! We lived in Columbus, OH for a year while Dh was assigned there... I am not knocking the midwest, but it is SO different from New England!! Couldnt wait to get back home!

Funny thing is, I dont enjoy the beach that much. DH grew up on the Cape so he loves it!

Can't wait for it to really be spring here so I can enjoy it! It snowed today!!!
