My family and I ...DH, Me, 3 kids, 2 in-laws...are going to get Tonga Toast. I love it, love it, love it! But, we are eating on the cheap this trip per in-laws preferences. Should we get it at Kona Cafe, which is a nice place to eat, or at Capt. Cook's and eat by the Volcano Pool?

There are pro's and con's for both. What is your opinion?

BTW, this could be one of 2 TS meals for the trip.

The Tonga Toast is the same at either location..so don't waste a TS credit on Kona Cafe for breakfast...Kona Cafe is not good economically on the meal plan..because it is on the cheaper side for breakfast... Capt. Cook's has a nice outdoor area where it is really nice to eat..the only issue is the annoying birds outside and it is not easy to get a table during breakfast time.

Thanks for the comment Joenan88. I was hoping the Tonga Toast was the same at both places!

Yes, it's the same at both places.. but its about 2.00 or so cheaper (mabye more) at CC.
However, i love the atmosphere at Konas for a nice breakfast.. Can't go wrong either way. TT is the BEST!!

I vote for CC, especially if you want to hurry and get to the parks..no need wasting time and money at a sit down breakfast when you can get it quicker and cheaper elsewhere, unless you really want to see the characters

I would go w/ Captain Cooks because I absolutely LOVE tonga toast too. When you're sitting by the pool at poly and looking out 2 Seven Seas lagoon and just gazing @ Cinderella Castle. Eventhough Kona is a sit-down it get's tiring watching the monorail after a while and the service isn't always great

Just an FYI -- there are no characters at Kona Cafe. ;) I don't know if that's what you were meaning, or just at sit down breakfasts' in general..

I'm attaching to your thread-What is the difference in Kona Tonga Toast, POR banana toast, and MK Bakery toast? It all sounds pretty similar.
Thanks

DisneyCatMom, thanks for that question, we are staying at POR next mo. and i just read about their toast, which sounds very similar to TT..
