I love this Board!

I've been absent from this board for awhile. A few years back, I used to view this board almost daily and I was lucky enough to use the $20.03 deal at the Marriott. Then I had my second child and stopped trying to live on a budget. I'm not sure what I was thinking, I was just overwhelmed with working and raising two kids (one a baby). Well, even though I've made all my payments, my finances were in disarray because we had no accountability for what we were spending and to where it was going. After reading these threads, I've been inspired. I wrote a very specific budget for our family (that includes vacation and Christmas/Birthday as well as eating out and an individual budget for DH and I). I also designated where extra money would be going (bonuses and overtime). While I was at it, I came up with a plan to reduce our debt so that one day we could join the debt free thread! As we start to save money for Christmas, I can't wait to use the ideas I found on the Christmas thread. Oh, and I'm getting Quicken to keep track of my monthly spending.

Thank you so much! Hopefully, I'll have some ideas to contribute as I start to be more accountable for my budget.
