I don't know if you quite see the final result here. This is hardly an advancement in technology (RFID has been around for some time now; Disney just hasn't utilized it) but rather an advancement in profits. Upon full rollout, you'll see people paying upwards of $15 per person to get more FP+s, resort tiering, longer lines at typical "short wait" attractions, and more rigid planning and scheduling when you're on vacation. Realistically, I see the positives with this program alongside the negatives, but my feelings are really mixed at this point. These videos are just another reminder where the $1.5 billion dollars are going. Instead of making videos to help guests learn how to use this somewhat-complicated system, they're spending their time and money on moms bumping into doors and kids asking their teacher for an A on their final.
So, Disney is able to make more profit all the while integrating photo pass (also memory maker), your hotel room entry, ability to pay without card, entry to park and fast passes as well make sure people who they say they are for dinner res (scan at gate) for security. Sounds like a win for all involved. Sure, there are changes that may change operating procedure for some but, cry me a river you have to change.
As for the videos, it's just a stupid way of saying you will be addicted to fastpass once you get used to it. I remember the same joke with a cruise line and their frequent user card (so it's not original). As for the "system being complicated" I don't see what the problem is for the user. Login, pick fastpass like you pick a restaurant. Are people also mad about having to pick an ADR 180 days out? It's a system where a ride you are guaranteed little to no wait, why be mad about being able to secure it 60 days out?
Sounds like a first world problem to me. Also, RFID has been around but you have to look at all the components and mass scale this is on.
