I just bid and won on a ready set go auction for a winning bid of $51 so with taxes and fees it makes $261 US for a 2 bedroom at Fairfiled Ocean Palms in Pompano...

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We wanted to check in on the 5th of November but this is on the 4th...We will just have 6 nights but that is OK with us...I can't wait. It's across the A1A from the beach and it has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and a washer and dryer....

I am so happy...Now we will go back to Orlando on the 11th instead of the 12 and we will have an extra day at DISNEY :earboy2:

Thanks to all my FELLOW DISERS for the courage and advice to try Skyauction...This is auction # 7 and I am sooooo happy!!! :bounce:

PBS your're a sky auctioning addict!! :rotfl: It is addictive I go on and look just for the fun of it. I wish I could bid on something for next summer but it is too far out. I hope that Vistana will be available again. It really was very very nice and I know you will like it.

You are too funny! Pretty soon you are going to be our official Sky Auction Queen!

enjoy them while you can.....although i think there will always be some skyauctions in orlando, you might not be seeing the better resorts as RCI channels the excess inventory to extra vacations and last calls for its members

good auctions for Las Vegas are almost non existent now

seems owners were getting tired of being told by "skyauction" people how cheaply they got into the resort that cost the owner $$$$$ and put the bug in developer ears ( orange lake used to appear all the time, HGVC too but no more )

with extra vacations right now one can get very nice 2 bedrooms for approimately 250$ and last calls for 199$

we just got HGVC on International drive for reasonable prices through extra vacations better than i could even get on skyauction since we start at 210$
there

photobear...maybe you could put up some of your rental units on skyauction too ....smilawgs

We love Skyauction too although I've recently discovered the government travel website. You can get condos for $264, no bidding involved if you are a government employee. You can spend $49 extra and get one for your family and friends. You can't beat it for ease and cost.
I think RCIs last call vacations are pretty lousy for the most part. The extra vacations you may as well rent right from the resort.
Cheaptickets.com also rents Skyauction inventory at slightly higher rates than auctions end up.
I think as long as there is excess inventory you will find sites like these. In places like Florida and certain east coast locations, they have over built.
This is why we sold our timeshare with no regrets.
Someday we may buy in again, but for now we take the same vacations for a lot less than owning.
I actually hope Skyauction is around in 10 years when DH retires. We'd like to pack up a conversion van and a laptop and head South or West every winter. Bid on places week to week a month or so in advance, maybe even less. We'll be nomads for 3 months out of the year.

the inventory in any of the sites "contributed to" by RCI have the same basic inventory, thus if if does not rent high they can rent it low

www.snaptravel.com is an example of HIGH, www.getravelop.com is LOW

the extra vacations for next year are priced HIGH like lucky said, but when they frist started the "fees" were high but came down ....probably due to supply and demand

The area there is nice enough and there are lots of things to do nearby. I'd recommend that you make a point to stop by one of our Brazilian Churrascarias (all you can eat steak buffet house) while you're there. I recommend "Gaucho Rodizio" www.gauchorodizio.com or the "Brazilian Tropicana" which ia a regular tourist haunt. There's also "Chima" http://www.chima.cc/ on Nearby Las Olas, and you should really go see Las Olas and the Riverwalk while you're visiting anyways. That's where the Museum of Art is and other interesting sites closer to the Riverwalk like the children's science museum and the IMAX.

Be prepared to walk a lot in that area. It's the best way to get around and see things. Stay on Las Olas and the Riverwalk area, though. A few miles West and a couple of blocks North and you're in trouble.

I used to take my wife there all the time when we were dating. We still go with the kids.

Have fun, be safe.

I'm an addict also. I find myself wishing I could bid on an auction all of the time. I'll see a week at Poly. Isles for a specific week and the bid is still at $1...........it just about kills me to see it go unused. :rotfl:

I've won 5 auctions and I can't wait to use it 3 more times for next year but it is too early yet. Oh, the anticipation is going to be the death of me! :rolleyes1 :teeth:

Congrats Photobear..........give us all the details when you come back. :wave2:
