I Love Pop

We love the Pop too..... We are going back for our 4th stay there in a week. It is such an AWESOME hotel for the price. The pool is better than some deluxes (in my opinion) - and I love the lake. We always request lake view upper floors and have never had a noise problem......though I have walked by some of the first floor rooms on our way to the parking lot and wondered if the noise there must be bad with all the people walking through there with excited kids. Overall such a nice hotel for us. And the deals we get there are out of this world! I am sorry that some people have bad experiences there.

Yeah!! We leave tomorrow morning. I wasa little nervous about POP, now I fwwl better!! Thanks...

DH and I love Pop Century!!! We've stayed in the 70's and 80's (which are the decades we grew up in, so it was extra special). The 80's building was great, right across from the computer pool and only about a 5 minute walk to the food court/bus stop. We had a problem with our safe the day of check-in on our last trip and they fixed it right away. Everything was very clean both times we went, good food, great desserts (especially at the end of a long day at the parks---yummy cakes & ice cream). Very fun resort--Disney Magic that won't break the bank!!! :teeth:

Last summer we went by Pop Century on our way back to ASMu....I kept telling DH, this is where we will be staying next time. It looks like so much fun! I just wished I would've stayed there last July. We love the ALL-star resorts but after reading all the great reviews, I kind of regret missing out on it last July.

When we return to WDW, Pop is where we will be dfinitely staying.

Thank you sooooo much for this!! We are staying there in January and also have read the bad reviews, but think the good outweigh the bad. The unpleasant things people have listed could have happenend (and probably some have) at any other hotel/resort we have stayed at. I feel better and simply cannot wait!!!

I so can't wait to stay at POP! The motif looks incredible and i know my DD is going to be thrilled! 4 more days!! :cool1: :cool1:

I totally agree! We have stayed at all levels of resorts at Disney & frankly I can't justify spending a fortune to stay deluxe when POP is just wonderful! I was a bit apprehensive too when I read negative threads, but I didn't experience any problems at all. Yes I could hear toilets flushing but it sounded way in the distance....not enough to disturb my sleep. In fact I've heard toilets flushing in many other hotels we've stayed at, so I don't see what the big deal is. The food court was crowded, but so are the moderates on late mornings. As far as buses go, we never had a problem going to the parks but if they were standing room only when leaving the parks, we just waited for the next bus which was always minutes behind. The room was a bit smaller than a moderate, but not by much. I guess if you demand a certain level of service when you travel such as valet, bell-hops, room service, than POP is not for you. Not that there's anything wrong with that since some people work really hard & feel they deserve that on vacation & that's fine too! But if you want a nice, fun, clean place to stay with Disney theming, courteous CM's, and great transportation, then give POP a try!

I took my Mom to Pop for her 63rd bday. It was between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We stayed in the 50's part...but asked for a quiet room and where facing the lake....step outside and watch the fireworks from Epcot!

The Christmas decorations at Pop reminded me of when I was a little girl. I swear my Grandmother had the tinsel tree that was in the gift shop! The music at the 50's pool made us dance all the way to the car (we didn't use the bus).

Everyone we met here was super Disney! More so than POFQ. And for such a HUGE resort it didn't seem like anything was that far a walk away (reason we will never stay at CSR again!).

Oh...Mom took the bed closest to the wall....on the large picture on that wall....looking over Mom while she slept....her favorite character....Gus the Mouse from Cinderella...well that was just the icing on the cake.

PS....I think they use the pressure from the toilets to launch the space shuttle :)

I'm so glad I saw this thread! We're leaving in 2 days for our first ever stay at the Pop and I have to say some of the negative reviews I have read had me concerned about our choice. All of these positive Pop experiences were perfect timing! I cann't wait to add our name to the list of Pop lovers.

We stayed at POP 9/10-9/17 and LOVED it!!!!!

We were a group of 5 - my husband and son5, Mother and Father in law. We got adjoinig (connecting) rooms on the 3rd floor of the tramp building facing the lake. Very quiet. Rooms were fine and clean. I agree that the toilets could flush you to Mars if you were not careful!

On our first night there we went for a walk around the grounds. I was surprised by how close everything was, because it looks so much more spread out on the map they give you when you check in. We were pretty much the opposite corner of the 50;s building from the main building and never had to walk very far.

It's really great they play music themed to the particular decade around each pool, but it's not obtrusive.

The food court did at times get busy but there were never lines that were unmanageable. The bus service was prompt but my only "complaint" was there was not much shade where you had to stand and wait for the bus. Otherwise, I could not have asked for a better time.

We visited a few other resorts on our stay and for the $ could not justify staying somewhere else in terms of theming, pools, etc. Except maybe one day I will splurge and stay at AKL and get a savannah view room (I'll let you know when I win the lottery!!!!)

We found we were close to everything and the bus rides were fine.

Have fun everyone who will be going to POP soon - I am afraid it will be a few years until I get back there again!!!!

We can't wait to go to POP. My 9 yo picked out the resort and will probably be upset when the last 5 nights of our vacation will be switched to AKL Have never stayed in a value, but am really looking forward to it!!

We stayed there in June/July and we loved loved loved it!! We are going back in December and really wanted to stay there again. But this time we wanted a preferred room just to experience it. But.....when I tried to make my ressies, there was NOTHING available! Not even at the All-stars. (Pop warner week) SO we are staying at Caribbean Beach...I hope that's nice.

I wish I could remember room numbers but just can't. Look at a map on the pop faq page and pick what you want. We love lady and the tramp with a view of the pool but also enjoyed a rubiks cube next to our car and near the pop fountains. For peace and quiet I would choose floor 3 or 4 on the back facing the lake. You can see illuminations from there. You will be pleasantly surprised at all the neat things for a value resort. :cheer2:

Was that the 50's bldg?

I too was nervous about Pop but once there we was VERY HAPPY with Pop.

Best bus service we ever had at disney

WE will be back!!!

I can't wait to go to POP. TY to all of you for the great positive posts. we will be there next summer ur time... (escaping aussie winter!)
