I just had to start a positive thread about my favorite resort. I don't doubt that the negative experiences exist but me and my family Love this resort!!We always go to meals early to avoid the crowds and we always sit in a corner (which has what seems like our very own Christmas tree in December :earsboy: ) and it is extremely quiet. I have always noticed very crowded food courts on sleep late days no matter where we stay but we avoid them. We had problems with the ac our first visit but it was fixed pleasantly. The noisiest resort experience we had was at WL where someone let their child run screaming up and down the hall all night long. (some people have no sense!). POP always seemed to be average to me. For those who need extreme quiet I recommend the cabins away from the bus stops at FW. I love the gift shop, the cm's , the bus service (far superior to the deluxe with the exception of the location of the bus stop in the parks). We love the shrimp lo mein and the pizza and the indoors bar at a value resort and the icee machine for refillable mugs and the neat courtyard with twister games and pop fountains and the really pretty lake. Can't wait to go back. :Pinkbounc

 Yep, another BIG fan here. We will be staying there in December. Can't wait

Pop is one of our favorites, too. We were there for opening day, and have been there twice since then, and just booked one night in November before our cruises. I can't wait to go back, even if only for one night!

After staying at deluxes for our first 5 trips we decided to give Pop a try right after they opened. Let me say that we've been back to WDW 5 times since then and we now only stay at Pop. We love everything about the place. that's not to say it's perfect because it's not. The toilets are loud but we found if we just keep the bathroom door closed it doesn't bother us. We'll be back again Jan. 12th -23rd. Maine :firefight

I love it!!!

I have never heard the people in the opposite room.

the toilets are definitely LOUD.

but you can ignore that. I heard my neighbors more in All star music than Pop.

both have a problem with people letting the doors slam close.

Now what I love about Pop, the CM are great, the Lake is wonderful, the pools are great, the food court is the BEST, the gift shop is nice, the bus and bus drivers are some of the best on property!!! I also love Lady and Tramp and it was pretty nice being able to get up each morning and see them!!!

I wonder if this positive review thread will reach 5-10 pages like the negative reviews always seem to.

Although it isn't my #1 favorite resort, Pop makes my list! I've always had a great experience there. I enjoy the layout and atmosphere! :teeth:

I was there the first of this month and did like it very much. I will be taking my grandson there end of next June. He picked it out because of the motif. I just know he will love it.
but then I love everything Mickey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always had a pleasant stay at POP. It's the only WDW resort where I have ever gotten a towel animal too. :sunny: and I get them just about every day I'm there. if I don't, no big deal. I would rather them give them to the rooms with kids staying inside anyway. I like it better than any of the All Stars, WL, or Port Orleans riverside. I'm staying there again next month. can't wait!

POP gets our vote!
We have stayed there several times and the kids LOVE it! :flower:

Our last stay was at WL before trying POP in April '05. I was a little apprehensive but I shouldn't have been. We had a wonderful stay there in April and liked it so well that we are booked there again for late Nov./early Dec.

The CM's were the BEST...very friendly and helpful. Fastest check-in we've ever had at any Disney resort.

We had no noise disturbances altho' we always travel with a white noise machine (and ear plugs) which helps drown out any outside noises.

No a/c problems.

We only ate in the food court a couple of times for snacks and that was at off hours so it was not crowded then. We were never there at peak times so I can't comment on that issue.

Mousekeeping was good and we got towel animals several times...our first ones ever.

Bus transportation was convenient and the only time we waited over 10 minutes was closing at MK one night. We waited 20-30 minutes and then they began bringing in 2 buses at a time for POP. Next trip, we plan to linger in the park for a while to let the crowds disperse a bit.

On the morning we checked out, we did have to wait about 20-30 minutes to get a luggage cart. It was very busy and demand for carts was high. This wasn't a problem for us as we were not in a rush; besides, our outlook is 'don't sweat the small stuff'! ;) :)

I don't doubt others have had negative experiences at this resort and I am sorry their stay wasn't a pleasant one. In reality, a bad stay can happen at any resort. I recall someone recently posting about having a very unhappy stay at GF. I am only relating my personal experience at POP so posters will know that a stay there CAN be a good one! :sunny: :flower:

We are 2 months away from going to POP for the first time! We normally camp, but gas is to expensive. Which rooms did people like? Which ones are quieter? Can you see Illuminations from any rooms? Thanks for the positive thread!

I have to agree about PC. This was our first on-site stay and the Pop Century resort was great. We had one of those trips where nothing went wrong, and that includes everything about this resort. We will stay here again next trip

I wish I could remember room numbers but just can't. Look at a map on the pop faq page and pick what you want. We love lady and the tramp with a view of the pool but also enjoyed a rubiks cube next to our car and near the pop fountains. For peace and quiet I would choose floor 3 or 4 on the back facing the lake. You can see illuminations from there. You will be pleasantly surprised at all the neat things for a value resort. :cheer2:

That picture of the lobby makes me want to cry. :sad1:
We had stayed at the cabins our only other onsite trip. We loved them, and FW, but had outgrown the cabins.
I KNEW we'd like Pop, but I had NO idea how much.
When I entered the lobby to check in, it took my breath away. It FELT like Disney! It was just like being in the parks for me.
I love the sparkles in the floor, and the shadow boxes of memoribilia on the wall.
We were checked in sooo fast, and found our perfect location connecting rooms very quickly.
We ate in the foodcourt every night but one, and as long as you eat before the parks close, it's not busy at all.
We loved all the pools, and wish we had found the kiddie pool next to the hippy dippy pool earlier, because it was perfect for our toddlers.
The only noise problem we had was one night a woman was pounding on a door and screaming.
Otherwise, I didn't even think the toilets were that bad. Maybe I was just exhausted enough to sleep through it, LOL.
The A/C worked great, too good, never had it turning off like others reported and had to put the temp UP when we got back from the parks, and it was in the high 90's the entire trip.
Mousekeeping was exceptional, and all the CMs we encountered were great.
Bus service was excellent, we never waited long, even on the night we closed down MK, because that night they brought 2 buses at a time.

Our background is people who travel very little, don't have their own pool, don't frequent water parks, don't have central AC, and like our Mickey Themeing a little on the intense side. LOL
My toddlers spent the first half hour in the room counting the hidden mickey's in the bed spread.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Pop Century, and can't imagine taking our family elsewhere. (Unless Dh and I get a trip alone, LOL, but I still think I would have a problem spending more on a hotel room!)
My kids can't wait to go back!

I am so-o glad I found this thread! After all the neg. remarks about the Pop, and finding out it is Pop Warner Cheering Competion, we freaked!!!!! Has anyone been at the Pop when this was going on? I know people have said the parks really aren't affected, but I am wondering about the Pop buses, and hotel itself. All the other value hotels are booked (12/7-12/12) we checked today. So are choices are to move( which truely isn't in our budget, we are only paying $62.00 a night :cool1: !) or stay a few nights @ a moderate, then move to the Pop when the :cheer2: leave. We understand that the hotel will be busy, I am just worried about being out of control :cheer2: !!!!

I am so glad to hear all your good reviews, After reading so many negative reports I was a bit worried and actually thought of changing my reservation, we will be arriving Christmas day for 5 nites and 6 days....But Hubby says to he wants to try it out and since he is the one who gets bothered by everything and is willing to try it so I am glad to hear you enjoyed it......Thanks for the good review!!!
