Some of you may remember that I was having horrible dress phobias.. I'd try on these big princessy dresses at bridal boutiques and have panic attacks and leave crying because nothing seemed to work or felt right ... then I finally found a great bridesmaid dress site (www.threaddesign.com - check it out! they really are great!) and found a bridesmaid's dress that I thought could pass for a wedding gown in ivory and would be great for my body type (smaller on top and bigger on the bottom). It looked simple yet elegant and perfect for an outdoor (seabreeze point) summer wedding.
so I took a big risk and ordered it ( in ivory) while crossing my fingers that it would end up fitting right, looking great, and being the dress of my dreams ... well ladies... the dress came in today!
I got home from work and found a little box waiting outside my apartment door.. I brought it in and when I realized what it was I couldn't believe my WEDDING DRESS was packed in this small little box. I took it out... looked it over.. muttering "please fit! please look good" over and over as I tried it on...
and when I looked in the mirror.........
I fell in love!!!!! I LOVE IT!. Now I guess I finally know how all of you brides and brides to be feel when you put on the right dress for you...
all this time I was trying to fit into big, poofy dresses thinking that that is what brides should look like.. when reallly I needed something flowy and simple and beautifully casual.. like me!
so let this be a lesson to all you up and coming brides...
brides have MANY different looks and don't try to force yourself to look any certain way.. it's all about you and what makes you feel beautiful!! hooray!!
