Why haven't I ever used this program before? It's so easy and fun! I just finished a really neat video to send DH for father's day. he wasn't here when we gave dd her first horse or for their first ride. I know it hurt him that he couldn't be here for that so I put together a movie of pictures and videos of their fist meet and ride. It's set to the songs Happy Girl( Martina McBride) and Beautiful day (U2). He's going to love it!

Count me as a lover of Movie Maker too.
I have been getting ready for Vacation Bible School (I help out every year at our church), and this year I decided to do a video ad campaign. The videos that I made are on the church website, and get seen on Sunday mornings.
Couldn't do it without Movie Maker!

Oh, I'm going to have to remember to use that to send DH stuff. Thanks for the idea!

I used it once to make a slide show of DD's Halloween pictures. I am in the middle of scanning a ton of pictures right now to make a slide show for older DD's graduation party. I may give you all a hollar if/when I get stuck and putting it together. SDhe supposed to be bring me music to use today, and I should be done scanning too soon. I'm excited to give it a try and see how it goes, but I never did multiple songs before, so it maybe be challenging. :confused3

You're welcome. When is your DH coming home?

He's away right now for training, but hasn't left for the big one yet. :goodvibes
I used a different program I had to buy at one time, but didn't like how it made duplicates of all the photos & ate up storage in computer big time. Also, it was very proprietory & people had to install player to watch it on their computer. Never again for that program.

HELPPPPP!!!!
I have made a slide show. It's about 50 minutes long. I was told by a friend to put it on a DVD-R so that it will play in a DVD player. Everytime I put the disc in, it tells me there isn't a writable disc in. So I tried to copy the disc via the my videos are to a CDR. It tells me there is an error in copying it. So I am am trying to now copy it right from movieplayers on a CD-R, and at this point it looks like it might be working....but I won't be able to play in on the DVD player. Is there a wy to convert this onto a DVD. I am using Windows XP. It is supposed to have DVD capablitiy...or so I thought. Could it be my computer that won't let me copy it to DVD-R or did I get a bad batch of DVD's, or the wrong kind of disc?

I was just telling my DH about this thread and the Movie Maker. We're Navy and I have like 10,000 hours of video from when my DD was growing up, trying to make sure dad didn't miss anything:lmao: I showed him your question and he said to try using a DVD+R disc or a DVD+RW Disc. It has to be a + not a = and not a CD. Hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me! We're just starting to put the VHS on DVD, going to be a long process.

Are you copying it or publishing it? Up on the toolbar it says "publish movie" click that and choose DVD. If that isn't the problem, try another DVD-r disc and see if that works.

I was trying to publish, but it didn't have a DVD option. I actually had to start over from scratch on my laptop. I think my desktop version wasn't working right. I had some other errors happening, like the songs started to merge into each other on there own. and then extending and replaying the song half way through.

And I did have DVD+R. I guess i didn't know there was a difference til lmy laptop told me both were exceptable. LOL

Thanks for the help. Once I did it on the lapt top, it came out wonderful. Just twice as time consuming. :confused3
