Does Hollywood Studios still have this?
I went in 2003 and they had it there then.
Thank you.

The only I Love Lucy store I know of is at Universal Studios.

OK, maybe its a power of suggestion thing, but I remember one, too, and I have never been to Universal ....

Wasn't it on the left hand side as you walked toward the hat, near the end of the shops?!?!?

If I remember correctly, it was on Sunset -- it was the store (or part of the store) that is now "Villains in Vogue."

It was in 2003 it got moved over to Universal Studios :) I remember the Lucy store very well at MGM and was so sad when it got moved over. Somehow, it seemed to really fit MGM really well and the ambiance there (I'm a huge Lucy fan!) However, if you want to see it now, it's on one of the front streets of Universal, and it's a mixture of a museum and store -- REALLY nice but like some of you, MISSED at MGM!! :goodvibes

Yes, that's exactly where it was! I still have the pictures! Good memory, if you don't mind me saying so!! :thumbsup2

Figment's Friend -- Thank you so much for knowing what happened to this store and passing on the info! I was beginning to think that I had imagined the whole thing!

Have a magical day!

To be honest, I am not well versed on this topic but the Lucy Store has been in Universal a lot longer than that. I remember it from at least 2001, maybe longer. If there was a Lucy Store at MGM I doubt it was moved, but, just removed from MGM. I, frankly, do not remember it in MGM, but, I wasn't looking for it either.

It's funny how the memory works. I had a friend that was so mad a Disney for moving the "Sky Tower" (I'm not sure of the actual name, for those of you that have been to Sea World, it is that big levered, two story rotating observation tower that is there). Anyway, he was so upset that Disney moved it over there, because he could remember, on his first trip to Epcot being on it and seeing all the sites in the area. He really liked it a lot and was now pretty sure he would never go back to WDW because of it's loss.

When I first told him that what he was describing was at Sea World, he got visibly upset because Disney moved it there and now they don't even allow you to use Disney tickets to get into Sea World, like they used too. It was a surreal conversation, I can assure you.

i was at mgm shortly after it opened in 1989, they never had it there. when we visited universal in 1998, we bought something there for a friend, since she's a big fan of lucy's. people get the two places mixed up all the time. even the street that the store is on at universal, looks exactly like sunset at mgm. They don't just move things from two totally separate parks; they have nothing to do with each other. remember sunset at mgm only opened when ToT opened, it wasn't there in 1989 when the parked opened.
also, i have a cm friend that opened MGM back in 1989 and she confirmed they never had a lucy store.

There IS/WAS a lot of I Love Lucy merchandise at Disney.

Some in the parks (MGM/DHS) and, particularly, it could be found at one of the stores at DTD that carried/carries lots of pop culture items.

There are/were lots of those kind of kitschy items from TV shows and movies.

I worked at MGM in 1999 on my CP and I don't recall there being an actual Lucy store. :confused3 I agree with Robo that there could have been some I love Lucy themed items found in a store, but I don't recall an actual store being dedicated to the show.

I'm pretty sure you can still get some Lucy stuff at Sig Cohenga's (spelled wrong, I'm sure) near the entrance. It's not a huge selection though.

Starabilia's on the west side has exactly these kinds of items. i haven't been down that way in awhile to see if its still there but they had a ton of i love lucy items and sid's has actual memorabilia.

I am going to PM to ask you exactly where, and if you need park admission to visit the store?
Thanks so much!

Yes; this wasn't really an I Love Lucy store as such. It was a store (and I'd swear it was what has now become "Villains in Vogue," but that could be the suspect memory of a 40-year-old who never had the greatest memory in the first place) that carried a good bit of Lucille Ball-related merchandise, more or less gathered into one area.

Universal actually has a small attraction called "Lucy: A Tribute." It's a little walk-through museum. It makes sense, therefore, that they'd have a shop related to that.

The I Love Lucy store in Universal as described in the post above has been there since at least 1993, because I was there that year with a friend who was crazy for Lucy and we had to go.
They had touch screens with Lucy trivia games, her polka dot dress was displayed along with other items and they sold merchandise.

We were there in 1992 and it was there then. We went back in 2006 and went in again. I love that place or as they say "I Love Lucy" LOL.

We are going to Disney in September.
Can we access this store without admission to Universal Studios?
