So its always very sad after a Disney trip and thats part of the reason I have not been back on here since my trip last month. We were there for 11 amazing days and then at Universal for 2 days.

I just want to say all around I really liked the trip and didn't have anything that sticks out as a negative when I looked back at it. The closest thing I would have is that I requested a top floor studio at the Boardwalk and received the 2nd floor which is the lowest floor looking over the Boardwalk (this actually was a plus as we avoided the elevator basically the whole trip).

As far as FP+ goes though I gotta say it was really a great thing when we were there. Since we went during a slower time of the year we really had our choice of pretty much anything we wanted, obviously with the exception of the Frozen Princesses but I had a FP+ for them that I secured at about 60 days out.

Also keeping in mind that I personally think a lot of issues with FP+ comes from not everyone having their own Disney login we had both my wife and myself setup with our own Disney accounts. This isn't for sure the reason but we didn't have 1 issue the whole trip with our Magic Bands or FP+.

In the end for about $44 a day in tickets we got to do a lot of amazing things. I personally think the value is way above any professional sports team (I should know as I have Brewers and Packers season tickets) and cheaper if you don't take into account staying on site (love staying at the Boardwalk but might stay offsite next time for a cheap hotel alternative). The fact that we had FP+ vs the FP- was a major plus for us as we had more flexibility than last year. It was so much easier to do park hoping as we could do rope drop at HS and then move over to MK around lunch time for instance.

My biggest suggestion to anyone is to take a deep breath and just enjoy Disney. Looking at the other people running around and reading people on here before we left I can almost guarantee the reason we had such a great trip is we weren't worried about every little thing being perfect. I could probably point out many things that were A+ on the trip but at the same time with a positive perspective it didn't derail our whole vacation as it seems with others, although again we didn't have any of the crippling issues like Magic Bands not working or losing all our FP+.

Just to point out everything didn't go as planned, we ended up not getting a text message about our room being ready. It didn't really matter for us anyways as we were at Epcot and then MK that afternoon until dinner time anyways.

PS- If anyone is every thinking about doing MNSSHP I would say DO IT! It was by far probably the best experience of the trip. It was so cool to see the parades, the characters (we are not even character people), and the empty ride lines at the end of the night (rode splash mountain all alone!).

Final thought: FP+ worked for us for both rope drop and non rope drop days. We were able to secure rides for later in our trip so that if Toy Story was 45 mins we knew if nothing else we would get to ride the next day or could do rope drop. I know things will be different when they go at the busy time of the year but that just reenforces the thought to go during a lesser visited time of the year.

First off, glad you had a great trip! :) We had a similar experience with FP+. This was our second trip using the system and we had no glitches. Got in the rooms a-okay every time..was able to charge with it with no issues...FP+ times worked as reserved...was able to change them on the fly as needed. The only thing I ran into was that the loading of changes through the app could be slow at times but it still wasn't a big deal. Overall, I'm a huge fan of magic bands and FP+. Made the trip so much smoother.

Thanks for the trip report. Glad you loved it and had a great time!

Seems the reports coming in lately are just getting more and more positive! Love it!!

Yay! I'm glad y'all had a great trip. We loved FP+ too, July was our first trip so I've never used the old fast pass system, so I had nothing to compare it to, but I loved it and found it to be really easy. My mom and I are headed back in September and can't wait to do the Halloween party!!

As far as cost goes, yes Disney is expensive, but there are many discounts you can get and depending on your spending habits you can make it "budget friendly." For example, we went on a cruise summer of 2013 and it was a little over $4,000 for 4 of us to take a 7 day cruise. That's just for the cruise and is not including the hotel in New Orleans, gas to get there, food before/after we were on the cruise, plus whatever we spent while on the ship and while on shore. In total we probably spent closer to $5,000-$5,500 for that trip. When we went to Disney in July 2014 we spent about $1,000 for the entire Disney portion of our trip! That was including gas, 2 extra nights at a hotel (1 on the way there and 1 on the way back because it's a 15 hour drive), all of our food for the entire week, tickets, Disney resort, literally EVERYTHING, and this was for 5 people. So for us Disney came out way cheaper per person than a cruise did last year and we will definitely be going back again. Now, we do get a military discount which helps with cost tremendously, but bottom line is that for us Disney was cheaper than our past 2 vacations (both cruises) were which shocked me.

Anyway, sorry for rambling lol!!
