I agree with this. The construction is just at the tower and didn’t bother me at all. We were in cabanas 8A.
I haven’t been to cbr but the construction there looks to be equivalent to csr....just the towers at both places.

We were in Ranchos 7A. PERFECT for the bus stop. Could not have been more convenient but terrible for getting to the main building if walking.

My aunt is staying at the swan for our extended family trip in May.
I’m looking at it and see that for my points booking they want to charge me for a night in advance for prepayment. I assume if I cancel I get that back? And if I don’t cancel do they apply it to the resort fee or something? It is rather annoying really, to have to pay a fee now to redeem points in 4 months.

DoC updated the Le Meridian Tahiti saga. The hotel operator that took over is now reaching out to affected consumers & putting the blame squarely on Marriott. Yeah that’s pretty high. BUT when we went to pop last March it was $177. We luckily got the stay, play, dine deal.

Can I use a SW GC to Pay for EBCI? Or will the AmEx Plat or Gold travel credit work for paying them?

I used my AmEx Gold last month for EBCI and got the credit. It also codes 3xMR.

Question for those of you who do bank account bonuses - Do the banks send you 1099s to report the income? Or do they not send if less than $600?

I believe if you earn over $10 in interest from the bank they will issue a 1099-INT. The only time I've heard of $600 in relation to a 1099 is as the threshold for issuing a 1099 to an independent contractor for work performed.

As long as you cancel within the cancellation policy you get that money back. I’m assuming they apply it to your bill so it’s essentially prepaid. It actually worked out for us because I upgraded to the Lux and got $300 credit and 100k pts for the spend. I paid cash for night one. They charge you the first full night with the booking (which I find bizarre) but it worked out better for us b/c when I booked I had a $60 off $300 amex marriot offer. That applied in addition to the $300 credit (room was $275 + fees so 345 total). So I made $15 on that night. The AF was prorated so i think it was around $290 when I upgraded. I just used pts for night 2 as the rates were higher (like $375). So I think the 50k per night is high unless you go during a super busy time and then it’s prob a good deal if the rates are 400+ night.

Yay, finally, a decent Chase offer on DH’s Freedom- $40 back on 2 transactions of at least $15 with AT & T. Not as good the $200 offer with AmEx but i’ll Take it.

And there is a strange $150 credit from Courtyard pending. No idea what that is for since we never use DH’s Freedom when we stay there. I guess I’ll be contacting Chase later to inquire.

In other news, the weather people were totally wrong! We are already up to 5” of snow and they are calling for it to snow through 9 pm. Guess I’ll be teleworking tomorrow.

Dh booked his and my flights to Orlando end of March! We are staying the first two nights at Rosen Shingle Creek which is where his conference will be. It seems so far away from everything but the resort itself looks very nice! We will have a car until we get to WDW and then turn it in. I booked that already through UR's (much cheaper than either Costco or the conference discount rate).

Then we will stay three nights at WDW. I wasn't able to rent dvc points b/c no studios were available, and the deluxe rates are too high so I'm bummed. I really wanted to stay deluxe since we are kind of priced out of deluxe when we all go and need two rooms.

SO, I currently have three rooms booked: Pop, CS & CBR. We've never stayed at Pop or CBR. Pop is almost $200 less over the three nights. My question is for those of you who have stayed at these resorts, if you were just hanging out (though some of that hanging out will be at other resorts), which would you choose? We are definitely pool people so hoping it is warm enough to swim!

CS is a favorites of mine. Before owning DVC we looked to stay there.

So your CP will be available immediately once 110k SW RR points post in the SW account.

If you reach the MSR ahead of the statement (I’d agree that the 12th might work for a 17th stmt) then you should see the bonus points listed on the statement which would be available the morning of the 18th. If all works, the points would then hit your SW Acct within 2-3 days max after that so you’d have a CP by the 21st. If you miss this months stmt though you’ll be waiting an entire month and there’s not much you can do about that unfortunately.

Here's a new (to me) SWA CP and points booking question- P2 is almost at CP, but I needed to book a flight for him using my old points stash from my acct- what I want to do is add the companion flight to his already booked flight when we get the CP in a couple of weeks. Will that work out? (It's booked via my points, but the CP will be his)
