I love credit cards so much!

I'm sorry :(

If it makes you feel any better, Dh and I are having a hell of a time deciding on resorts. I'm seeing on Priceline resorts for $142/night but these are all of the possible options according to Hotel Canary: BW, BC, YC, Contemporary, AKL, WL, Boulder Ridge Villas, or Polynesian. I would think for $142/night we would be happy with any of those. The only one we wouldn't really want is AKL, but we would still be happy at that price. I've never done the Express deals, though and I'm worried there's a chance we might not get any Disney resort.

Have you ever done them before?
I haven't done them yet. I've been looking a lot.

I got some random voicemail from a 1-800 earlier and I thought it had to be fake since it said it was "Chase with potential fraud on my account." I went to log-in to my account online and it said "due to recent account activity my online access was suspended for my protection" blah blah blah

I thought could this be a Chase shutdown? Called the number the app provided, waited on hold about 15 minutes and found out Chase wanted to ensure I had money from the sending bank that I submitted for transfer into my new savings account :badpc:

All is corrected and I can log-in and see my cards and new accounts. What a scare! It actually really annoyed me that Chase thought I had insufficient funds submitted for transfer. SMH Now I won't feel so bad closing these accounts and opening a CIP next month for 80,000 URs.

I just love how these banks almost make you feel like a criminal over the tiniest issues. (Or non-issues...)

I've been looking at flight options for getting our family to Tokyo. Looks like ANA is the best and if we went in regular season, it would be 50k points each. Reading I can transfer SPG or Amex MR 1:1. Would this be the same for Marriott points, or is this different now? Would I still get the transfer 20k, get bonus 5k?
Is this round trip @ 50k? I need to start pricing out for a 2021 trip with DW.

Me too! I just got my BBP though, so I'm still in MSR timeframe. I guess this means I need to stay away from Staples. Is Lowes ok?

I'm so excited for you! I will definitely be following along to see how this pans out!

I think Lowe's is fine! I have bought GC's from them many times during an Amex MSR.

Thanks :) I'm excited too but not breathing a word to the kids until I can read more. It's so overwhelming to me trying to figure out how to make all of it work. Also, I've never really traveled int'l (other than Caribbean, Mexico and Canada) so this is way out of my comfort zone!!

So if only Disney resorts are listed on Hotel Canary does that mean you're guaranteed a Disney resort? I guess that's what I'm most worried about, but $142/night is awesome. Our choices right now are to do the Priceline deal and not know what resort we get or do Boardwalk for $371/night. It's a big difference in price, but at least we would know what we are getting. What do you think?

@wendow I am most definitely considering Tokyo Disneyland! I think we should both do it; such a fabulous idea. I will start laying the groundwork with DH that we need to go. Sometimes it takes a while...it took over a year for me to convince him we should have a third baby. But pretty sure I could convince him it was a good idea especially if points paid for the entire trip! I just ran flights on my Delta app for SLC to Tokyo. Looks like three airports for all three and different dates (one first part of June and one in October) the rate was around 62,000 miles. From Denver it was around 68,000. You can transfer the MR’s to Delta AND you can transfer your Marriott points to Delta (even get the mileage bump when you transfer the increments of 60,000 Mariott Points). Going through Delta seems easier to me than trying to figure out a different airline, but maybe one of the others would be the way to go.

Thanks for posting! It sounds like we would like it better than Paris Disneyland even if it was more work to get there. I have Mariott points, Hyatt points, MR’s and UR’s. Hotel wise would you recommend start trying to build more UR’s? Should I get a Hilton card? I have zero Hilton points...not even (gasp) a member of their award program.

I am going to *try* to figure out how to make my MR's work with ANA since I have a nice supply and it's almost 20k more on Delta for us from Denver (appreciate you looking that up!!) which across 6 people is 120k more points. SOOO, I need to work on the other options first...

I couldn't believe my dh agreed right away today. I thought for sure it was just a 'feeling him out' kind of convo. But nope, he was like, 'sure, sounds fun' Of course, he followed it up with, 'as long as we can spend all our time at Disney'. We will see about that  Just for reference, third baby was a two year conversation here lol!

I'm going to start looking at hotels tonight. I'm interested in what is on the monorail, that is non-Disney. All suggestions are welcome from those who have been, are going or just have looked into it :D

Yes, this is transferring points (MR, Marriott) to ANA and flying in their economy class during the regular season. I'm totally new to looking at all this so please correct me if you see something different when you start looking :)

ETA: @Albort mentioned using points for Virgin Atlantic. I've not looked into that as much yet.

We are using Hilton points to stay at the Hilton Tokyo Bay during our Disney part of our stay. It's on the monorail loop and some people said you could even walk from there. I'm pretty sure we will just take the monorail since it's not very expensive.

I haven't used Hotel Canary yet. I do a lot of searching at work and they have our browser locked down so no extensions. Maybe someone could help you verify? @disneymagicgirl @wendow

I definitely plan to write a trip report after our May/June trip.

Wonderful! I'd love to do ABD to try it out and to not have to plan it all, but honestly 10k times 3 is just not going to happen anytime in the near future. Can't wait to read your TR, and I'm following along on all the chatter here today. We may choose a different destination in the end but I'm still going to track it all and see if it will work for us. :goodvibes

We've been keeping a document as well that has what we've saved through our churning. I'll post all of that on our trip report. I looked at ABD first and instantly knew that I wasn't spending that kind of money. It helps that I don't work full time so I'm basically our own travel agent with how much research I've been doing. I enjoy the research, though.

Don't forget to account for the passports everyone will need :)

That’s a huge difference in price. For a short getaway trip I’d chance it :)

You are not guaranteed a Disney resort even if Hotel Canary thinks it is a Disney resort. If you want to post your dates, I will take a look. @disneymagicgirl knows Priceline better than me so I'd want her opinion too.
