I love credit cards so much!

Do they have good rates or just normal Disney discounts?

I remember last year seeing some really good rates for POFQ, but they were last minute deals and I wasn't able to plan something that short. I was mostly curious just to see what they had to offer. I have a hard time planning that last minute, but I think they are still a good option. Although, I am totally going to be hooked on Priceline and Hotwire now, haha!

I’m glad they’re progressing but sorry they have to spend birthdays in the hospital. Now that your daughter and SIL are more stable, maybe they can ask to share a room (or at least rooms next door if they are private rooms.). I know we have done it at the hospital I work at.
Legal help is a good idea. Even if their insurance covers most, there are still deductibles and maximums. Your SIL especially, likely has a long rehab ahead.
Hugs to all.

Just got word that she is being temporarily released until her surgery next week after the holiday. And for son in law they are saying 6 months. That's why I was bemoaning the numbers...

Of course a lot depends on him and how gung ho he will be with rehab and therapy - the patient has to be willing to work at it (not saying he won't) and as you know it's not easy to power through pain. Daughter is a 'lets get this done and over with' personality.

The $100 gold card dining credit...I've been wearing that out buying gift cards. $150 in Cheesecake factory, plus the 6 slices, and the other $10 monthly credit and $100 at Panera (its really close) plus $20 bonus for January. So $250 in gift cards all credited, and almost $250 more in fast food and dining and take out since before Thanksgiving when I got the card. I may have a $1 left to go.

@disneymagicgirl - I meant to respond about the Waterline Marina Resort - I had also seen it while trolling around looking for 35K and under resorts in Florida. From what I've read it is very new. And, I am very interested, so I may book it for next fall. The reviews I read were very encouraging. I think it's one of those that if we don't book it this year it will be 50K next year and I haven't even seen it!

I've been trying to distract myself by reading online today, when my phone is not beeping with texts.

This morning my daughter and family were in a pretty bad car accident in Colorado. They've all survived and no one is currently critical, but lots of broken bones. Both of the cars look totaled. My ex went to the scene and sent me the pics. Daughter called me before help came and there was barely a signal so it was pretty scary.

Youngest grand daughter just had a cat scan and they are getting ready to do an MRI of her C2 neck bone. She was on side of the car that was hit but of course she was in her car seat in the back. Older grand daughter has been released, but Mom, Dad and youngest are still in hospital. Dad is in surgery now and has multiple broken bones but is not critical. He was airlifted to the hospital and Mom and 2 daughters came by ambulance. Mom's ankle badly broken.

Yesterday it was pictures texted back and forth of everyone having a wonderful xmas with our Colorado family, and today is not so great but I'm thankful everyone survived and will recover.

The other driver also survived, and I'm happy for his family.
Absolutely terrifying! Prayers for the long road of recovery they have ahead of them as I see from your updates that is starting :grouphug:

Just reading the Hyatt offer and happy I got my card when I did. I got 40K points for 2k spend and a $75 annual fee with category 1-4 free night. I signed up in September of 2017, met spend and got my points in October, plus my 1st free night is in my account waiting for next summer when it will be a $400 plus night in Ocean City, Md - I say in my account but the night is already booked. And due to last summer's opening fiasco I have the extra 2 nights booked as well. Hyatt has been good to me. I also stayed for a couple of nights this fall and liked the staff and hotel and of course the ocean front location. There are ocean front and ocean view rooms all with balconies and no bad views. I've been slipping spend on my Hyatt card for offers and will do more with it in 2019 to pick up the possible extra 15K night, plus points. Its a keeper card for me.

Edit: the new annual fee for the card now offered has been jacked up to $95 which is not awful.

The 'good' offers don't last long but we don't always know what's really good when we see it, but one thing is for sure, 'things aren't getting cheaper'!

I can't even find the "ad" I saw that said the offer was ending soon. Which is weird - I'm spending far too much time on Hyatt's page trying to get it to show. Now I'm wondering what that means... I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens but then FOMO...

I saw that too. I think mine was an email, or maybe it came up when I was on the Hyatt or chase site...can't remember. But I def saw it.

I think I may add 5 nights on for our May trip. 5 nights at this place and then 5 at wdw. School will be out...why not? :teacher:
