Friends is the only show that I own on DVD and Blu-Ray! I get the full, uncut episodes on DVD and have the HD on Blu-Ray. I’m ready for when Netflix loses the rights to competing streaming services!
We don’t have any of the dvds so it’ll be a very sad day if they take them off Netflix. I think a lot of people would be very upset.

Wow, just read it too. So sorry @Andysol for your loss, I can not imagine. I do appreciate your tremendous gratitude in you what you have been given, that is not always easy to see when you have such a great loss. It is so true, more so on Reddit than here, that we often don't think about the actual person behind the posting. I think we have formed some great online friendships on this thread and I do feel like I know some of you, though apparently may never get to actually meet some of you (@SouthFayetteFan haha) . Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone of my friends reading this!

Appreciate it WVMom.

Andy...just saw your mods choice on r/churning. I’m not even sure what to say, you are a remarkable guy - I can’t put myself in your shoes but I’m so truly sorry for the trials you’ve endured. I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and so truly appreciate your advice. I will hug those close to me tight today and cherish the special moments!!

Not remarkable at all- that's my wife. But I appreciate it man. Sometimes you get dealt tragedy and you just hope to respond the best way possible. If you don't learn from a loss, then that loss was in vain. As a Christian, it was an easy decision for me to succumb to the enemy or not. I choose not to and come out stronger and better.
I was hesitant to post it as you never know how people will respond; in particular in our hostile churning sub. But I thought it was a good time of year to toss it out there and hopefully some people respond to it in a positive way in their life.

Again, thank you both and Merry Christmas to both of you and your families (and everyone on here).

Shameless plug, if anyone else wants to read (maybe do it after Christmas, hah): https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/a9433u/mods_choice_christmas_eve_storytime_december_24/

Wow we must’ve seen different movies lol jk. It’s interesting how we can have such varying opinions on a movie. I’m one of those people that loves the twilight saga and I’m sure there are people that think similar thoughts about my taste in those movies.

While I did enjoy Aquaman, I can also say that I loved the Twilight saga and it does bring back some memories. I actually began reading the series on our first stay at the Grand Floridian. DH had a friend that worked for the mouse that was able to get us a reservation for 40% off. So, we were having a romantic weekend getaway and relaxing. I spent most of the afternoon reading the first book while lazing in a hammock. Later on in the evening, I finished the book, which ends on a cliff hanger. I remember panicking over the ending and begging DH to get online and find the closest Barnes & Noble. We left the hotel and got to the book store shortly before they closed and I picked up the rest of the series. That weekend DH fell in love with the Grand Floridian and fell in love with Jacob and Edward :rotfl:

I had to resort to ebay. I have all the others at retail, but had to pay over to get that one. That is my favorite episode ever, well tied with "the one with the prom video"

It's so hard to choose a favorite one, but I do love the one in season 2 where Joey and Chandler get the huge TV and the barko-loungers and refuse to leave their seats so keep sending food (and no drinks so they won't have to get up) next door.

Oh my god lol. That could be a movie right there. “There was so much suspense as we rushed to the nearest store. I left having a new love in my life....or should I say loves”. :rotfl2:

I don’t think I could pick a favorite friends episode

I’m sorry I’ve been way :offtopic: lately but I have to share this. I had to have ANOTHER talk with someone about Disney not being “just for kids”. I had just got done telling her how we go all the time and love it and she says “I just couldn’t go. It seems like it’s just for kids”. Lady, why would we go three times in one year if it’s just for kids? I shared with her all of the fun events they do at Epcot and think I completely changed her mind. She probably won’t go but maybe she won’t think it’s just for kids now.

Okay back on topic. I started looking at places to stay at gulf shores for February. I’m thinking we will go the end of February when it’s warmer so we can maybe swim. My question is should we stay in a condo, beach house, or a hotel? We could do Hilton but wouldn’t be using points. We would probably do the free breakfast though instead of earning more points. A condo to me seems similar to a hotel but you can get a lot more space. I’ve seen some beach houses on vrbo and airbnb but I’m not sure Dh and I need a whole house to ourselves. What do you guys think? I haven’t even looked on chase yet.

How long would you be staying? If anything less than 3-4 days, I've always thought hotel is best usually due to cost and no need to have facilities to cook meals in. 3/4 or more days, I would consider a condo, not a house, if just you and DH. There are plenty 1 or 2 bedrooms condos that give you space to spread out but not crazy amounts and full kitchen to have meals at the condo instead of always eating out. I always use VRBO for Pensacola Beach condos (never have stayed in Gulf Shores, too close to home I guess!)

ETA not sure end of February would be warm enough to swim! I certainly wouldn't be swimming but I have pictures of my DS from February 2017 and he was swimming in the bay! Some condo complexes and hotels have heated pools though so you might be able to do that too

@Andysol I am so very sorry to read of your loss. I cannot imagine. We've been through some pretty intense health struggles with a couple of our kids and I know how hard it is to continue to look to the Lord during those times. However we have not had to deal with anything like you have. I commend you and your wife on staying strong and clinging to each other.

I have a cousin who's dd was born with Turner's Syndrome. She had a heart defect at birth and even with surgery, did not make it. The grief was too much for them and they are now divorced. My heart aches for them as they reminded me a lot of my dh & I when they were early in their marriage (just the best of friends) but suffering the loss of a child is very hard. I've really struggled with my dd18's chronic illness. I was just angry that she got sick and stayed sick during her entire high school life while all her friends did prom and dating and SAT's...But in the end, she is still here and she is getting so much better. Her faith has been strengthened so much. I'm so very grateful for that even though I hate what she's been through. She's such a different 18yo because of what she's been through.

Anyways, all that to say, I cannot imagine what you and your DW have been through. I wish you many happy times this Christmas.

Is it really warm enough to swim in Feb? Dh & I were in Clearwater last mid-April and I didn't think the water was warm enough to swim in...BUT I am a big wimp and only like warm'ish water :D

I’m not sure exactly. I would like to stay for a week since it’s a bit of a drive but don’t know how much vacation Dh can use. I’m thinking we will probably book a condo on vrbo

It says 80s for end of February. I thought the Atlantic was warm water? Lol

Oh maybe so then?? We were on the Gulf (in Clearwater, FL). The water was chilly.

ETA: I just went back and re-read and you are on the Gulf...I would not plan on swimming. Not that going and staying isn't really nice! I grew up on the TX Gulf coast. Feb is not swimming weather unless you just like cold water!

Merry Christmas to all my DISchurner friends! What a joyous day to spend with friends and family and celebrate the reason for the season. I personally can’t wait to give my girls the gift of the Contemporary Resort Theme Park View room. I have it all setup to surprise them with that as our last gift tomorrow morning!

So fun!! I'm sure you can hardly wait to give this gift! Your excitement to give this to your dd's is so sweet.
