I love credit cards so much!

Today when I filled up at Costco it was $1.95 for regular. Lowest it's been in a long while. The stock market, oil barrel prices, all plummeting right now.

I think you live north of me. Our Costco gas here in Littleton is $1.99. Love it!!!

Well, I know how we will be meeting some MSR's. My dd16 is being put on pointe shoes for ballet. She is thrilled and so was I until I found out the cost of the shoes. I called today to make her fitting appt. They said $200 for the first pair and other moms of ballerinas are telling me the shoes last 6-8 weeks :crazy2:

The very annoyed and unhelpful lady I got using the # on the back of my CSR confirmed that is the number for the fraud dept and she does see an app in. They didn't get the address right either, transposed road and south and put washington, WA as the city and state which obviously isn't correct. Have to wait til Monday to call. At least everything is frozen now. Guess they didn't do a hard pull since I didn't get any alerts for that. Blah merry christmas.
That happened to my husband with a Kohl’s charge. They did do a hard pull too. Kohl’s reported it as fraud and instead of a full freeze we put his accounts on higher alert. No issues since that but it’s very scary. An online application but I don’t think they had his SS number

It's been over 30 days since I got my dh his SW plus so I can apply at any time for the SW biz but I'm just terrified. Completely paralyzed with fear. I have no idea why. I cancelled his CIP so he only has the CIC. This should be easy, right??

I needed a stress relief tonight so I did my SW Biz app. Needed to smile about something. Instant Approval. You're up!

After relaxing for a bit, while this is all annoying, at least hopefully it's the only thing that was done before I froze everything tonight and Chase will cancel the app on Monday. I'll check my credit reports tomorrow as a just in case. And really I was more annoyed at the phone rep I got. I used the number on my CSR thinking they'd be nicer and more helpful than the CFU but she reacted like I shouldn't have been calling her for my issue. I almost PC'd my card with her when she asked if there was anything else but figured I didn't want to press my luck and will do it next week.

@gottalovepluto thanks for the assist tonight!

I'm at a meh place with Mary Poppins Returns. It wasn't bad and it's not that it wasn't a well done movie I just don't think I liked it. I did catch a couple of moments of instrumental music from the original that were used perfectly. The original is one of my favorites but I tried very hard not to compare.

The Citi AA mailers are coming - in DS's name. I set up an account under his name. So far 2 personal mailers. I don't want to use these until I am past 5/24 so they will probably expire. Have to figure out how to get some biz mailers.
If anybody here knows how to get targeted for Citi AA biz mailers PLEASE share :) :)

Sounds like it's time for a new hobby...or a job...hahaha!!

She has a seasonal job at Target. I told her tonight that if they offer to let her stay on, she needs to do so. Her sister works at Chick-Fil-A and they are 1000% awesome to work for, so if Target doesn't keep her, she needs to apply at CFA. She already pays part of her dance tuition and I had already told her she would paying for part of her pointe shoes. I had NO idea how short the shelf life would be (or just how expensive!!). I mean, we are talking about some fabric, satin, cardboard, elastic...nothing terribly expensive here...

Same! We saw tonight too. My girls loved it but they are much easier to please than me. I liked the movie but I didn't love it. Far from loving it. This may not be a popular opinion but I didn't love Emily Blunt as Mary. I love Mary Poppins. She is one of my top favs and I just could not help comparing Emily to Julie Andrews. There was a side that Emily brought to Mary that Julie never did and I didn't feel was authentic to Mary Poppins. I tried not to compare the actresses and went into the movie saying I wouldn't but it's impossible not to (unless you've maybe not seen the original very much). I felt one of the scenes in which Mary sings was so out of character (very mildly risque, imo, and just never Mary Poppins) and that really bothered me. It was just okay.

My fav part of the movie was the cameos, but I wish Julie Andrews had done one. I read she didn't want to take anything away from Emily Blunt. I don't think it would have at all.

Overall, the movie is clean and family-friendly. I appreciate that greatly as there are so few movies like that, even in the 'kid movie' world.

I can totally see that. I saw it more as she was older too, she wasn't flirty with Jack like she was with Bert, though Jack seemed younger than her but we really don't know. Thinking about it more it's almost like it wasn't a full movie because there was more that they could have done with some and less they could have done with others and it was way more similar to the first than I first realized. I did like the opening shot of cinderella's castle and how it was set in London, I don't remember them doing something like that before. Also how they showed the credits at the beginning like they used to do with movies, it was a good nod to the original.

I saw the preview for lion king before for the first time. I know a lot of people will like it but to me it makes more sense as a cartoon. Seeing a realistic Rafiki holding Simba up and the zebra's bowing, that's just not real and should be a cartoon. Probably why, without realizing it, I wasn't interested in the jungle book remake either.

A Chase expert is welcome to correct me since as we all know they aren't my area of expertise...but CF/CFU are URs than really can only be used as cash back cards that then get the oomph of travel URs (transferring to partners, using the [crappy] travel portal) when paired with a CSR/CSP.

I'd love to be corrected on this so I can pc my CSP and DH's CSR to the CF, but pretty sure this is the current state of chase nation:laughing:

Correct. In order to transfer UR to a loyalty program the UR points must come out of a CSR,CSP or CIP. In order for them to have a cash value of greater than .01 cpp they also must come out of a CSP, CIP for .0125 cpp or CSR for .015 cpp. You can transfer point from a CF/CFU to your CSR or CSP account and they will then be worth more or can be transferred to a loyalty program. You may also transfer points from one UR account to the UR account account of ONE household member. However, in order to transfer UR points to another person's hotel or airline loyalty account they must be an AU on your card.

As much as I loathe their craptastic travel portal, I would still never be without a CSR and DH is of the same mind.

Haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting until we get the tickets from ABD, which is this year's insider gift. I'm dying to see Lin Manuel in the movie and holding off for the moment. Hamilton is touring in Ft. Lauderdale so I've been placated on my Lin Manuel fix and can wait. Tonight, we had Thai for dinner and then I had a wet Jason Momoa for dessert.

Right, I'm hesitant to post too much since I don't want to spoil but I agree...much could have been left out and much needed to be added. I'm guessing you are like me though. Picky when you mess with my classics ;)

I did not see the live action Jungle Book and I don't have a huge interest in the live action Lion King.

And this is why I am trying to be careful what i post!! I do not want to spoil it for any of you. Lin Manuel is awesome! I loved him!!

Thanks for all the CF and CFU advice!

My dd got the Discover IT (back in May, like a week after turning 18yo) and just got the CFU. The 20k UR's or $200 cash back is a great bonus on $500 MSR. At 18yo, she is thrilled about that! I also have my dd's as AU'ers on one of my chase cards and recently added them as AU'ers on my Amex plat (gold cards). I really think putting your kiddos as AU'ers helps their credit. When my dd18 got her Discover IT card, her credit score was right at 800.

So it's either $200 or 20K URs? That's good. She thinks she wants the points because she will be traveling more in the future. DD has been an AU on our Chase Disney Visa for at least 4 years and has been an AU on our Plat since she was 15 or 16. That was her first card LOL. I'm glad your DD could get the CFU - I think mine will try to get one sometime during winter break. She wants to build up her credit.

Been there. Congratulations to your DD! My DD's pointe shoes lasted for much longer than that (thank goodness). If they get wet, they get ruined since they are basically cardboard and paste. It's unbelievable what they cost. If you are lucky, your DD will fit into some of the less expensive brands - fit is so important. DD has really narrow feet and couldn't wear some of the brands because she would slide through. Some girls were going through theirs in 4 weeks, but others could go 12-16 weeks or more. It helped that DD was only 12 so she didn't weigh much (which put less stress on the shoes). I think the older girls did go through them faster. She quit at 15 so we didn't have to buy all that many in the end. The ones who went through them faster would order 3-4 at a time online since they are cheaper that way. We never got to that point since she was still growing so had to be sized all the time.

So my DD could transfer her point to DH's CSR and he could book stuff for her? This would be a pain in the long run, but she's not going to pay for (or likely even be able to get one if she wanted one) a CSR in the next year or two.

Sounds like you are teaching them good financial principles :)

Yes, you dd can transfer her UR's between all household accounts (assuming she is still living at home), and then you can redeem her points through the UR portal using your CSR.

My dd is older getting on pointe...she danced when she was little and then we took a break from age 7-11...back to dance but more jazz and theater dance until age 13. Now, it been 3 years of classical ballet training and she is finally ready. I have a feeling she will wear through her shoes sooner since she is older. If you know of an online resource we can order from, once we get established with her fit, please let me know! I am floored at the cost of these shoes :scared:

Sounds like you are teaching them good financial principles :)

I'm trying. I had to pay for everything very early on and we've never had any grandparent/parent help for anything. While I do not mind helping my kids, I do expect they 'own' their activities and work to cover part of the cost. I know that isn't popular on this board based on a thread I posted before lol :)
