How fitting: Airport Security Bins Carry More Viruses Than an Airport Toilet.

Has anyone ever taken the train from EWR to Penn Station? I'm considering taking it into the NYC when my mom and I arrive in a couple weeks. Looks like there's a train that will be good timing for when we land. It's about a mile walk Penn Station to our hotel, but I figure either we'll grab an Uber or just walk it since we're planning on walking around the city a lot anyways to see everything.
The train ride is fine, but early to mid morning is commuters going to work. Walking with luggage is not fun. Wheels on luggage is really not equipped to handle cement, stones, broken black top. A taxi or Uber will only be $5-$10.

Just stayed there, really nice stay! I didn't put a review on the hotel thread because @SouthFayetteFan's pretty much summed it up. I do recommend the free breakfast. It actually was decent as far as hotel breakfasts go, and very filling. We booked a standard room and I checked in on the app and was able to get an 18th floor Universal view room. The only thing we stopped at the front desk for was to confirm we would get the free breakfast. They had to select that option for us instead of the 1000 Hilton points.
I'll have to download the app. I didnt even think about breakfast for being gold. It seemed like a good choice to get back to after the concert too instead of back to Disney.

@DisneyMandC this!! I walked a 5 min walk in NOLA with my luggage when we changed hotels- ugh! Cobblestone meet luggage wheels did not go well.

I wonder which credit card paid for this TPG promo? Great infographics / factoids on that landing page, I have to admit.

Clicking around that special landing page, several different cards are mentioned. I guess the website could have purchased this for straight marketing to increase clicks. Because every potential click is a possible credit card app for TPG.

This fascinates me. It's kind of like the shopping cart ads for cake mix or toilet paper. A captive audience, staring at your ad -- but also not really paying attention and there's a ton of waste too. (I'm a marketer by trade).

Amex cards are super easy to get. If u have never had any Amex cards, highly suggest to see if u can get the 100k amex Plat first. if not, then u can decide what to do.
SPG Biz and SPG lux point earning wise are the same, SPG biz has an extra 4x category though. Spg Lux has some extra perks such as gold(if u need it) and a $300 credit. also gives tsa pre/global entry and PP lounge access as well.
How can I pull up the 100k offer

This morning I was complaining that I didn't get my new Amex card.

Well, today was our trash removal day, adjusted for Thanksgiving so I went out to take in my can and there was my envelop, sent UPS this time. The GOLD colored gold card. So I expect Rose will show up next week and that the email referred to that card.

Amex sends stuff every which way. SPG was Fedexed. Other cards, by regular mail. Now, UPS for gold. Not sure how to expect Rose.
I upgraded SPG to Lux on September 8th. I have yet to receive a card. My old personal card still works. I have met the 5k MSR and received my points already. Still no Lux Card. Last I heard, it was supposed to be sent beginning of November.

I had terrible mobile wallet luck over the weekend. 0 for 2 here.

First, I was at Target and scanned the wallet barcode... but for some reason it defaulted to having no payments selected at all, even though my Redcard and a gift card were loaded in there. So if you scan it and they aren't selected, it won't work at all. I ended up having to have the whole transaction voided because the employees can't remove the wallet/cartwheel scan.

Then DH and I decided to go see Wreck It Ralph 2, and killed some time at the mall beforehand. I found a shirt at the Disney Store (of course... I mean, it was a Meeko shirt! How could I not buy a Meeko shirt?) and told DH, of course I didn't bring along any of the cards we're trying to put spend on now. But then I realized, I'll use Samsung Pay/Chase Pay. Which I did, but for some reason it defaulted back to pay with points, which I didn't see until after! :badpc::badpc::badpc:

I just don't understand, I've never had these issues... since I turned off pay with points in Chase Pay the first time I used it, I've never had to do it again. And I've never had my payment methods become unselected in the Target app. No recent updates to the apps I am aware of, but I've never had the issue with other updates either. Just weird. At least the Disney Store purchase was only $13 - though I did SM Chase about it just now, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask if they could change it...

Many times as part of a longer route. Can't speak to getting to the train from EWR, but EWR to NYP is a short, simple ride, and if you're staying near Penn Station it's really easy to get around. There's even an ACE (blue) subway line connected to Penn, as well as (I think) 456 (red).

Just avoid the "name" Amtrak trains - Palmetto, Crescent, Silver Meteor/Star, Cardinal, and probably a few others I'm missing. These are the long distance trains that tend to be delayed. Stick with the Northeast Regional or Carolinian. Those are commuter and tend to be at least a bit closer to on time.

As I recall there's also New Jersey Transit, but I think that only goes to World Trade Center. From there you'd have to transfer to the E subway line to get close to Penn Station. That would be a headache with luggage.

Enjoy the trip! NYC is so great. We'll be back next weekend thanks to the Ritz 2 free nights.

Wow! TBH there isn't much difference in the two cards. It's just a slightly different colour. I have to look at the number to be sure I'm using the correct one.

But they need to send it...
