Anyone get this from AA? Is it legit? A big waste of time?

Several major airlines and hotel chains have some sort of surveys for points program. They’re legit, but tedious. I signed up for United’s, got a thousand or so total miles out of it, but gave up because too many surveys will ask you like 5+ minutes of preliminary questions only to tell you that you don’t qualify for the survey. The ones I did qualify for were pretty interesting, market research type stuff, including gauging reaction to new products and stuff under development. You may have better luck. These programs might not be big earners, but are an easy way to keep points and miles from expiring.

Does anyone have Choice privilege points and willing to check a reservation for me? Looking at Comfort Inn in Blue Ridge, GA for Sat 11/17 for one night with two beds. Thanks!
I am trying to check but the site is not currently letting me log in. I'll try again later.

Looking for help on SW CP. I have 3 flights booked next year, but all are booked as 2 passengers. If I obtain the CP, will SW be able to switch one of the passengers over to the CP fairly painlessly? The flights are all around vacation weeks and are sold out for WGA fares, so cancelling and rebooking online is not an option.

If SW can do this I will prob go for the SW Biz and Personal - if not, the CIC beckons.
As long as there is a seat available when you get your CP, you'll be able to book it. It doesn't need to be a WGA fare.

Were the flights booked on points or $? If points, they will be returned to your account. If $, you'll get a credit to be used in that passenger's name only which will be good for a year.

My husband has some Hilton points from business travel. I recently looked at the Hilton at Disney Springs for the weekend of Feb 8-10. It says 50,000 a night, but when you go to select rooms I couldn't find anything under 115,000 points a night! 115,000 a night for a room listed at $251 is crazy! I would also be curious to see if points go down.
Thank you for replying! I posted twice and wasn’t getting any responses lol. I’ll keep watching. We still have like 6 months but it would be nice to know if the point value can fluctuate.

I did the math last night and compared a normal room to their celebrio room at Hilton tokyo bay. It will cost $48 total to upgrade or 132k points. That seems like a huge difference to me.

Yes - this is a criticism that some have of Hilton. Their points costs can be "dynamic" and change like airline prices. They don't have an official published award chart that they stick to, (to my knowledge).
Thanks for replying! I haven’t seen the points change much for our dates but I’ll keep watching

probably end up keeping it forever since it will be such a potential pain for him to cancel and/or deal with.

I feel you-that's why I'm anxiously awaiting Dec 5th so I can use DH's CSR $300 then try to sweet talk him into PCing it. Of course I said that last year too:rolleyes:

And...I decided to use up half my Marriott points and R-C free night for the big grad trip, changing our hotel from the Marriott Budapest to the R-C Budapest. DD would prefer Marriott, likely, but it's also probably DM's last trip to Europe so I want her to really enjoy it. I did one free night/ one night points plus cash so we could be in a suite and I'm sure Marriott is making money off of me but the outlay in June will be less, Mom will be happy and I can feel like I'm getting some use out of my R-C card!

The remainder of my Marriott points I applied to a night at the Shelbourne in Dublin (my crazy 3 days to get home from Paris October trip). That one, I'm benefitting from since Dublin hotel prices are craazy.

Clearly I'm in the earn and burn mode but with devaluations and changes I'm okay with using up my points. I predict earning 42,000 :scared1: with our Christmas stay in Edinburgh so easy come easy go!

I was watching Hilton for a while and just gave up and booked a Hyatt. We are thinking about the Hilton cards in the future, but those bonuses sure look tiny when I see rates like this. So I clearly don't know enough to give any advice. :(

In crazy hotel pricing news, I can get the Marriott in PHL for LESS cash than the Aloft right now (I've been to both and would prefer the Marriott) but we booked the Aloft with points and it's 10K less than the Marriott. They are within 2 blocks of each other, too. I just can't pay 10K points more for a hotel that is normally the same price but today is actually cheaper. ugh.

Like the jewelry store Jared's? I'm going there after work...

Yup. And I don't wear much jewelry or buy it and if I did it wouldn't be from there. Now it's random stuff. Surprised it's not safes since I spent about 15 min looking at different ones this morning. The excitement of xmas shopping when mom buys stuff when she wants it and there's no shows in the next 6 months she'd want to go to. Hard to figure out what to get her but she wants a better safe. Thinking I'll split the cost with her cause it's more than either of us would want to spend alone and I'll end up with it eventually. Awful I know but I'm an only so there's no one else for stuff to go to.

LOL. I've already deleted the RMN app from my phone.
I think I am going to follow any chatter on this at least until the next wave of offers. If those offers are good, I might test my luck and see if anything goes through. If they are garbage, the app will be deleted!

Is the reservation currently booked together under one reservation or are they separate reservations? I think if it is one reservation, you will need to call SW to make the adjustment. If they are separate, it’s super easy since you can just cancel and go into the reservation and add the companion as long as there is any seat left (which there should be since some just freed one up :) )

Shoutout to Citi Presale Access... I just got me, DH, and my best friend tickets to see Muse in DC next April with my Citi card!! The tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow and I am confident the concert will sell out almost immediately, as their other tour dates that are available for purchase are sold out. I don't know if we got a special rate for the tickets, but the price seemed really great on them for floor seats, which is what I wanted. I've wanted to see this band since I was 13 years, so I'm VERY excited for this!

I use the app for many other things that just the cash back offers. If I’m out to dinner, I’ll check to see if the restaurant has any offers. This is how we have gotten free entrees at PF Chang’s and another places. Or if i’m Out shopping i’ll Look for coupon codes, etc...

Have you ever had the Plat, and does the mailer contain any lifetime language?

I've never had this Plat card and I can't see any lifetime language. Not applying at this time. I'm going for the gold card fairly soon.

Is this an offer where someone can use the rsvp code?

No, personal Amex mailers are nontransferrable.

Looks like it is either 16k points or 6k + $75 for the night.

ETA: That’s for 2 king beds.

There just needs to be an open seat on the plane..at any fare not just WGA...SW can’t switch the existing reservation to a companion ticket. You would have to cancel their reservation then add them to yours as your companion

Did you book with dollars or RR points....if RR points they go back in your account...if you booked with $$ the credit has to be used within a year of when the flights were booked by the person your cancelling the ticket for

Yeah we can’t switch because there aren’t a lot of options in that area right by Disney and I like the looks of the celebrio rooms. We’ll just have to deal with it. I can’t decide if Dh and I should refer each other for more Hilton cards or just deal with the points we have now and pay the rest with cash. There are more places than I thought that don’t take Amex and of course for our doctor’s bills they take everything but
