You don't take your houseplants with you on vacation? Who's going to water them and give them just the right amount of sunlight? Of course they need frequent flyer accounts! I take my fiddle leaf fig every where we go. Her name is Disgust. She's very fickle.
:rotfl:

yeah, it is a multi step process the way I have the chain set up. CSR to CF to CIP.

I’m curious as to you'd transfer to the CIP? If purchasing through the portal the points are worth more via CSR. 1.5 cpp vs 1.25 cpp. IIRC travel purchases with CIP points will only cover a business trip. If you are transferring directly to airlines then it wouldn’t matter of course.

Sorry, went back and reread the coverage. It may be covered under severe weather. Regular airline delays would not be covered.
I agree. Do not book through the cruise lines. I always book through Insure My Trip. Better coverage and less money. Make sure to get a plan within 10-15 days of booking your cruise as then any pre-existing conditions will be accepted. Have used Insurance twice. Once for DS who broke his wrist on the cruise and we had to see Dr in Mexico to rebreak and put cast on and another time I need to see Dr of Sinus Infection. You just never know what can happen. I will never cruise without cruise insurance again.

Thanks for your responses. I'm willing to chance the medical, since the kids aren't going and it's only a four day cruise (I know... anything can happen and I probably just jinxed myself) but the likelihood of a blizzard in Boston at the end of January is pretty good, so I would like some insurance on that one.
I find the fine print isn't completely straight forward, but it seems to me that I would be covered if I don't make the cruise because of flight cancellations/delays out of Boston. I did send an SM to Chase asking, but haven't heard back yet.

ETA: I received an SM back basically with a copy of the terms and conditions and saying to call with further questions, so I did.
And they said, yes, the cruise would be reimbursed if I miss it due to flight cancellations/delays caused by severe weather.
I'm liking the CSR!

In things I learned today, AA has an option to reactivate expired miles. You pay a fee, but the page says if they expired after 2002 you can call them up to reactivate them. Didn't think they'd go back that far. According to my Million Miler account I had just under 10k and that would be a $80 fee to reinstate. (thought I had more than that but I wonder if there was some kind of bonus miles in there didn't count. been so long I really don't remember other than I used eRewards to keep it active a few times so they probably didn't count. wonder if I can reinstate those too?)
It doesn't seem terrible as I'm sure the flight I could use them on would probably cost more than that. Guess I'll keep that in my back pocket if we need some extra miles. But the 60,010 sitting in the account right now from the AAviator Biz bonus is very pretty :cool2:

Ha, MSR on the Hilton Amex Biz that we just got a couple of days ago, done. Buying a new car on Saturday and they take up to $2500 on Amex! Now what the heck do I do, since I can't put spend on my incoming SW Biz until sometime in December? LOL!

Put $2K on that new SW Biz...just not the whole thing! That’s got a 3K MSR...chip away at it and then put it away until end of December.

Approved for the Southwest Biz!! Wanted the CIC but this works I guess.

Congrats! Is this odd or does it maybe just confirm that it's easier to get a co-branded card from Chase?

I'm not sure why this intrigues me because I'm over 5/24 and the 48 months change to the Sapphires killed my motivation to try to get back under, but why would Chase approve the SW Biz but not the CIP?

Yet another SW CP question :-)

I had planned on getting the Biz in December and applying in-flight for a personal during Jan/Feb (should visit my aunties in Sac). However, I need to go visit an ill family member in CO the week after Thanksgiving. Should I reverse the applications to hit up the personal in-flight in a couple weeks and do the biz application in early January? I am 2/24 with a CF 6/18 and CSR 9/18.

Bonus PP question: Timberline at DEN is good, right? Does it get horribly busy? I have no idea what our flights will be; have to go look now.

I think your fine applying both ways....business in December then personal Jan/Feb or personal end of November then business in January ...your spacing out the applications about every 2 months..

We just did the inflight last week and the plan is to do the Biz in January, so I think your plan works. We hit Timberline and had no problems, but I have read it can get really busy. We were there 2 hours before boarding and had no issues. I wouldn't cut it much closer, especially if it is a busy time. We were seated right away, but it was pretty full at around 3:30 on a Wednesday. We had 2 beers, 2 entrees and a dessert and it came to $55 something. So perfect for our $56 credit.

Thanks! I just booked for $69 o/w pp PHL DEN :cool1: We'll be departing at 5:50 on Saturday 12/1, so I'm hoping Timberline won't be too busy around 3:30 or so then!

I’m only one DP but I’m thinking it’s easier to get chase cobranded cards. I really don’t know why I couldn’t get the CIC tho. My SO got the CIP and CIC without any issues and we have the same information. Credit scores are similar too.

Thank you to those of you who were discussing the reddit churning tracker spreadsheet recently! I just started using it and it is so helpful!
