I love credit cards so much!

Getting ready to go over 5/24. If I get this Southwest Biz card I’m ready to pull the trigger. I have laid out a tentative “App o Rama”

CSP (4000)

Freedom (500) not expecting to get this but the $100 referral would be nice.

Barclays Arrival plus (5000)

Barclay AA (1 purchase)

Us Bank altitude (4,500)
May not do this. Can’t MS at all but that’s ok I can put my wedding deposit on the card, but the annual fee is high and idk how the travel credit works. Probably should just go for it tho.

Citi AA personal (4000).

I’m currently working on two Amex Blue Biz cards. (6k is easy tho lol) I’m saving SOs Southwest Biz for January. By January I would need to MS 21.5k plus $4500 in organic spend. The wedding deposit is $4000. Oh, oops and I will need to do my Southwest Biz if I’m approved.

Come January I will hopefully have only SOs Southwest Biz and a Southwest personal for him. GCM is an easy way to knock this out tho.

Anyone have any thoughts? Something to add? Don’t know if I’m comfortable taking on much more spend but I’m open to suggestions.

Do you know of any resource that tells you how to begin with the GrAAvy train? I don't really get it and it's rarely mentioned here.

Make fake accounts with your last name and your address. Mailers should come a few months later. I have been seeing some in my informed delivery but only actually got a few. My mail person stinks or is a churner.

Sounds like fun :)
Just checking, the Freedom you mention, that's the CFU? The CF referral program ended, all the links are down.

My referer called chase and they said it is up and working as of today. That person could be wrong tho. The person hasn’t sent me the link yet.

Any thoughts on Hilton vs Marriott points (ease of collection, value, etc)? Anyone travelled to Paris/DL have recommendations? We're planning a trip to Paris (and DL!) either fall 2019 or spring 2020. We currently have a small amount of points for both, but only a Hilton Ascend cc that I can use it to rack up some points. DH was traveling for work a bit and stays at Marriotts so we have some pts sitting there too, but we don't have any Marriott/SPG cards to generate more pts. He doesn't have anymore trips planned.

Places we're looking at for both chains cost about the same # of points, so if the value of a Marriott pt is the same as a Hilton pt, then the cost would be the same. With the Ascend though, I do get Gold status which gets us free breakfast and an upgrade. I've never used the upgrade feature though so I'm not sure if we book the lowest value room, it would get us much? Anyone have experience with this? I think both gives you a 5th night free for 4 night redemption. Not sure which one I should start trying to accumulate/get a card for? Thoughts?

Hm either a magical CSR or a confused one. Still can't get a link from my CF, just checked in the app and the website. Website still only shows the CFU in the catch all. I guess let us know if you manage to get it :) I'd much rather be wrong :p

Is there a certain card that is best to begin with?

Freedom or Freedom Unlimited? I do see refer friend for my CFU. I haven't checked my Dischurner links in forever.

Yikes the CSR was probably clueless ugh.

I’m going for the personal platnium. Then whatever mailers I get I will try and use.

Feeling old. I had to look up that acronym.

I created a new post on DISchurners about it. I won't be discussing it here.

:thumbsup2 I'll go read over there. I'm curious.

I was wondering the same thing. Also wondering if it's too late for me since I already have a Citi AA card and it's my oldest card so I won't be closing it anytime soon.

Was looking for something else on r/churning and noticed this announcement about Expert Flyer - it's now part of the TPG family.

https://thepointsguy.com/news/expertflyer-joins-the-points-guy/

I know this will be a blow to some. I only skimmed the article since I have never used the product but one of the improvements is a higher amount of alerts for Premium subscribers, now you have 200 active alerts available. At the end of the article they are looking for feedback for other improvements.

Woohoo, after being skunked yesterday in the Marriott game, I got 50 today but dh got 2000!! I am totally fine with him getting more, as he had points I didn't realize he had, that were not enough for much, but now with this game, he will hopefully have enough for a night somewhere at some point.
And my internet is back, so no more venting for me.

Since they're both no AF cards with the same sign up bonus, how soon do you think you could change a CFU to a CF? Would you really have to wait a whole year? Been curious if this is an option for folks trying to combine the support bonus on top.

So it's not too late for me to think about trying it if I already have that one card?

You will need a mailer with a code that has no restrictive language. You can make fake accounts to try and get some sent to you or buy or ask for them on reddit Tuesday code sharing thread. You can hold multiple cards at the same time so no need to cancel,

Interesting idea. I wonder if that would get chase upset. I have had the CFU for over a year so can’t try that out.

The solo part of my trip starts now, a new thing for me at Disney. Should be fun but different. Off to AK for my first ride on FOP.
Enjoy your solo trip. :flower1::yay:
I haven't done WDW solo but I have done 2 solo DL trips and 2 solo US -Orlando trips and 1 US-Hollywood trip. I've also done NY, Chicago, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Boston solo. Sounds like a lot once I type it out. I travel for work about once a year. I usually extend the trip by a few days to explore and have fun in a new place.

Going solo is great as you get to eat when and where you want. See the sights you want. Ride what you want as many times as you want (may have ridden Gringotts 5 times in a row in single rider line!). Toughest part was waiting for the parade as no one to hold my spot if I needed a bathroom break. I don't have any issues eating alone or being by myself. I am pretty introverted so that helps.

So, we've both been getting 50 Marriott points every single day, and then today, neither of us got any!! What is up with that??
