I love credit cards so much!

I worry I would regret not getting white or a silver/gray color, something neutral. But now I see this one:

That's so pretty! I haven't seen it with that bowl. I just have the metal bowl with the handle, but I like it because it's harder to break.

Chiming in on the stand mixers. Best gift DH ever got me. Have had mine - KA Classic in white - for probably 10 years. I don't have my hand mixer anymore. It really helps now that I have arthritis in my hands. I can't mix the peanut butter for Buckeyes by hand anymore so I use the stand mixer. I use if for all mixing - baking plus mashed potatoes, meatballs,...

My preference is the metal bowl vs the glass bowl. I got a small bowl with the mixer. Too small and no handle. A year or two later got a larger glass bowl with a handle. I hated it. It was so heavy. I took it back and got the metal bowl with a handle. So much lighter. Really recommend getting a bowl with a handle. With Christmas baking coming up, I need to get another one so I don't have to clean the one I have when I go from cake mix to cookie batter!

Mine lives on the counter. Agree it is too heavy to lift up and down!
I have my original, circa 1993. Runs like a champ. It lives on my countertop too, and I bought a cover for it. https://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-K...ocphy=9032623&hvtargid=pla-274988585665&psc=1

I had to wait 24 hours before. The transfer chain isn't too bad to set up and use.

I think the problem is when you linked your CSR to your DH's CS. I think your CSR can only receive EITHER from you OR your DH, but not BOTH. All of my personal and business cards (CIC and CIP) can transfer to my CSR. I have all of DH's URs transfer to my CF, then transfer my CF to CSR. No problems that way.

ETA: If the only UR card you have is your CSR then I can see it would be a hassle to keep switching the CSR between your and your DH's cards. If that's the case, and you're under 5/24, I'd try to get another UR card.

I have all my personal cards go to DHs CSR plus my CIP straight to his CSR and all of his cards go to his CSR. I haven’t had to do any chains. Hope I didn’t jinx myself.

You mean to bring the drugs into the country, or to get the Rx filled there? DS had his meds packed (not ADHD), and I didn't think anything of it. We probably broke a law we didn't know about - lol.

I was just reading about meds. It said to take a doctors note with the prescription on it, but some meds, specifically Ritalin, were not allowed in certain countries

Certain countries like Japan will not allow ADHD meds at all (yet another reason I'm happy to never ever ever return). Spain has to have a doctor's note with a bunch of stuff on it, then we were emailed from one of their ministry departments 3 files with very official looking stamps and signatures, etc. This was for a 3 week program-I can't imagine having to obtain medications! After all the drama, DD said no one ever asked her for it. I had tried to talk her out of the paperwork hassle and take a risk and she was "no way, I've heard Spanish prisons are horrible!!" Fine, we'll be law abiding...

Your DD is a lot more resourceful than I was!

LOL-that time she was, and the time she lost her purse in Greece. Last year in Spain when she spent all her Euro she was calling and asking for money. Mean Mom that I am said no way, you have a credit card-if you can't charge it you can't eat it. In my defense, she had about 24 hours before boarding an Iberian then BA flight so I knew she'd be fed something soon :)

tink1970, your post made me smile because it’s just so true. And wouldn’t you know i’m at WDW this very moment with CaliforniaGirl09. Her Apple photos thinks I’m a membe of her family, lol (not sure my DH and kids find it as amusing, as they get left out of these race weekend trips to WDW since my kids can’t miss the school days). But to get to the point, it’s CaliforniaGirl’s daughter who is at university in England. (But, of course, my dd who is a jr in high school has ambitions of her own of going to university in Scotland or England.)

Thanks, I should have some sort of spreadsheet to keep y'all separate but...I'm not @Lain! Good luck with the Wine and Dine! I so miss running and runDisney events! They were great little get aways.

My DD has wanted to attend St Andrews since she was 13, but as I remind her, you don't apply you don't attend. Sigh.

@amalone1013 -- I had a pink KA stand mixer for years and gave it to the church's rummage sale a couple of years ago. Otherwise, I would have mailed you mine.

I feel left out on the KA talk. Lol. I think my mixer was probably $20 at Walmart. I always think I want a KA, but last year my DH suggested we buy one and I said no. I don’t have room on my counters and I really don’t like to cook/bake. I like the idea of it, but I don’t think I’d use it anymore than my hand mixer, which isn’t that often. I just used my mom’s to make something and I was telling my friend it was a flop. She told me I needed a stand mixer, because she tells me that often. Lol But she didn’t know I was using one and the recipe still didn’t turn out right. So I guess it won’t magically make me a good cook or someone who likes to cook so I will stick with my cheap easy to store version.

Just tried to transfer points from my CIP to CSR and got this message "This card is not eligible to receive points from you at this time.". :badpc:

Anyone run into this before?
I had that exact same problem. They were able to manually transfer the points for us

Oh yeah, I'm definitely going to get a CIP. I don't need the points immediately so I could have waited a little. Was just trying to sneak in a Freedom in addition for this quarter, but it won't work out. :-)

Of course! :) I was just thinking it'd be better to grab the 80k now in case Chase does something negative to the bonus before May. It's hard to gamble on what happens bonus wise but I think 80-100k in the hand is worth more than a potential 100-120k later... but that could be because my luck is mostly that I wait for the extra 20-40k to come around again and they reduce it by 20-30k instead :)

I know the CIP has been pretty consistent with the 80k offer but I figure all good things have to end at some point when they reach a quota for sign ups. The Freedom is pretty consistent and I'd rather have the extra sign up bonus over a quarter at 7500. But everyone is different and there's nothing wrong with either.

From Swolphin thread:

As of earlier this week, Marriott took over the Swan Dolphin website. The room rates have increased and you now have to give a pretty sizable deposit down!

I guess this makes the point value better than when we first heard of this change and I ran the math on my own stay?

I did my DH’s app from my ipad, but assuming the phone would work similarly, under settings, connect to SW WiFi once you board. Then once you’ve been in the air for a while, use safari to go to the Southwest website. I found the credit card offers under the Rapid Rewards tab. As per my post of a few days ago, it took quite a while into the flight for the 50k offers to pop up. At first, all I was seeing was 40k offers. If you wait a while into your flight, maybe the 50k offer will just pop up right on the SW website. Good luck!
Is safari only for apple products? I gave an android.

The Chase Freedom cards are working for the 1500 MR for 5x Chase Pay. I did not receive an email, so to be certain I sent a secure message asking if my Chase Freedom card was eligible for the offer. They replied that it was eligible, though they called it a Chase Freedom Ultimate card, which I had not heard of before.

Thanks! It is still $25, correct?

Of course, I went to Starbucks and they're out of red cups for their promo, and their app was down so you could only pay and not reload :sad2: Then the Chase Pay app tried to tell me I had a jailbroken phone and my phone needed to be restored to factory settings :confused3

So excited. Can not wait for Monday. One question about south west. Just to confirm, I bought the early bird for my family so I personally do not have to check in for our Monday flight? The system will automatically check us in??

Yes the system will automatically check you in....they 24 hours or less before your flight you can follow the check In Procedures to print out your boarding passes or just do it at the airport

fell asleep early but i saw a tag to look up for flights. what flights am i looking up?

In the past, most bloggers valued a Marriott point at $0.007 cpp. That's about the value I see too. So 2000 Marriott points is worth $14. But you're meeting a spending bonus and it will get you 1/5 of the way to $5K MSR.

1/5 of 100K Marriott = 20K Marriott x $.007 = $140

So I see it as worth $154 for your $24 cash outlay; netting you $130.
Okay, now I feel much better. Thanks for walking me thru it.
