I love credit cards so much!

We don’t have Kroger, unfortunately. (I’m in NY.) I admire how some people here maximize the VGC/MCGC deals. I don’t have a way to buy MOs with them to liquidate them so I don’t bother.

I haven't ventured into the MO arena yet. I just buy ones that we can liquidate through organic spend. I always seem to spend them!

What would you say is too small of a volume for the 6qt?
The only time I run into an issue is when I do half a batch of pizza dough (2 cups of flour). Anything bigger than that seems fine. But I also bought a paddle with a scraper. Highly recommend that vs. the paddle that comes with it. Of course you use the bread hook for pizza/bread/bagel dough.

Thank you...it's hard to change my thinking in this area, but it would give me piece of mind to get a good start on the 5k MSR. Is 2000 Marriott pts close to $24 cash to ease my mind?

In the past, most bloggers valued a Marriott point at $0.007 cpp. That's about the value I see too. So 2000 Marriott points is worth $14. But you're meeting a spending bonus and it will get you 1/5 of the way to $5K MSR.

1/5 of 100K Marriott = 20K Marriott x $.007 = $140

So I see it as worth $154 for your $24 cash outlay; netting you $130.

Omg I found the reddit churning google doc template and I’m in love. I’m putting all my info that’s currently in my ugly excel sheet and putting it into this google doc.

Guys, I'm debating a stand mixer again. It's like Prime Day all over again. But better...

Kohl's, $280 but 20% off makes it $224, $237 with tax shipped to my door. I could get:
  • $60 in Kohl's cash and DH is low on good jeans
  • $11.20 in Kohl's rewards
  • Go though Shopkicks app for 6% back, ~$13.50 that I'd put towards Disney GCs
  • Stop at Kroger on the way home for a Kohl's GC for ~$235 - even at the normal 2x points that's $12.70 in free gas
  • Use Chase Pay/Samsung Pay at Kroger, plus for the last $2ish to pay (I think Kohl's counts as a dept store) - 1185 URs (worth $17.78+ with CSR)
So I pay $237... but get $115ish via different reward programs...

As a comparison, the Prime Day Deal would have come in at around $198 OOP plus $5ish in Starriott points... This price of $237 seems within $20ish of the best prices I'm seeing in my research.

Yes, I have a problem.
Just saw that Stop & Shop and some other grocers have $10 off $50 Kohls gc (with $10 grocery purchase).

I was looking at RMN this morning and see $4 cash back for $30 purchase at Staples.

I have a couple more Amex offers today that I didn't have yesterday.

15% back on supermarket purchases up to $10
Spend $75 or more and get back $10 on select home furnishings (includes Bed, Bath, and Beyond)
Spend $75 or more and get back $10 at home improvement stores (includes Lowe's and Home Depot)

ETA: The Enterprise deal showed up for me today too!

ETA Again: I had the spend $200 on Amex Gift Cards and get $10 off. I also see that I have an offer on my SPG biz to "Save on Business Gift Cards." It says there are no purchase fees on Amex gift cards through the end of the year with code AXPBUSHOL18. So sounds like that means you basically get $200 worth of Amex gift cards for $190.
I wish these deals weren't so randomly assigned! I got the grocery deal but not the home furnishings or home improvement.

This is my first 5k MSR, so I'm a little nervous. My taxes are 1000 so it really will just cost me $24. Is 2000 SPG pts close enough to make this a no brainer.

If there is a possibility of NOT making MSR, then I wouldn't think of it as paying $24 for 2000 Stariott points, I'd think of it as paying $24 for 125k points. That we know would get you at least 2-3 nights at the S&D or 4-5 nights at many other places. That should put it in a better perspective. Since AmEx offers are once in a lifetime (or possibly a doggie year) if you don't make the MSR that would be an expensive lesson. In that case even I'd spend the $24.

However, if you can meet it without fees then that means more profit for you. That's my preferred method for everything CC related, the least amount of fees if any at all. But if it means the difference between getting the bonus and not, $24 is a small price to pay. (plus you earn points on the fee so it'd be 2048 Stariott pts. woo :p)

And of course none of the deals are on the SPG Biz I'm still working on MSR on lol. I'll just grab Disney GCs from BB&B and Lowe's though. I need to read the fine print for the supermarket purchase. I have another $10 off $50 Walmart grocery coupon so I may use it on that if Wal-Mart will work.

Ugh I never get these good offers.

Do the Business GC's get free shipping? Otherwise I haven't seen a promo code that erases both in a while. Was hoping for one last year but it never appeared that I found. But I think the shipping is cheaper than the fees, unless that's changed, so getting the fees waived was always the better promo code.

ETA: YIKES I was wrong, shipping is up to 8.95 now. Purchase fee for each card is 6.95. So if you're buying one it'd be better to find free shipping, if buying multiple then free purchase fee is better.

I had maxed out on offers listed so I painfully added all the 'extra point' offers to get them out of the way (and clutter up my Saved offers section) to make space. I re-login and more offers pop up but as I'm scrolling I only really notice new stuff like Tervis and more wine so was getting a little :badpc: that I wasted the time and space just to get Tervis when one of the last options is
Spend $75 or more and get back $10 on select department stores, here's the list:
Bealls, Belk, Bloomingdale’s, Boscov’s, Century 21, J.C. Penney (JCP), Kohl’s, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Stein Mart.

Was hoping for Home Improvement stores but maybe I'll get lucky and hubby has it on one of his.

Do you have any pending charges that maybe haven't posted yet? I would try calling. I don't think those reps know what they're talking about most of the time. One tried to argue with me that I was $200 off yet and I told him what my number was and then he said "you're correct." My points posted.

I messaged them about MSR and the said I had $8 left to reach my $2k spend. My balance was 2100. I asked how can balance be >2k and the reply was that even though all the charges had posted, they weren’t all “counted” yet. The bonus posted a couple days later. :confused3

My 100K MR bonus posted this morning! Thanks for sharing your experiences! Now I can add mine to the collective wisdom here.

While I am asking questions, I know there were also parents who had kids study abroad, any tips for that? Money, phones, how not to panic when they are a half world away for so long, etc...

My dd spent 5 1/2 months in England. For the phone, she got a SIM card in England and bought a UK plan for the time she was there. It was soooooooooooo much cheaper than our phone plans back here LOL. For the length of time she was there, the Verizon international plan would not have been at all cost effective, and neither was using wi-fi only. She did quite a bit of travelling and used her phone a lot for directions etc.
For money, she had an ATM/Debit card (wth is the difference???) from her Cap One 360 account. They didn't charge any extra fees for foreign ATMs. Worked out great. As far as the panic, well, not much I can say there. Most of the time I was pretty ok. Once her phone died when I knew she was alone in London after dark, so I freaked a little, till she got back to her hostel and messaged me. The town she lived in was not a huge city like London, so I wasn't too worried there. She did travel alone a few times, Ireland, other parts of the UK, Berlin, but I managed to not really panic for some reason. It was such an amazing experience for her, and she learned so much about being independent, it was wonderful.

On another note, my first Chase BIZ card, my SW Visa, went to approved status this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if only I could find a way to get a 50k offer on the regular SW cards!!!!
The SW will sit dormant until the end of the year, while I meet the MSR on DH Hilton Biz that's on it's way (oddly, I have an AMEX envelope that looks like a card in informed delivery today in my name (the name I put on the BIZ AU cards only) but no envelope in his name).

It was like Sophie's Choice this morning. Had to get some makeup from Sephora... ended up choosing the $5 back via RMN off $60 spend versus the extra miles in the United portal.

Lo and behold I found out I'm targeted for both the Amazon x10 miles on my Hilton AND the extra 10% cash back at Walmart this weekend. Sadly the giftcards don't count on that Walmart deal.

For the KitchenAid discussion I'll put a plug in for the online outlet. Several years ago I got one of the giant pro models (with the really high tilt head in white) for $199. All steel parts, very large bowl. I've made plenty of pizza dough in it. It was reconditioned. I've had no issues. Granted I don't use it often but the thing is built like a tank. Since I blew up my back I can't really even lift it anymore - DH has to move it for me.
