I love credit cards so much!

I know adding my P2 as an employee to my CIC didn't count against her card total. Are all business cards the same, as far as adding an employee, as opposed to an AU?
I know for all Chase business cards they don’t count against her card total....pretty sure they don’t for Amex either since they don’t count against yours....but let someone who has added an Employee to their card confirm

My Hilton biz has an offer for $45 back on $225 at doubletree

I have that too. I have DH and his parents booked at a Doubletree for FIL's treatment in December, but I booked at 29k points a night. I just checked and rooms are now $200 a night, so I'm not going to switch from the points booking.

I also just looked and see that this Doubletree is going to start charging $12 a day for parking starting Dec. 1. Their reservation is Dec. 5-7, and I booked it months ago. I wonder if they're going to try to charge them for parking...

Two good Amex offers I’m seeing: $5 off $15 at Samsclub.com

$5 off $20 at five guys.

Now that we can only add offers to one card how do you guys pick which card to add it to? I did my Biz Plat because that’s the card I most likely want a retention offer on, but maybe I should pick something else? A card that’s easier to get a retention offer maybe?

Thanks! I was able to add it to all 4 of our EDP cards. I did have to add about 50 offers to "Add to My Card" before all of the offers showed up. I have offers added that we will never even contemplate using!

I did also see a $5 off $20 at Shutterfly which I use to buy giftcards on each card and then place a big order with the funds.

Lol you sound JUST like me. I recently started getting into ebooks because I love being able to read anywhere on my phone. I'll stay up super late trying to finish a book only to find out the next book is checked out. It takes a lot of self control not to just buy the next book
I am terrible about staying up late, always have been. Barnes and noble got a lot of my first job paycheck and baby sitting money growing up. Full disclosure... I bought it. Its a favorite author, and she has several trilogies and quartets set in the same universe (which I'm a sucker for glimpsing old characters like that). I own the majority of them already. But this trilogy, I never read the last book. The second is checked out but its been years so I dont remember much. I thought, maybe I'll read another of her quartets... nope, no ebook at all from the library on that one. I also realized I bought the third book in the trilogy a long time ago on accident... so I have no self control, basically.

3 years ago when getting a new phone, DH got talked into a tablet. It was at Costco and the deal was that it cost $150 but you got a $150 costco gift card with it. But it went on my plan because DHs phone was about to be moved to his works plan. Good thing it was only $5 a month to add to the plan, because it was barely used for about 9 months... basically until I put the kindle app on it :) I was taking it to work every day to read at lunch, but I dropped it and cracked the screen a few months ago and it's hard to work now. But I'm still paying the $5 because its grandfathered in, so if I cancel and add another later it will cost more. I've been looking for a good deal but no luck. I like having data access for $5 for when we travel.

Can't wait to see what the new offer will be. 90% chance it's going down, but they've fooled me before so we will see tomorrow morning!

Happy Halloween to everyone!

Sure enough, both the SPG Luxury and SPG Business (public) welcome offers went down to 75k Marriott points after $3k/3 months. Lower spend, but lower points.

DISchurners PSA: If you have support links up for these cards, please adjust the offer descriptions accordingly.

ETA: Support links are still showing the old 100k Marriott points offers, but with a 10/31/18 expiration date.

I'm also noticing that I can't generate a SPG Biz link from a personal SPG card.

SPG Lux lets me refer to SPG Lux or Personal.

SPG Personal does not let me cross refer within the SPG family.

SPG Biz lets me refer to SPG Biz and SPG Personal.

I'm wondering if Amex nerfed universal/family referrals.

P.P.S. From my Biz Plat, I'm still able to generate universal referrals to most of Amex's cards (including the popular Plat, Gold, BGR, BBP, all the Hiltons), but interestingly not the SPG Lux.

In our family, staying up late reading means you're a member of the Bad Decisions Book Club--as in, what did you do last night? Oh, I had book club :D

I had a really hard time with this when my kids wanted to stay up and read because it's a bad decision I make a lot myself. The Harry Potter releases were the worst -- I might have actually promised them that I wasn't going to read any more either but then maybe did . . .

I usually book Alamo even if it’s more expensive then budget solely because you can pick your car with Alamo.
Do you mean go straight to the car and skip the counter? Or something like National, where you reserve a mid size but pick whatever is in the aisle? I didn't know Alamo had something like that.

I’ll check mine when off mobile & see what I can pull. I do recall my Hilton’s only let me refer to Hilton’s. I had assumed that was a glitch but maybe not?

Does AMEX have anything like Chase's SM service? I'd like to expedite a card.

they have a chat box u can chat with someone live vs an SM but they dont have much power when it comes to SM. Ur best option is to call Amex directly and get whatever card expedited. that being said, i never was able to get them to expedite anything but the platinum card.

so weird, it was there yesterday... :\ i was checking for someone...

One more day of work to struggle through until my redeye tonight. So ready for wdw! It's been 2 years.

As for the job, half my computer got here yesterday so maybe the monitors will get here so I'll have it for the last hour. Haha. Still spending most of my day watching people work, super fun!

Think I'm close to being done with my AS biz spend, those RMN offers in Sept really helped.

Hyatt Place has been a go to brand for me. Our fam trip next week has 3 nights at 2 different Hyatt Place hotels. 2 booked with points, 1 with URs. The Hyatt Place breakfast drama continues & even with TPG’s rundown I’m still confused... https://thepointsguy.com/news/no-more-free-breakfast-at-hyatt-place-if-you-dont-book-direct/
-max occupancy 4. Isn’t max occupancy 6? Or at least 5 considering 2 queens & the sofa bed...
-how will they enforce? This is going to make HPs a lot more inconvenient if they start roping areas to breakfast off and checking room keys? Vouchers? The hotels just aren’t designed for that

-Nov 1 start date. For bookings on Nov 1 or stays on Nov 1? I was screwed out of my Hyatt House appetizer hour when they went to a la cart purchases with no notice so I wouldn’t put it past Hyatt to make it for stays

-signing up to be WOH while there will get you free breakfast, so if anyone signs up you fix your breakfast problem? All WOH members who book an eligible rate get breakfast- what exactly is an “eligle rate” because I can’t figure that part out either from Hyatt’s fine print (maybe they’ve fixed that, I’ll check)

I did notice when I went to check prices on the new UR/Expedia portal breakfast was a more expensive rate.

Watch your room occupancy numbers with HP. I noticed sometime back HP Anaheim (I think) was charging by the person. Essentially charging for breakfast I felt. To do that still and blatantly charge for breakfast could result in laughable rates for such a basic property.

In other words, Hyatt thinks Marriott’s free breakfast flow-chart for elites is a nice starting point but you should really apply it to everyone at a normally free breakfast hotel for maximum confusion.
