I love credit cards so much!

So far it appears to be showing up only on CSP portal, which has updated to the new website for me. It's not showing up on either of my CIPs, and someone reported yesterday it's not working on the CSR website. I would call into Chase and try, but it's unlikely to work. I would definitely ask them to report that it's not working so that maybe we can get this back in the game for the future. I was super unhappy with my agent. I asked him what actions Chase was going to take if I would be unable to book these tickets with my URs for a 1.25 redemption. He responded "I don't understand your question." Really, because it's not that hard to get. How are you going to make this right if I end up having to pay cash for something I should be able to book on your website, since you have it advertised there.

Oh man. I didn't even check the CSP or CIP. Guess I can try those. Since I only need one, I might be willing to do the 1.25 redemption. Maybe. :/

My agent was really terrible. Nice but no clue. She kept asking me if other things were the tickets. no, those are shuttles or blue man group or whatever. She tried to tell me they were sold out. Then I explained how they work. She googled and told me I can still get them via the Universal website. Uh, yep but not with points? It was bizarre and so unhelpful.

She did say she was filing a complaint on my behalf. But likely not much will happen before I would need to have it. I do still have my travel credit but I was hoping to use that for food and stuff that I was going to charge to my room. Ugh.

EDIT: OK, CSP had it. It is about 3500 point difference. Ugh. Touch decision...those points are valuable!! lol.

Oh man. And I still have to call it in because I can't just get one child ticket. They might not even be able to help me anyway. Might be a moot point.

As of this past Saturday, I'm under 5/24. Is the consensus that I need to wait until 11/1 to apply for the CIP?

Do you know which credit bureau Chase pulls for you? Check Credit Karma for EQ/TU, and the Experian app for EX.

If Chase's pulls appear only on EX, you'll notice all your accounts are back-dated to the first of the month. You are safe to apply, because Chase will see you as under 5/24.

This will only work if EX is the only bureau Chase pulls for you. If they pull EX and one or both of the others, you'll be denied.

Ughhhhhhh. Was this regular or cruise and tours??

Ugghhh so annoying. I couldn’t find them on CSR site

No, just regular, but I may try them tomorrow. My completely uninformed opinion is that something must be messing up with them transferring from Connexions to Expedia and updating their website format. Because I definitely have the updated website on my CSP, but not on any of my other cards.

Totally understand. If you decide to book with CSP and get it to work, let me know.

And yes, the agents have been AWFUL! Not to be age-ist, but I've honestly felt like I've been walking my 96 year old grandma, who once asked me what a selfie was and if you had to be naked in it, through how to purchase these tickets. I think everyone I've talked to so far (three different agents) took this job as a part time retirement gig. In fact, the agent yesterday told me that her grandson worked at Universal. The one today could NEVER find the 2 day 2 park PTP tickets I wanted to buy. That's when I told her she had been very helpful but could she please escalate me to a supervisor.

I really do love the greatest generation. Just not when I'm trying to book a very specific item on a computer!

I'm seeing 50,000 Hilton Points for either a King Room or 2 Queen Room for 1 night - May 11th, 2019. Depending on which rate you compare it to, it is 0.5cpp-0.6cpp on the Hilton points. Looks like you'd have to transfer 20,000 MRs to get to 50k (If I'm looking at this correctly) and that's a pretty good value IMO.

I personally don't have 50k Hilton points to confirm they'd actually let me book this rate though. When I go to book it says "rate no longer available" but I think that's just because I have very little Hilton points.

Does anybody here have 50,000+ Hilton points and can you confirm for @mmmears that the night of May 11th is available for 50,000 points at this property: https://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/new-york/hilton-new-york-jfk-airport-NYCJFHF/index.html

I'd prefer we get an actual confirmation that somebody can get to the booking screen before I recommend you make this transfer.
@mmmears It looks bookable to me. I'll try and post a screenshot.

I have enough points, and I was able to get to the booking screen. I didn't actually book LOL, but I got as far as I could without actually booking it. No issues, 50 points for the King or double queen.

I just applied for the Barclay Arrival + for DH and got an instant approval!

I listened to @Lain and decided to use Plastiq/my mom's bills to meet some MSRs. Hopefully this won't impact his ability to go for the SW CP at the beginning of 2019. He's only 2/24 so hopefully he'll be fine.

So, just to clarify, I have a card that will hit its 2-year anniversary on Oct. 25 (and put me at 4/24). I believe Equifax is the credit bureau that Chase pulls here in Idaho. Are you advising that I shouldn't apply for CIP on Oct. 26 but should wait until Nov. 1? Thanks.

No not at all. I'm almost certain you are at 5/24 when you hit 365 days (but someone else will need to confirm that). I just know the first day of the month trick works with Chase and Experian.

:offtopic: If you know of a job opening because the person left the role but it hasn't been posted do you apply or wait for it to get posted? I don't think it was posted last time, it was filled internally. Also of note, the exec director/pres over the org is interim and there's no actual HR so I would send to the interim person.

The job is also located in another state so I would be trying to work remotely, which there are other people doing in other roles. I have a relationship with the org since I currently volunteer in a role that reports to the person under the one I want to potentially apply for. Other hurdle is not knowing the actual job description just the title and the bit I've worked with the people previously in the position. It's also a job I would apply for regardless of whether I currently had a job or not.

I second @Happy814 on everything. Word of mouth is still how many people get into jobs, advertised or not. And if they typically choose a replacement before they post it, then you definitely want to get into their head ASAP. That's how my Dad got his last job, they guy was leaving, knew my dad was good, told him about the job and somehow got Dad connected with his boss. Boss agreed he was good and hired him to fill his friend's spot. I'm not even sure the job ever got truly posted. They worked in the same job within the same industry, just at different companies, so the boss knew he could hit the ground running.

If it's something you would drop everything for anyway, then go at it with all the passion you feel for it. I wouldn't mention the remote working yet, just what you can bring to that role (at least what you perceive that role to be) and how your current connection to the org can make you uniquely qualified due to your experience (yadda yadda yadda, you know the drill). If it's an awesome job it might be worth considering relocation at least temporarily and then work on them to become a remote worker.

Great. Thanks. Was hoping to have applied already, but since I'm not 100% certain of the credit bureau Chase pulls here, it seems safer to wait until Oct. 26.

UGGGH! All this talk on Hilton made me realize I have wanted to get DHs Hilton points in my account so they are all together. But for some reason I can't log in to the Hilton site with his member ID. I am wondering if I didn't create the Hilton account first but got the AMEX Biz card first and they assigned a number. Mostly because I was trying the forgot your password option and that doesn't work because I don't have the preferred email. He only has two emails. His "real" one and the one for CCs that I monitor! It looks like we are going to have to call. Not looking forward to that. Should have realized something would fall through the cracks as I am now managing 15 new accounts across CC, banks, airlines and hotels this year.

Here's a great reference page from DoC. You can also register for Credit Karma + Experian app - it's a good idea in general for keeping an eye on your credit report.
