Decided to apply for a American Express business card in between Chase applications....

If I’m looking at the Business MR earning cards correctly...these are the 3 that would have no annual fee the first year

Blue Business Plus...using a referral link...10,000MR after 3k MSR..I also saw a 20,000MR after 5k MSR but not sure if it’s still available

Business Green...referral link...5,000MR after 1 purchase.... $95 annual fee waived 1st year

Business Gold referral link ...50,000MR after 5k MSR...$175 annual fee waived 1st year

Are there other offers I’m missing....are the above good bonus offers...any recommendations on which one to apply for first or any I should hold off on and waiting for a better bonus....lots of questions...lol...appreciate any help

Idk if the offer is still available but there were targeted offers for the Business Gold for 75,000 after 5k in spend.

Walmart is killed by me for buying MOs with gebit. Reps that were friendly before are now asking if it’s a bank issued debit and looking at the card. GCM debits are working tho.

Ugh. Was it multiple reps that did that?

I avoid the rep at WM who told me they wouldn't do 4 swipes anymore. Other reps I've encountered after her had no problem doing so.

heh, i think GE is like 2 weeks --a month
TSA pre should be within 2 weeks + no interview...
Nexus? i heard is at 4 months +.

Two years ago mine didn't take that long. I think about 6 weeks and had my appt within a week of getting the ok. Had the nexus card not long after that and was able to apply to my early Nov flights and use precheck on both. One of the Seattle news stations did a big story about it being a cheaper option etc which is why I applied. Just sucks that no cc covers it when it's cheaper than precheck and ge, unless they've raised the price in the last 2 years.

For the West Coasters: We are thinking about driving the Pacific Coast next June, is it better to start in Seattle and go south or better to start in CA and go north to Seattle? And just to do stops along the way. Trying to decide on San Francisco or Los Angeles as start or stop. Definitely want to take DS to visit Stanford since there is currently where he wants to go to college (he is currently a 7th grader so we have time :) ) We found be flying and renting a car since we are on the East Coast. Thinking 7-10 days. Any thoughts?

When in June? Seattle doesn't really start to get warmer until later in June and our summer is really mid July to end of Aug.

I think the bigger thing to consider driving down the coast is for the driver. Do they want to be along the side of the hill's etc driving north or do they want to be along the cliff's edge/water with no guardrail in some places driving south. Parts are windy and a lot of 2 lane road. I know for some drivers and\or passengers this would be a bigger concern do to heights, safety etc.

Other wise schools out here tend to get out after memorial day through June 20thish so if there's stuff in CA you arr concerned about being busy start there. Thing's won't be that busy up here in June.

@palhockeymomof2 Do you have any other Amex cards? There's the whole self-referral thing that has been talked about on here over the past few days.

No I don't have any AMEX cards at all.....saw the self referral thing thanks...I guess that’s a new question....with self referrals is There one business card I’m better off applying for first...then self referring for the others...

I think the Blue Business Plus might be not around now with the sign up bonus. I think it ended last of September. If you can find a link I would get that since no AF and 2 times on everything. I wouldn't get the Green just to get one. I got the Business Gold a couple months ago. You can get a Green as an AU and that helps the spend (and does not go on P2's credit report). The Business Gold you can pick a bonus category for 3 times the MR. Gas is an option if the other business or flight ones don't appeal to you.

Another option would be to get one of the chain business Amex cards (SPG, Delta, Hilton).

Thanks....I found a link to the 20,000 bonus after 5k MSR...looks like the 3k is dead

I’m pretty sure you are right..I don’t see any live links...

I went for the Gold at 50,000. It’s not a bad offer it just has been higher.

My last four times I have tried four different reps and got denied each time. Today I got denied by someone who always gave them to me without asking. My area is hard for MS. I found another spot further out in the suburbs that has been working if I use my address label to cover giftcard. Lol I look so sketchy. After this Amex MSR I’m going to stick to GCM and I’ll open a bluebird and try that.

Approved for Personal Gold on self referral! Fingers crossed it will work. I will report back. Rose gold here I come. :)

I think I need to take a walk now. I about had a heart attack as the wheels were spinning waiting to see if approved or not. I was so afraid of the dreaded pop up!

I am about doing the spend on the business gold. You have to call in for it but it was 75k for 10k spend in 4 months with AF waived first year. It depends on how much you are looking to spend though as 10k is a lot.

Thanks..lol yea No10k for me...just looking for no fee or waived first year fee business cards to keep me busy inbetween Chase applications...no set plans for MRs yet

Was just browsing the Amex referrals and noticed the EDP 20k/$1k + $95 AF. That seems... not bad when you include a 15k self-referral? The EDP is one of only two MR cards I haven't gotten yet this year. Been holding out to see a 30k or 35k offer either public or incognito because I know they exist, but that's the only one I've never seen. 20k + 15k is equivalent to the 35k.

Hmm.

I would not do biz green. The 1 purchase is tempting but if you don’t keep spending on it you could get that Amex popup in the future that you aren’t eligible (since you’re a “bad customer”).

I’d probably go BB+ since it has no annual fee, and can be a forever keeper to keep your MRs active. It also earns 2x MRs so you could put some continual spend on it to keep AMEX happy. Then you could see if you can get a 75k BGR in the future (or you could self refer but they would be less points).
