I love credit cards so much!

Got my Amex plat credit for my return Main Cabin Extra from Barcelona!

Received a text from British Airways this morning... that my American flight was canceled for my departure down to MIA for my Disney cruise in January. But don't worry, they rebooked me on another flight... that leaves 11 minutes before the original one I booked. Like I had to stare at the flight confirmation to even see the difference from the original. But yeah.

I'm currently reading some posts on another Disney forum right now. Every post is talking about how awful WDW is and how it won't be around in 15 years and this is very upsetting to me. 1) That's absurd and 2) why are you posting on a Disney forum if you hate it so much? I guess this is a knee-jerk reaction to the increased food prices (and everything else) which I agree is bad and getting out of hand but still. WDW ain't going away.

Thanks for the advice. Somehow I didn't see your post before, even though it's above my own. Weird. Anyway, yeah, I think it's definitely something to consider since DH doesn't want to get all the cards. We'll take a look at our spending and what bonuses we have on the other cards and try to figure out the best way to proceed.

You are fine...I just edited my post anyway as it didn’t make sense. I meant with the CIP not working for Plastiq it is not as good of as a value. My husband has all three of the Ink cards now and I have the CIP. Right now I am just waiting until it has been a year so I can close it out. I have no reason to put spend on it. (I put cell phone bill, Netflix, and our internet on his CIP).

Amex business cards are a lot easier and less stressful to get. So you might want to look hard at those.

@DisneyMandC I am so sorry. I have this pool of UR points right now that I don’t even know what to do with. Thanks for putting in the word on Disney.

Very frustrating morning with Chase. Since I was able to pull up Universal tickets yesterday, I decided to just go ahead and book our tickets for November. Well, I can get the tickets to pull up on the updated UR website on my CSP, but not on the CIP website (which does not appear to be updated for me). I tried multiple times to book on the website and every time it said I couldn't proceed with my booking. I decided to call the UR number and used my CIP number and the agent couldn't even see Universal on the website. He got a supervisor on the line and as soon as he went to transfer me to just the supervisor he hung up on me. I called back and gave them my CSP number and the agent was able to see Universal on the website and got everything entered for me to buy the tickets and then got the same message I got "we are unable to proceed with your booking at this time."

:badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:

She told me they had been having some issues with the website this morning and she was going to let her supervisor know about the problem. She said to try back in about an hour. I find it hard to believe that they would move Universal tickets to the new website and then get rid of them as an option, so I'm holding on to hope that it will work. Although, with my luck, they will have removed them as an option because now I want to buy them.

I also expressed my displeasure at Disney being taken away as an option to book. She said she was also upset by that and that she hoped it was a temporary change, but had no other information about it.
Ughh I really hope it’s a website issue. I’m not even seeing the tix on the CSR reward site. I saw them no problem last week but my bonus points hadn’t posted yet then and I’m not going until February so figured I had time. If they pull those tix I don’t see much need for a CSR at all now....

ETA: did you talk to regular reps or cruise and tours?

Has your CSR website updated to the new format? Both of our CIPs still have the old website, but my CSP has the new website. So I'm thinking that there are just errors getting everything moved to the new website. But it is irritating. I don't need the tickets for another month but I just don't want there to be any issues.

Ok, what is taking my SW Plus anniversary points so long to post! My statement posted on 10/3 and I can see the points on the statement but they are not in my RR account yet! My Points from my Premier were there the next day in my RR account. I need to them to post so I can close that account before the AF due. DH was having a hissy about it last night and I assured him I knew what I was doing timing getting the points, closing the account and not paying the fee. Ugh!
They will refund the AF if it posts.

As much as I hate the price increases, they are comparable to Six Flags (except popcorn refills) which also charges ridiculous amounts of money. Six Flags however will not let you bring any food into the park, so you bring food, you sit in the parking lot to eat. At least Disney lets you bring in food.

Some people get really weirdly upset when there is any price increase or when a new upcharge event is introduced.

I am a big fan of upcharge events in general, but for those that aren't, it's not like Mickey is coming up to you in the middle of Main Street and holding out his gloved hand for more money. It costs nothing for those that don't want to go, but people get NASTY about it! If it's not right for your family, just don't go to the event :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong. It's ridiculous that soda prices will reach $5 by 2020 when I'm pretty sure Disney gets the soda for free from Coca-Cola. However... that's the price. Pay it & get one, or don't pay it & don't get one.

I'm not as upset about the new ticket pricing system. They have to manage crowd control for Star Wars Land somehow. Management figured, well, why not make some extra money doing it? It's a sound business decision, and at the end of the day, that's what Disney is... a business, not a public service.

No I think it’s the old format. The same for CIP so hopefully that’s the case!!

I'm trying to decide our next card and I'm not sure what to do. We just finished my husband's CIP and Amex Starwood biz and have car insurance due Oct 24 (and we leave Oct 20 for Disney) so I'd like a new card, and I need it quick. We finished these last 2 much faster than anticipated as my mom put her stuff on and paid us back.

Anyway, original plan was to get me CIP and then SPG lux possibly, but I don't want to take another $5k right now I'd rather a $3k. Thinking either Chase Ink Cash for me or Capital One Venture for my husband. Only thing with going for CIC for me is fear that chase will implement a one ink rule and I won't be able to get the preferred later.

Here's our stats:

Me
CSP July 17 (1/24) cancelled
CSR Aug 17 (2/24) downgraded to freedom
SW Plus Sept 17 (3/24)
SW Premier Sept 17 (4/24)
SPG biz Jan 18 (4/24)

Husband
CSR Nov 17 (1/24)
Marriott biz Feb 18 (1/24)
SPG personal April 18 (2/24)
CIP July 18 (2/24)
SPG biz Aug 18 (2/24)

I also have 2 Discovers including an IT, Cap One Venture, Amex Blue Cash Preferred, Chase Disney, Chase Amazon, Chase Slate, Citi Double Cash, BOA MLB card, Barclay Aadvantage. My husband also has a Chase Freedom and a Discover IT. Will be calling soon about possible retentions on my 2 SW soon as both annual fees just hit.

We currently have SW companion pass through 2019 on me, will need slots open for my husband at the end of 2019/early 2020 to get it again for him. We really only do Disney trips so that is our focus.
I know it's not the best deal anymore, but after my husband's SPG points post, we will each have enough for 5 nights at Swan/Dolphin for next October.

I know I did a crazy thing with all 4 of my Chase cards in only a few months last year. That was before the shutdowns were a thing. So I got lucky. I haven't even thought about touching Chase for myself until I got to 0/12. And at least they'll all drop off and I'll be pretty clean in a year!

I filled in the application for Global entry on Thursday (I can see the charge and reimbursement already on my CSR), but I haven’t heard anything back about my application.
Anyone who’s done this have an idea of how long it usually takes to hear back from them about setting up an appointment?

Standing in line for Peter Pan’s Flight right now, and they’ve temporarily suspended boarding because a family in front of us had a toddler who dropped a mushy poop in line then proceeded to board the attraction anyway. Seriously, Disney warps prople’s priorities sometimes.

I'm an quite into politics too but I avoid discussing it with most people...and those who rant about it on FB get deleted. hahahaha.

I have a feeling there would be a diversity of opinion about politics between people who post on this board, given how polarized the country is in general. Which just goes to show you that you can have lots and lots of things in common, and be friends with people even when you have very different views about politics. Its a good thing to keep in mind! I'm also happy to talk about political stuff, and it is possible to be civil and disagree (easier in real life when you know the whole person, not just their internet persona). BUT, I'm glad that this thread is free from that stuff, so we can just talk happily about churning and travel and leave the politics for other venues.

I also am not really on social media. I have a facebook account, but its really only for keeping up with my gym's private group and my daughter's class parents private group.

It was a good few weeks for us. I think mine took less time than DH's, even though he applied first. It is a fairly lengthy process.

If you don’t want to take on the $5,000 CIP spend right now...I’d apply for the CIC...timing could be tight if your not auto approved...since you need it by the 20th....We did my husbands CIC application on 9/14...he was approved...9/21.....received card 9/28

@disneymagicgirl How fast do your Sam's orders show up?
Do you mean online orders that are shipped?
Usually a few days. They used to be SUPER fast, like I'd receive in 24-48 hours, but now that they are shipping everything and for free it seems they have slowed down a tad. I usually still get my stuff within the same week.
