We flew with TSA Precheck for the first time when we went to CA this past summer, and I will never fly without it again. If I ever fly with someone who doesn't have it, I will be that mean person who leaves my companion in the peasant line while I go through Precheck.

Make sure you are always on an airline that participates then. Not all that fly outside of the US participate. I had to stand in the regular line last May because Icelandair doesn't participate.

When we booked our 8/18 trip Air France said they weren't participating. It didn't matter since we could access priority lines in CDG because we were flying J class. But it's never a sure thing. We were in the line at Heathrow for BA and something (or someone) went wrong with the premier line and we were all moved to the regular, super long line with the peasants. And they made us leave our DCL shampoo and stuff there since the regular line was extra strict on liquids. So it's a wonderful perk to have, but at times it doesn't work out.

As an MSer wannabe who has researched how it works and actually done a few rounds of GC to MO, I'm curious what the "BB" part of the process is. I'm assuming "BB" is "Bluebird" but I thought that got shut down?

Another silly question. I recently closed my SW and I do see the AF already showing as a credit on my account. Though I still got the bill but I don't have to send a payment? Just don't want to ruin my credit...Especially now while doing this hobby.

As long as your current balance shows $0 you don't need to make a payment. You can double check through the payment screen, if it's showing current at 0 then there's nothing to pay and you're good.

im not sure what your starting city is at, but i think the best way to go currently is using BA Avios to fly AA/AS metal.

Yeah, my home airport is DEN, so I first have to get out to the west coast for those, and I'd have to pay the BA Avios for two segments each direction. Plus I didn't see any saver awards available on AA or AS on the days I need anyhow (I did look!). I've done it once before a few years ago.

But pre-check doesn't help when you're overseas, so unless your ticket gets you a special line everyone will be in the long line. We fly out of Orly which I think ended up being a good idea simply because the lines weren't long. Smaller airport and I would have liked to explore CDG or at least have been in a bigger terminal with more food options in Orly, but was happy to not have to deal with anything but the idiot in front of me with all his electronic junk he didn't think he had to take out.

Thanks! Gonna have to try. Had no issues with Vanilla (first time with those) at Stop&Shop to get my MOs today. Weird that I could enter any number as a pin and it worked. I love auto drain, but wasn't sure if its the store, or the card, that dictates that. The less I have to talk to the cashier, the better.

I tried to get a replacement card for my SPG Lux that came kinda scuffed up with poorly cut edges, but was told I’d need to wait 10 days before Amex could process a replacement card.

I’m sitting here watching Sofia the First with my kiddo; wife is working late, and I still haven’t applied for her Gold card!

I’m wondering if I should just wait til tomorrow and take the chance that a 50k MR offer will still be available, but with a $3k MSR (which we won’t have problems meeting anyway). At least that way, maybe I can request DW a rose gold card directly.

ETA: Meanwhile, I already have the PRG with DW as an AU, so I’d be requesting the new cards anyway. So no rush on DW’s own rose gold card, right? Ugh. I’m overthinking it.

I don't pay as much attention as others but I'm pretty sure it doesn't show the cashback until the statement drops. But I only ever look at my total cashback on the first page when you log in.
