Think I would need a reservation for Beaches and Cream for a lunch time? We had talked about going here a couple years ago. Beginning of March on a Sunday but hate to make reservations as not knowing how quick things go after landing. Wanted to check Jelly Rolls a couple years back but probably pass this round with little ones.

You have already gotten some great ideas, but we love the ice cream at Amble Hills Creamery on the Boardwalk. They do a flight of 6 ice creams for $10. Yummy!

That ice cream is SO good! I like to get a double scoop when we stay at BWV---I eat half of each scoop one night and the rest the next

I'm the only one in the family who can eat dairy, so I take my moments when I can!

We will have the entire afternoon of our check-in day to hang at the pool (likely arriving around lunchtime), so we definitely want to have a nice pool.

Traveling with our LO, I think that Royal Pacific does look like maybe a better fit than Hard Rock (not sure any of the memorabilia would mean anything to her!) Sapphire Falls does look nice, but I don't think the price difference would cover FOTL passes for all three of us.

I'm thinking this might be a one and done for us at USO - maybe LO will grow into a roller coaster fiend, but at this stage she doesn't even really enjoy 7DMT! But ts all about Harry Potter at the moment.

RPR is really pretty - especially the pool area. :) And yes, we are one and done there, but love HP and went just for that. I'm not a coaster fan (tried 7DMT and never again!) and didn't ride the 2 main rides (DD did, and said one made her really nauseous, but she still liked them). DH and I went for things like Ollivander's, Diagon Alley, the Hogwarts Express, etc. and that made it worthwhile for us.

I'm impressed with all of you that have successfully talked through Barclays recon. There's nothing in the churning world quite like the condescension that comes from a Barclays recon rep as he/she reads off all of the other accounts you have, one by one, and asks why you need another one from Barclays.

Oh I HOPE they try to do that to me. I'd love to turn that around on them and ask them why they'd want to purposefully and condescendingly drive business away when they have someone who is interested in doing business with them.

I'm wondering if we should put together a bit of a list on DISchurners of banks we've successfully funded with cc? It comes up here sometimes so I'm thinking of anyone commenting in the Intro Bank Bonus thread when they have a DP of bank funding they'd like to share?... I'm not sure to put it there or in the MS thread? (But that is an archived post now) I don't MS (ok, fine, I don't MS too much and when I do it's always via banks) so my personal inclination is to put it in the intro bank bonus thread if we even want the data from our group compiled somewhere (DoC's list always seems a bit dated when I'm looking for info).

maintaining our own list, we might not have enough DPs... i usually just forward people to DoC's list as there is a ton more DP there than we can provide.

edit: if its is a must, i can maintain one in the wiki section of our reddit.

ShopRite only promotions:

CF 5x with Chase Pay Q4; 10x with Chase Pay on $400 Oct 1-31

CSR/CSP: 1000 UR on $50+ using Chase Pay Oct 1-31

CSR/CSP; 1500 UR after 5 purchases of $25+ anywhere with Chase Pay (so incl ShopRite) Oct 1-31

Can you confirm that it is only CSR and CSP that qualify for 1500 UR bonus? I thought DoC article said CF qualifies also? I don't have Shoprite, so I am having trouble weeding out Shoprite only promotions apart from the "other participating retailers" that the offer mentions.

Here's the image--note that the 1500 UR bonus on 5 $25 purchases is good for the entire Q4

I’m fine with adding a thread for this but I’d wonder if our group (and it’s small size) would provide a great source of info vs the DoC crowd or r/churning. This is typically something I’d look for outside DPs on from a larger subset of churners. :) Just a thought.

Oh wow, I didn't know about the csr/csp ones. Thx!

So a little OT but I know there are a lot of SW flyers on this thread. Apparently SW doesn't like it if you have two sets of reservations at the same time for the same people... I booked flights out of KC and Wichita for June 6th because I can't decide if the cheaper point price is worth it to drive, especially since I'm not able to book the return flights yet to see the true difference. I just checked my account to see about possibly flying out a day later, and noticed they had cancelled the Wichita flight (that I booked second). I wondered if it was allowed, but since the system allowed me to do it I thought it was ok. I would have thought they would have sent me an email letting me know at least! Very glad I logged in to check my flights! Now deciding whether to book the following day until we decide, but not sure if that's a no-no also?

Southwest will proactively cancel flights that are not possible (booked at the same time from same or conflicting cities). They didn’t used to but started doing it 2-3 years ago when bloggers were out suggesting you book tons of speculative flights with points while you nail down your travel itinerary. It is specifically against their Terms and Conditions to hold conflicting flights.

As far as the next day is concerned, that is probably fine since it technically is possible.

So, after going down a little bit of a rabbit hole planning a hypothetical Disney weekend add-on to the conference I'm not yet scheduled to go to, DH and I decided that we should probably make the add-on a weekend at Universal instead (our little one is Harry Potter obsessed, and her best friend just went to USO, so she really really wants to see the wizarding world). I know nothing about Universal! We will only be there for 1 day (2 hotel nights, but one park day), so I'm thinking we really need to stay on site and get the front of line thingy, so its Hard Rock, Portofino or RPH. Convenience is the most important thing, a good pool is second most important. Anyone have advice for me?

The big downside to this plan is that we will likely wind up paying for one day tickets at Disney and at Universal - not a good value at all. Also, I won't get to do any Disney parks (they will go while I'm in sessions) and we'll be visiting Universal on a Saturday, so it will likely be crowded. But, my LO (and I!) will enjoy all the HP stuff, I'm sure.
With express pass, the parks will not seem as crowded. And it is so worth it! I can't imagine staying onsite and not staying at a resort that has it. We have stayed at all 3 resorts and Portofino is our fave! Hard Rock is the closest to the parks and an easy walk so don't need the boat. We did early entry from Royal Pacific and it was crazy trying to clear security on the walk over. The EP will allow you to easily do the HP area efficiently. I would also do the P2P passes so you can just take the Hogswarts Express over the other HP area. We love USO more than Disney in our house!

Thanks! The DOC master list has a blank for Idaho, but I saw another source suggesting Equifax. I just checked my Equifax credit report on Credit Karma and still see the card that falls off after 10/25/18. I'd hate to apply and get denied, so I think I'll take my chances that the Aspire won't have reported by 10/26 and apply then. If it has, worst case is that I have to wait until January to apply for the CIP, which I knew when I decided to go ahead and apply for the Aspire.
They pull Equifax AND Experian for me every time. So annoying.

A Dark Side lover?! Well... we all have our faults....

I'm pretty tempted to do Portofino - just looks like a nice property, and relaxing. It is slightly more expensive for our dates, but not a huge difference. Looking forward to the Hogwarts Express - definitely going to do the p2p tix.

I also need to figure out where to eat. I think on the day we are in the parks I'm going to try to do both the Leaky Cauldron and the Three Broomsticks (one for bfast, the other for a late lunch, probably). I'm guessing the food there won't be all that great, so I'm hoping for a really good (but still kid friendly) meal on Friday night.
