I love credit cards so much!

The Churners struggle:
"Wait you mean I need to put spend on these cards after the MSR...like regular spend...like non-bonus spend...you mean like a regular person??"

And it's extra hard when the MSR is one purchase for 50,000 AA miles... lol. So far I've put three dry cleaning charges and DH's red light ticket (oops) on it.

Been trying to get Dude (my dog) to get a job and pay for his stuff for years, still waiting. My friend has a great set up for her cat with an auto feeder, self cleaning liter box and a water fountain or something that fills it. This way she can go away for a long weekend without worry and when gone for a week she just has someone stop by to check on her once.

Totally behind here but just wanted to say my cat is so hard to leave when we go on vacation! He is an outdoor cat and refuses to use a litterbox, so needs to be let out a few times a day. He doesn't like dry food so can't use the auto feeder and he won't drink from a bowl...only the faucet or outside. My mom HATES when we go away and she has to go tend to the cat, lol.

Anyone gone for the Barclays Jetblue biz card with the 50k offer? I think I'm going to apply for it. I have a $500 bill I could put on it so that would knock out half the MSR. Barclays gave me a really low limit ($1000) on my Aviator Biz though, so I'm not sure they'll approve me. I could really use that card though, so I'm going to go for it.
I did about 8-9 months ago with no problems when it was 60k (I wanted those points to get from BOS-LAX)

Just realized I'll be making both my student loan payments this month from my bank account... like a peasant.

Just wanted to say I use the phrase “like a peasant” all the time. I have no idea where I got it from but it bothers my family so much. lol they always roll their eyes at me or say that I am a peasant.

I do too :rotfl2: Maybe it's a millennial thing haha. We actually had an ongoing joke in my office because several of us keep a running group text going and everyone had an iPhone but one guy, who thought it would be cooler to have one of those Google Pixel phones. There was a lot of shaming about his "peasant phone" and green texts. He had the phone for a year before switching back to iPhone lol.

Any Nashville recommendations for someone who hasn't been there since she was 16? :) DH has never been.

I figured we'd do the Country Music Hall of Fame and Ryman Auditorium for sure. The concert we're seeing is at 8pm on Saturday. I know nothing about food, the only place I remember going with my family was Loveless Cafe.

Fly in Friday at 11:30pm currently (might try to move that to landing at 6:30pm as it gets closer, it'll depend on DHs work) and fly out Sunday at 7pm.

I've put a couple charges on, but not much :scared: That's my other concern. Hard to justify putting any spend on this when I'm working on the SPG Biz MSR. I've had at least one charge on each statement, but obviously that's not much.
Even that small activity is better than none! (Fwiw I had none. I bought something worth like $15 on my Barclay AAdvantage and bid it adieu to the sock drawer- never a good idea with Barclay) good luck!!

Bahaha! Yesssss! It is my most favorite thing to make those sort of jokes. I do have a housekeeper come in for 8 hours once a month and do a whole house deep clean--the way we joke about it you would think I have a crew of daily waitstaff. It's really satisfying to summon her by name when the kids spill something or some cleaning task requires immediate attention (and no, I would never actually do it in real life even if she was there ).

I have to laugh at AMEX. I got an email last night, offering me 25k miles for a $2000 MS to upgrade my Delta Blue to a Delta Platinum. But I just downgraded my Platinum, to the Blue within the last year LOL. If I thought they'd actually give them to me, and then not kill me when I asked to downgrade again, I'd totally do it. But I have had this card, in one form or another, since 2007, so I don't want to risk them shutting it down.

Am I right in thinking this is something I should probably not do?

huh, got an email to do chase bank accounts referrals. that's new right?
Interesting. I recall DoC posting about this sometime back but few people were targeted to be able to offer referrals and I think the offers were on the low side for Chase Bank offers. I didn't receive anything so I can't check, what are the offers this time?

Have been lurking here for a few weeks after I got the CSR. Started looking at it because a friend was posting on FB about all the free food he got at SFO with Priority Pass. Now I feel I'm a bit down the rabbit hole. Got the CIP too and will probably eventually get a few more (DH is willing P2). Hit the MSR for CSR and waiting for my statement to close (the bonus already show as pending). Transferred over DH's UR points from his old downgraded CP account. They've been in there for years waiting for the opportunity to redeem at better than 1:1 (and I kinda, sorta forgot about them...lol). Will be getting one-way tickets to Iceland x4 on Icelandair, with points left over. Yay!

Anyhoo - I was hoping people can share the logistics of using Priority Pass, if the restaurant or lounge is at different terminals, going through security again, etc. I want to eat my annual fee back! At SFO, my flights will be from the International Terminal, but the Priority Pass restaurants are at Terminal 3. Is that going to be a big pain?

Here are our flights if anyone has any feedback about the other airports we'll pass through. TIA!

SFO-KEF Icelandair
KEF-EDI Easyjet
ABZ-LHR-SFO British Airways
I’d kind of like to know this for the LAX lounge since we will be going there before Japan.

I would not do this if you plan to immediately spend the $2K, earn the 25k miles (roughly $250 value) then downgrade within a year. I know I'm trying to keep Amex happy by spending on all of mine and keeping cards longer than a year (so...two years?). If you have a need for 25K in the near future AND can use the companion fare next year and don't mind paying the $195 fee (this year and next) twice then I'd go for it. If those don't apply...I'd really have to think about whether it's worth it. That's just my thought process...
