I love credit cards so much!

Which Hilton card? There are 4 of them. I’m not sure I’m understanding what you’re trying to do. Adding DH as an additional or authorized user (“AU”) to your Hilton card is not the same as referring DH for his own Hilton card and getting a separate welcome bonus.

Sorry I didn't go into the full details. I wanted to add him as an AU because our monthly chargeable expenses are low and I would need both of our expenses to meet MSR. Eventually once mine is met, I would like to then refer him to also get the card (and bonus) because we've decided to focus our efforts on collecting Hilton points.

Thanks! On my way to product change my CIP to CIC. Do I need to provide a reason or just SM the request?

I’ve always called in a PC never SMd. If asked I’d explain I was doing the volume in shipping that I’d anticipated and would like to PC.

Wow, this really helps me having it all laid out like this.

Glad to hear it!

Oh, I'd love it if Plane Princess came out of lurkdom and started posting here. :welcome:

I’d be stunned and then I’d laugh.

And, he would have to be Plane Princess with a lie flat seat Avatar (complete with rose petals and champagne)!

Hahahahaha! That sounds perfect

I'm always of the mind that you take the largest bonus first, LOL. I'd do the CIP since it's got the 80k bonus. But that's just me, lol!

Generally, I’d agree and do the same. But since we do have some that are more conservative with applications I wanted to lay out a different perspective than how I tend to roll.

Just wanted to update that I put the call in for my DVC add on, using 3 cards and taking advantage of their 0% aprs. Thank you so much to everyone here that helped me through this decision!

:disrocks:

:welcome: Home.

I really appreciate this analysis bc I'm trying to decide between the CIP purely for the signup bonus amount and the CIC for the way we'd shop at office supply stores (have CSR for the travel) :)

You’re welcome :-)

@Limes96 - Update on the Plastiq Masterpass promo. Seems the fee on check payments scheduled by 9/30, but not delivered until after 9/30, was a glitch. It’s fixed now and shouldn’t show fees for payments scheduled by 9/30.

If you're comfortable with it, you can request a replacement card for you that he could use. Most places don't even look at the name on the card. Sometimes if I'm buying a VGC/MCGC at the supermarket they ask to match the name of the card, but other than that I can't think of the last time anyone's cared. Hubby's used my extra Discover card this whole last quarter at Restaurants and even with the server checking the name on the card they haven't cared... got an odd look once but apparently not enough to actually raise an eyebrow :)

So that's an option to keep it off his credit report. But if you're not concerned with how many open accounts are listed then no worries on adding as AU :)

If you use digital wallets like Apple Pay, you can put a credit card with your name onto your DH’s digital wallet for him to use at places that accept mobile payments.

Another way to avoid adding a card to his credit report is you could buy a prepaid gift card with your card at the grocery store, and have him use that for payments where a mobile payment isn’t accepted. Gas stations and sit down restaurants can be tricky with prepaid cards though.

Those are ways I’ve avoided adding DH as an AU to keep him eligible for Chase 5/24 cards, though the replacement card trick is a good one.

Thanks! I might just go this route. He's already a bit adverse to opening new cards and having them on his credit reports. This will help me convince him to open his own a few months down the road.

Yup. Already activated and ready to go for tomorrow :-)
Same here. DH has $50 waiting for him and I had $30! The only ones we are waiting to pay are Kohl’s that I used on Fri and Walgreen’s from 9/14. Easy Peasy! Now to figure out how to make time to go shopping tomorrow between a wine tasting with friends and breakfast with my boys.

Yep linked. Double checked before I went to checkout and made sure the card I was using was one that was linked.
Boo! Hope the rest of them work for you! If you don’t get the pop right away, I would try refreshing from the offer screen a few times before leaving the premises. I don’t know if it actually helped but my Kohl’s and Staples came through after I did that :) and I do know they work since I just transferred $100 to PayPal over the last 3 days.

Wow. My RMN purchases have pending funds, but RMN says they won't "do their part" until 10/6. Guess I can't use them again. Is this normal? It seems like mine are taking longer than other people's but maybe it's just because I'm impatient.

I made purchases 9/18 and 9/19....3 of them just posted this morning..and I was able to relink...the other..Staples never came up as pending

Waiting at the airport for our flight to Orlando...so will not be able to reuse until Friday...and I’ll try to keep up here :chat:

Remember when I said I got a targeted mailer for $400 to open a Key Bank account - with just one $500 deposit? There seems to be $300 offers floating around online. Keep your eyes peeled.

EDGT0718 is the offer code. If you google that you'll see this offer has cycled through early summer too. I've never seen the $400 offered online tho. I would think being logged into google and then clicking around the Key Bank site would get you that targeted mailer for $400.

Has anyone done the Citizens bank checking acct bonus?
I opened it at the end of May, followed all of the requirements and still don’t have the bonus. I’m guessing I need to call?

:offtopic: Does anyone here have an 11-year old daughter? I'm working on my Fish Extender gifts for my cruise, and am having trouble figuring out what to give an 11 year old girl. I made bows out of DCL and Mickey balloon ribbon for the younger girls, but those seem too juvenilefor her. I made the bows pictured here for her, but are they still too young? For the 18-24 year olds, I made little cosmetic bags out of DCL fabric, but that seems too old for her. Any advice would be appreciated!

I would say to give them the cosmetic bag. My 10 year old would definitely prefer that over bows.

I tried my first RMN at Kohl’s today and it’s not showing as pending. We eat at Chipotle all the time so it’s money I would have spent anyway, but it would be nice if the offer worked
My non-giftcard kohls purchase from 9/18 hasn't gone to pending either. I had the offer linked so I don't know what happened. What I bought doesn't fit, so I'll probably just return it and maybe try again. My home depot purchase that included a gc went to pending right away. Go figure.
