You’ll love OKW. The rooms are huge and so bright and cheery. The resort feels a million Miles from the hustle and bustle of the parks and DS. The boat is a convenient and relaxing way to visit DS.

Staying at OKW was the final thing that confirmed we would buy DVC. Since it’s the resort with the lowest point chart and also the most availability, we knew that we’d be perfectly happy if we needed to stay there each year. Enjoy!!! Oh and Olivia’s (sit down restaurant) is a hidden gem. You can also take a boat from DS to Port Orleans and get beignets!
Thanks - now I'm really getting excited!!!

I can't believe it, but I just booked flights to Orlando for next week!!! I'm such a planner that this just feels so weird. I had some SW credits to use up, so I used those plus my $200 gc that should be covered by my Amex Plat credit. Then for the return flight I used points.

Now for a hotel. We get in at 9pm to MCO so I think I might book the Hyatt MCO. My best bet would be to transfer points through Chase, correct?

And then for the next few nights it looks like I can book Wyndham Bonnet Creek through the UR portal, or Swan, Dolphin and AKL are showing in Expedia. Any advice?

Check Hotwire and Priceline for opaque bookings. If you don’t know how, pm me your dates and I can look when I get home.

So funny! I just went through this with our Disney trip this weekend. We had flights but I literally just booked our hotel for Sat an hour ago. I would also check the Disney site for pricing. I looked at Swan and Dolphin but scratched them off since there was no MDE. I had originally booked AKL but canceled it since the main pool is closed for renovation and we were having a couple of pool days. I ended up selecting the YC for the pool and the location. I actually had Chase book directly with Disney so that I could get the Enchanted Escape rate (I had checked Disney for pricing also.) It was so very, very easy!!! I always also check the fed gov't employee rate at the Hyatt MCO since we are feds and sometimes that rate is lower than the other rates. We've only stayed there before DCL so that our luggage can be magically whisked away. Have fun! I don't plan to tell DS we are staying at YC. He thinks we are staying at POR but I decided the few extra URs were whether the location :)

Definitely worth the extra UR's.

So I just hopped in here to check on the date that Chase MSR bonuses are normally posted and I see there’s an “issue”. :guilty: I met my MSR on my current statement that doesn’t close till Sep 12. Is that when i should expect it, barring a delay from this issue? Or is it based on the date I met the MSR?
Under typical conditions - we would expect you to see your points "pending" in the "Earning on Next Statement" section of the Chase Ultimate Rewards site very soon. AND we would expect the points to actually post with the close of business on Sept 12th (meaning you'll see them available for use sometime after midnight on Sept 13th). THAT SAID..."pending" points aren't quite behaving normally right now, so it's hard to say what will happen for you. Have you checked your "Earning on Next Statement" for that card and do you see the points pending there?

If you didn't see the latest news on r/churning...They are looking for some new moderators. I was nominated by a couple of folks, soooo apparently somebody there likes me HAHA! Even if I'm selected, I'm not sure if I'll do it...I'm not sure I can commit to doing it effectively, and obviously I feel my primary loyalties lie here with the DISchurners :)

DISchurners REMINDER

PLEASE update your support links into the new threads below. The old threads will stop working soon and sometime next week, I will remove the old threads.

The easiest way to move your comment is to go into the OLD thread, click EDIT on your comment, COPY the text in the edit box (with all the formatting) and then PASTE that text in the new thread. If you do it this way, it should take 10-15 seconds and you keep the links and formatting intact.

FYI - I advise everybody to use OLD reddit when updating their links. New Reddit is garbage...and messes with links...and sucks...and is garbage... :)

Last reminder - I am removing the old Support threads now. Thanks!! :)

So I’m planning on opening a PNC account to help meet the MSR on my new CIP. If I get DH an employee card and open him a separate PNC account would it be problematic to fund both from the new CIP?

Follow up to my earlier question about booking flights... can I book a Hilton hotel with my points for somebody else to stay in when I won't be there?

I promise I'll tell you guys about this redemption in a few once I get things nailed down :)

Any issues on booking flights with URs on Chase if I'm not the person flying? Can I book for my in-laws if I'm not going with them?
I have done this for my mom with no problems at all. You will need to create a traveler profile for each of them I think. It was pretty easy. I just forwarded the confirmation to my mom so she had all the info.

I finished out my SPG Biz $1K spend (which was applied for on July 31 after 9pm, just a couple of hours before they added the 100K bonus).

My last transaction was Aug 31 and the $100 credit posted Sep 1. It didn't 'show' until this morning.
I bill paid them from my Navy Federal account and threw the card in the sock drawer until I can get through this $5K spend on the SPG Lux.

So, relieved I don't have 10K spend to do. $4920 to go!

Sadly, no, the points are not showing there.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do that. I've also booked rooms via Expedia and elsewhere for other people and I think you can just put in the name of the primary guest. Maybe you can go all the way through a dummy booking to see what info they ask you.

Sounds like you're up to something fun! Looking forward to hearing about it :)

What is the true impact of hard inquiries on your CR? DH and I jointly bought and partially financed a Jeep in June. CreditKarma shows 3 credit inquiries for me related to that purchase and 4 for my husband....?! I am considering disputing these, although I have never disputed anything before. Is this situation worth the hassle of disputing? I am at 5 inquiries and DH 6 inquiries
ever since i started churning(4 years ago), i went from a 720 --> 810. Id say, churning helps your score a lot!

Sadly, no, the points are not showing there.
my points are also MIA. I did do a PNC bank funding, im not sure if chase is starting to care now... statement closed a few days ago.

I need to stop having MSR. Everything in my house keeps breaking. A year and a half ago when I was working on the CSR MSR, my water heater and dryer broke. That was an easy MSR. This time around, my dryer broke, dishwasher is having water pool on the bottom, and the garbage disposal is leaking. We should hit the CIP MSR real soon, but this cc hobby is starting to annoy me.

Thankfully, I will be able to go to Disney for 5 days for free. Silver lining, folks.

I know the feeling. Picked up an Arrival+ for each of us, then the Ritz, then the SPG Biz since those were going away/being locked out. Thought I might have to MS and did $1k BMO finding on the Ritz, but then the A/C went out. And we're moving soon. And P2's computer went out and needed a new laptop. Sigh. No more MS needed, at least, I guess.

I Guess I will try not to worry about it till after statement closes.....

  • I will reiterate, that if you haven’t received a click yet, don’t feel bad. Continue to be active and help others here and perhaps it will come. Also, I don’t think anybody here is participating for the sole purpose of support clicks, so don’t make that your focus!

Q5: How many PERSONAL cards have you been approved for in the past 24 months?

  • 0: 2 people; 2%
  • 1: 8 people; 10%
  • 2: 7 people; 9%

  • That’s approximately 4 cards for each person who has signed up for at least 1 card!

Q7: When did you begin actively pursuing multiple cards for bonuses? (aka "churning")

  • Before 2014: 12 people; 15%
  • 2015: 7 people; 9%
  • 2016: 19 people; 24%

  • I am over 5/24 and I'm not looking back: 3 people; 4%
  • I am over 5/24 and trying to get back under (also would apply if in 2 Player mode and trying to get ONE player back under: 18 people; 23%
  • I am under 5/24 but will be over soon and won't be looking back: 3 people; 4%
  • I am under 5/24 and am attempting to remain under 5/24 perpetually (also would apply if in 2 player mode and keeping only ONE player under 5/24): 33 people; 42%
  • I am under 5/24 and have no idea what I'm doing long term yet: 21 people; 27%
  • What is 5/24??: 0 people – YAY, everybody at least knows that this is! :)
  • I wonder if some of these answers may change with the new Sapphire 48 month rule.
  • That said, we are VERY different from the typical r/churning demographic where MANY people are over 5/24 and MOST advocate forgetting about 5/24.
Thanks to everybody who completed the survey - if you have any questions or wish to discuss further that's great!

I just checked RetailMeNot and it does specify FIRST Walmart grocery order, just FYI! So I don't qualify unfortunately! I've seen on FaceBook an offer code for $10 off your first 3 Walmart Grocery purchases, IIRC. If you've never used it, that's what I would go for.
There is one on RMN for repeat customers. It's code LIFECHGR and expires 9/15. It just worked for me. :-)

Follow up to my earlier question about booking flights... can I book a Hilton hotel with my points for somebody else to stay in when I won't be there?

I promise I'll tell you guys about this redemption in a few once I get things nailed down :)
I have used DH's points and booked myself a room before. I just add me under the area where it asks about other people. You could add a note that "so and so will be checking in ahead of me" or whatever. They'll never know you aren't there.

Ok, I had this 2 year churn plan between DH and me to get a Chase card about every 6 months (CIP, CIC, CIU, and CSR/CSP) and refer each other. He got the CIP in May and I was planning to refer him to the CSR/CSP in January and then cancel my card when it renews in Jan/Feb. With all this talk of the new 48 month language, I am assuming it is safe for him to go ahead and get the CSR/CSP. He is at 0/24 with just the CIP in May. I have seen that you can only have 3 Chase apps in 6 mos. I am planning to refer him to the CSR, but I am assuming you can use a link for the CSP as well. I didn't generate a link before I PC'd it to CF. With estimated taxes due the 15th, it will help with the MSR. He will love having a "nice" card. He thinks I have all the "nice" ones!!
