Regarding NCL and Chase. I booked a cruise direct through NCL. I then called Chase Travel and Tour and they provided a form that we needed to fill out and submit to NCL to have it transferred over to Chase (acting as a Travel Agent).

Here's a summary from one of my previous posts.

---------------------------

June 4: Cruise booked directly with NCL, $150 deposit paid.

Tuesday June 26
DH called Chase Travel and Tour (or whatever it’s called) and was originally bounced around to a few different numbers. He tried to enter Melissa’s extension but as others have pointed out they recently changed the extension system so it didn’t work. He ended up with a rep named Odelia. She sent him a NCL document that needed to be competed along with information on what travel agent to list (Loyalty Travel). DH filled out the form and scanned/emailed to the NCL email address listed (****@cxloyalty.com).

Wednesday June 27
He received an email from NCL this morning indicating the transfer was complete.

I was finally able to login to UR portal and I moved enough points over to the CSR to cover remaining balance (around $3600 = 240,000 UR points).

Chase rep (Odelia) called DH and said balance needed to be paid in full at time of txfr. I told him to just pay off since we had the URs and he confirmed we can cancel for full refund per NCL policy. They would refund our URs and NCL our deposit. We may have been able to push back on paying but took the easier route.

A few hours later Chase emailed confirmation of the cruise with a new Chase booking ID and summary of all payments made (NCL deposit which indicated paid directly to vendor, balance payment made to NCL I assume using a Chase travel MasterCard (not our card), and then memoing our redemption of UR points).

Heres the full list of Travel Disclosures sent if anyone wants to read through.

So far so good, will update with any new information.

One thing to note, the cruise was booked directly through NCL with me as the primary passenger. When we filled out the transfer we put it in my name. DH has the CSR and there were no issues with him calling and handling the transfer.

Our Chase rep also said we only have 30 days to transfer. NCL documentation indicated that as well.

Thanks, maybe we should just head to whatever hotel I end up choosing. Normally we'd be there at RD, but I think our only park time will be MNSSHP on Friday night. So we'll get in at 9pm Wednesday night, then Thursday will be pool and maybe Disney Springs, Friday will be pool and MNSSHP, Saturday will be pool then fly home.
If you aren’t headed to a park the next day, then it’s probably no big deal other than just not getting settled into your room right away.

Hope you have a great time! I’m jealous. I want a last minute trip!!

I was trying to make my MDE reservation and when I get through the screen where it lists the details of my reservation and I hit continue, I keep getting a page not found-404 error. I didn't realize that I was also getting emails so now I have 3 emails thanking me for submitting my request but I am not sure I have an actual reservation with them. And there is no telephone number on the email to call to verify whether the reservation took or not. Luckily, we are just doing carry-ons but I'd like to verify that I can go grab the bus when we land.

Looking for confirmation on the spacing of Chase applications..... DW will be 4/24 next week - her last Chase app (CIP) was 6/3 - so 3 months ago. I am eyeing that Sapphire DD for her - I should be good to go for it in 2 weeks, right? (BTW, her last sapphire bonus was over 4 years ago.)

3 months between applications you should be good ....wishing you success with the DD

Good Morning! Does anyone have any experience with booking cruises using Chase UR? I know there's a Cruise Dept that you can call but I'm wondering exactly how it works. We're looking at a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska next year. If I go on Norwegian's website, there is a current promotion that offers a choice of five options (free drink package; free specialty dining; etc) plus some onboard credit. Would I still be eligible for that promo if I book through Chase? And can they pick a specific cabin to book if I give them the cabin number? Also, we don't have enough points to pay for the entire cruise so could I use my points as the deposit and continue to make additional payments until the final payment due date or would I have to pay the entire balance when booking? Thanks for any info you can provide!!

1. Yep, still eligible for the promo. Travel Agents should be able to get you anything you can get yourself from the travel provider. If they can't look for another agent.
2. Yep :)
3. For Chase you have use all the UR points that you want at the time of first payment, so in this case, yes you can use all the UR points when you make the deposit. But since they have reduced deposits going on now, I think, you couldn't use 5000 UR to cover the deposit and then the rest of your points, say 8945 for a random number, when it's time for payment. You'd use all 13,945 at the time of booking, and then you're final payment would be less later. But stay tuned after the jump...

So that was interesting. Just called Chase Cruise and Tours (Alex). They said if I transfer my NCL cruise today the card I used for the deposit has to be the same card where they use my points and they will want me to use the points today. Also balance of the cruise will be charged on the same card today. I used Chase Disney to book it and all my points are on CIP.

Ok, don't use Alex :) First, the card thing doesn't make any sense. You can only use a UR earning card to pay for a reservation through the cruise & tour department, unless that's changed in the last 3 weeks or something. So he or she seems confused there. However, we have found some reps want UR payment in full at the time of transfer... the only reason to have to PIF for the whole cruise (points + cash) is if you are within the PIF dates, which is generally 30-90 days before sailing depending on the cruiseline, because it's the cruiseline usually requires that. There are other reps that allow you to transfer and not pay anything until PIF, like you would expect. This has successfully worked for land packages, I think we're still waiting on the first cruiser to report back success. But it should work based on how the reps have said it to me - you have to use all UR's at the time of first payment; since your first payment to Chase on a transfer would be at final payment, it should work.

I just called Chase again and spoke with Crystal ext 1118203. She said to call NCL and tell them to transfer the reservation to Loyalty because that’s the TA name NCL sees and being a Chase TA. She also said it’s up to NCL as to how much time I have to transfer the cruise but that once I transfer it I can only apply points once (at the time of transfer).

ETA: Norwegian said I have until PIF to transfer the cruise to a TA.

That's an interesting statement from Norwegian as they specifically state on their website it needs to be within 30 days of booking. I think we had some confirmations of the same. To be safe I'd either transfer within the 30 days or email the dispatch department and verify with them what the time frame is. Here's the FAQ's for reservation transfers: https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/guest-reservation-transfer-faq

So far here's the reps I know of that have allowed transfers and not required a payment at the time of transfer:
Melissa x1114179
Terrence x1118118

I and some others have spoke to Leon x1118179 and he's indicated the same, but I'm not sure if anyone's actually booked with him yet. So if you get him he's probably good too. At some point this week I swear I'll get all this cruise stuff organized on the DISchurners reddit page for Churning for Disney. Most of it is there already but it's spread across several comments, so I kept meaning to consolidate it all into one and just add to that as new info pops up here.
ETA: With the DIS rules on travel agent discussions and with DIS being public it's a little dicey putting all the Chase TA specifics and contacts in one place here.

I need to stop having MSR. Everything in my house keeps breaking. A year and a half ago when I was working on the CSR MSR, my water heater and dryer broke. That was an easy MSR. This time around, my dryer broke, dishwasher is having water pool on the bottom, and the garbage disposal is leaking. We should hit the CIP MSR real soon, but this cc hobby is starting to annoy me.

Thankfully, I will be able to go to Disney for 5 days for free. Silver lining, folks.

I would try it in incognito or a different browser. I was playing around on the Disney website this morning and it was being a little funny, but it worked for me fine in incognito.

Several hotel offers on AMEX this morning, just FYI! And also $10 off $50 Walmart Grocery purchases. We use Walmart Grocery app about once per week for grocery pickup and it is great! We got this offer on each of our AMEX accounts and will definitely be using these.

Nice! I got Hampton Inn & Hilton Garden Inn Spend $175 or more, get $30 back exp 10/31

and Crown Plaza Spend $250 or more, get $50 back exp 11/30

I also have a Universal Studios Hollywood, Get a one-time $40 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions online at universalstudioshollywood.com by 11/30/2018.

Any issues on booking flights with URs on Chase if I'm not the person flying? Can I book for my in-laws if I'm not going with them?

What is the true impact of hard inquiries on your CR? DH and I jointly bought and partially financed a Jeep in June. CreditKarma shows 3 credit inquiries for me related to that purchase and 4 for my husband....?! I am considering disputing these, although I have never disputed anything before. Is this situation worth the hassle of disputing? I am at 5 inquiries and DH 6 inquiries

Thanks for this. Just checked and I have the Walmart offer on my Everyday Cash and my AU cards. RetailMeNot is showing a deal for $5 off $50 for Walmart Grocery. A double discount would be great. :-)

I just checked RetailMeNot and it does specify FIRST Walmart grocery order, just FYI! So I don't qualify unfortunately! I've seen on FaceBook an offer code for $10 off your first 3 Walmart Grocery purchases, IIRC. If you've never used it, that's what I would go for.
